Today, the LEGO Group revealed two new products to help bring the magic of Paris closer to home for builders. Fans can start building their very own art collection with the LEGO® Art Mona Lisa or choose to be captivated by the majestic LEGO® Architecture Notre-Dame de Paris set.
These two global icons of Paris have been unveiled to celebrate the rich heritage and history of the French capital, which has an exciting and packed year ahead and will be available for pre-order on 7th May.
Inspired by the world’s most recognisable painting, the LEGO Art Mona Lisa invites art and LEGO lovers to recreate Leonardo da Vinci’s masterpiece in 3D. This bold and unique interpretation comprises 1,503 LEGO elements and new colour hues to accurately reflect the colours used by da Vinci over 500 years ago, before the paint changed with age.
Additionally, the new LEGO masterpiece has been designed with a drum-lacquered gold, detachable frame so it can be hung on the wall and displayed along with other LEGO Art sets.

I’ve never been a Lego Architecture type of person, but WOW. Notre Dame definitely caught my attention. Can’t wait to make a video on it, showcasing all of its details! It’s so stunning! 😍

Great interview with the builder. His passion sold me. I’ll make space. I’ve been there too before and after the fire. It’s overwhelmingly impressive.

As a fan of historic architecture, I can’t wait for this set! I love seeing the passion and enthusiasm the designer has for his work. I’m looking forward to future architecture sets he’s designed.

The attention to detail and sheer enthusiasm on show here is thoroughly impressive! I'm not usually interested in architecture sets (despite being an architecture geek outside of Lego) but I might not be able to resist this one. I can't wait to see your full review!

This “following construction order” was something I had been suggesting for years in the post-build feedback surveys! One of my favorite series growing up was David Macaulay’s, where he revealed how castles/cathedrals/etc were built!

Next, Hagia Sofia or the Parthenon! Uves Stave Church (oldest viking church) in Norway would also be cool! I know that this is very Euro centric but they are objectively very beutifull buildings that also would be perfect for Lego builds!

I never thought Lego would actually be cool with making official sets based on churches, but I'm glad they are now.
After Notre Dame I want to see Orthodox Churches being made into sets next.

LEGO Eiffel Tower / LEGO Notre-Dame (spire) = 59 in / 13 in = 4.53. Eiffel Tower / Notre-Dame (spire) = 984 ft / 315 ft = 3.12. LEGO Notre-Dame should have been (4.53 / 3.12) x 13 in = 18.9 in to be in scale to LEGO Eiffel Tower. Almost 50% off. There's a drawing by Maurice Koechlin (the actual designer of the Eiffel Tower) that compares both, in his Wikipedia entry. Check it out.

Well LEGO, now that you’ve broken your “cardinal” rule of “no churches” you can go ahead and make a loooooong overdue church for the Winter Village series! 🙂

Lego has broken so many of their policies in recent years, that I don't think it really matters anymore.
In this case, it's a break in their policies I can actually get behind.

    • @frontenac5083

It was supposed to but Lego is a complete joke (although you'd have figured that one out by yourself by now).
Their supposed "policies" are regularly bent all the way around like pretzels according to the way the money's blowing.
(Sure, Lego's aim is to make a maximum of money, but no one forces them to come up with a these policies in the first place!)
Same thing with their variable-sweep policies regarding the representation of weapons, military etc.

It looks amazing but doesn't it go against Lego policies about religious buildings (I did notice how both Lego and designer went out of their way not to say the word "Cathedral" like not putting it in the name of the set, etc...).

The designer says in the video it's almost the same scale as the Eiffel Tower

    • @jeffreynunya4716
      @jeffreynunya4716 25 дней назад

@@heidikohne6895 It looks a little smaller scale than the Eiffel Tower. The real Eiffel Tower is about 4 times taller than Notre Dame, so a lego scale Notre Dame should be about 14 in (35 cm) to the top of the towers, or 19 in (48 cm) to the spire. The specifications say this is 13 in high, which I'm guessing is to the spire.
So it's about 2/3 lego Eiffel Tower scale.
