- Take a detailed look at the new LEGO IDEAS Motorized Lighthouse... it's perfect! The furnell lenses design honestly takes it over the top and makes it so authentic. The way the electrical components are integrated is once again perfect! I love this system style build and honestly, this set continues to grow on me!

$300 is much too steep, and I am glad people are talking about it. That is the only way to get our message across as longtime LEGO fans. I feel bad for the designer who may lose out on sales due to this insane price. Great review though! It looks amazing and I was excited about this release, but may wait based on the price.
To me this is the same value set as the tree house and it’s 20% more expensive which is on par with all the price increases. It sucks, but that’s what it is.🤷♂️

To be fair there is a new light and lens in this set which does boost the price a bit and then there’s the price increase stuff, without it, it would’ve probably stood at $250 which is a much more reasonable price but yeah these price increases reallyyy sucks
How about you look at it this way....it costs the same price as the daily bugle and twice the price of black smith idea set. Does that make any sense? That is insane and no it is not what it is. We decide to buy or not my friend. For me, forget it although Lego is and hopefully will remain my hobby! Hopefully more and more adult fans will stop or at least cut down on purchasing all these insanely priced sets recently released. Lego must reconsider their prices. Yes, perfect set with the most imperfect price :)
@@tamerkabes1551 Totally agree. I don't like this idea of, "Oh well, we can't do anything about it." When you have former LEGO designer, Tiago Catarino, say this price is too expensive, that is an issue.

This would be an instant buy for me if it wasn't for the price. Unless I see this set at a serious discount somewhere, I'm not going to get it sadly.

As a lighthouse fanatic myself, this set is just stunning. My only issue is the huge price tag. Obviously the electronic components are a little more expensive than most lego bricks but it's still far over priced. Another thing I would've loved to see is a fog horn.

A Lego sound piece hasn’t been used in around 15 years (to my knowledge), and a new lens piece has been used. They have used a mirror sticker, and 3 motors, which is why it got the price tag it got.
@@jdproductions6109 cap the prices of lego set a increase to supposedly the high cost of material although this is a lie since lego sales and revenue hasn’t chance due to this augmented price on material. The only reason for price to go up at lego is greed
@@ShuKurenaiBTS there is one point I forgot about. That point is the moulds. Every few year, the have to replace their moulds, and that isn’t cheap for them.
So glad you showed that in the dark so we could get the full affect.
I can just imagine your lego city, room lights off and the light house shining. Imagine if you had a Lego size batsignal shining at a wall just to one side of the statue of liberty as well?

This set is awesome with a lot of cool details. The mechanisms are cool.
You should make a behind the scenes video, like showing what equipment you use, editing videos, etc.
Oh my gosh, this looks like a perfect set. I absolutely love lighthouses, and I was so upset I missed the creator lighthouse, then I saw lego Ideas lighthouse on lego ideas website and I was praying for it to be aproved, and now it has been aproved! This is my true desire lego set.
The Lighthouse is awesome. I like the features of the fireplace and lighthouse. Glad it comes with all the light features. Great review.

Your clock is rotated to the left (counter-clockwise) by 90 degrees. XII (12 O’clock) should be at the top of the clock along with the hour hand pointing to 12.

This set looks amazing. As a kid I would visit lighthouses up in Maine and Canada, so this would be a nostalgia piece for me. Love the lights and details... not so big on the price though... still going to get it.
I don’t know what it is but there is something mesmerising about this set, lovely charm to it that I had no intention of getting but after seeing this video and finding out it actually lights up it’s just amazing and I will be getting it at some point. Fireplace looks so warm and inviting, I want to visit myself. Great video and it will definitely look good in a city 😀👍

This looks huge! Have you ever seen the old creator 3in1 lighthouse (set 5770) LEGO did a few years back? Sadly, on mine the light brick stopped working but the set itself is very interesting and was at the time very affordable
Originally I had zero interest in this set, but just seeing it up close, I’m absolutely sold. It’ll be awhile before I add this one to my collection but it’s definitely one I want now :)

I’m definitely gonna get it, but I wish they had an alternate set that didn’t have the lens and the motor for a lot cheaper, because that’s where the premium is. Regardless, that lens and motor is gonna be amazing for MOCs.
I doubt it will go on sale considering it's an exclusive.

The only way you will find this on sale is from ebay after someone already built it.
I built this yesterday in one sitting. I have a thing for lighthouses and clocktowers, and this is by far my favourite in my growing Lego collection.
Beautiful set, not so beautiful price. I've never seen a set that's received so much backlash on its price, which tells you there is a clear issue. Even former LEGO designer Tiago agrees that this set is indeed, overpriced. I can only hope LEGO will address this issue, as they are no doubt aware of our concerns.
But Lego doesnt care about us. They know that the fans will buy it anyway.
Tiago said in his review that he thought the cost would be between 250-300 and said that’s fair considering the electronics are included. Separately these parts would be at least $80 and everyone complained that the coaster didn’t come with these electronic parts lol
@@BradleyMorrisYT electronics are included which will raise the price, yea, but small, toy electric motors are NOT that expensive to make. I think us LEGO fans shouldn’t put up with that type of price jump mentality. These types of electronics are in tons and tons of other toys and they’re quite common. I get that we pay for the perceived value of such electronic inclusions, but again, that’s just the perceived value.
@@marcuschristensen1883 yeah but Lego doesn’t manufacture a ton of them like other companies because they are not in majority of sets they sell. So their production margins on these parts are alot lower than other toy companies where electronic motors are made in huge orders to keep prices down.

Incredible looking set. The first ideas set I’ve been interested in for a while. The fact that Souter Lighthouse is represented in the book at the start is awesome. I live 10 minutes from there! Nice to see some representation of my home town

I'd like to see a follow up video to this once you get the lighthouse placed in your city and show the lens turned on with the room lights off. I'm really curious to see how bright it is and how prominent among the city. This set is cool and I'd love to have it, but I do have one complaint. I sort of think it should have been USB powered instead of battery powered. For the price, I think it would have been better.

This is definitely one of the few non licensed sets that’s a day one purchase for me. Great set!
Living near Plymouth in the UK which has an important history of lighthouses I've been looking forward to this. Sadly I won't be getting it due to the price, unless I see it reduced at a later date. I did notice it sounded fairly loud in the last clip. Hopefully it's not as noticeable in real life.
Live in Plymouth myself so yeah the lighthouse is a big landmark, really do like this...
I refuse to buy Lego anymore after the latest price hike. And in addition, in my country I pay 30% more than in the neighboring countries. This really has become price gouging.

It’s an absolute beauty. As stated by everyone else; not such a beutiful price. One change I think id make personally is for the main light feature to be more a yellow tone.
Looks great, I finally treated myself to it. One tiny thing - your clock in the cottage is wrong. It has 3 o'clock at the top.

I'm really on the fence with this set and not because of price. Do you think it would look good with classic pirate sets/ships or is it too modern to display with?
I think it would go very well, even if it is not completely accurate.👍
I say use it as a base to then redesign the interior/exterior to fit the pirates theme. Historically, lxighthouses were “modernised” in the 18th century and pirates were around then too so yeah, go for it!

Lego has lost their goddamn mind on what pricing to put on items. I really really love Lego but I really also hope that this hurts the bottom line doing what they’ve done and drives down sales!

My issue is not with the price, as I'm content with the fact that it's due to power functions, more as I don't have much room for more vertical sets. I had to move everything around just to find a spot for my Loop Coaster... I need a basement.
Hey bricksie, I’m about to start building the moc castle from the 3-1 castle. I want to build it directly on a mils plate. I was hoping you would do me a favor and provide me with the dimensions side to side and front to back. So I know how many mills plates to start with.

Sure its looks good, but that what it. But the Lighthouse from Bluebrixx is way better in terms of Price and Pieces and interior. The Lego Lighthouse is way to Expensive in my eyes.
I think the “fire place” might be a oven because there’s a bunch of cooking stuff over it and there’s a tea pot on it cause of the cooktop but idk for sure
