    Thanks for sharing the life and routes of a Over The Road Big Rig Truck driver. I have never drove 500 miles in one day . This is amazing. Especially driving in the east coast. With Texas hail the size of a baseball. Then Oklahma and EF-5 Tornados with wind 300 miles an hour. Florida , with huricanes, sink holes and lots of snakes and aligators. In California, we only have earthquakes, floods, forest fires and on a rare occassion a EF-1 Tornado. Thanks for your stories. The Bigest place where there is Truck driving accidents is the , Grape Vine. Truck drivers driving here too fast. They burn out their brakes. They do not drive slow in low gear or use the Jack brake . I really do not even know what the Jake brake is. That is just something I read. Thanks for the videos. Amazing how you can drive 500 miles a day.

    Do you ever have to chain up ? If you do, that would be a pretty cool video for someone who doesn't know what a trucker actually goes through. Keep up the good videos.

    • @jackrabbit4383
      @jackrabbit4383 3 месяца назад +2

      Make sure the open end of chain hooks are pointing up away from the surface of your tires..the utube videos are great to study. I always used to start training in September with 25lbs dumb bells. The older you get the more you need weight training..chains are no joke 25 to 35 lbs each depending on the size of your tires. You got to take them off the rack in a blizzard. Install them correctly then when the road conditions dictate you have to take them off ..then each chain has a special order on the rack..you get one wrong..the other 8 or 10 or 12 won't fit depending on what state chain laws your in ...and I'm tire I'm old good luck. One old timers said to me..you put chains on to get out of trouble not to get into trouble

Accidents everywhere and it left off the New England coast as a Noreaster. Think spring!😊 Safe travels and God bless !

    Hi Kevin. The severity of that storm you ran into last weekend near Las Vegas NM seemed to catch everybody in the area by surprise. Our kids live in a small town near Santa Fe, NM. A bunch of activities in their town got scrambled with last minute cancellations and abrupt closures because everybody was surprised when the storm dropped about 5 times the amount of snow they were expecting.

  • @mikewatson4644
    @mikewatson4644 3 месяца назад +1

    One time I stayed overnight in Las Vegas, NM. Road was clear until just before Raton. South side of Raton Pass wasn't too bad, some snow not a lot. North Side of Raton Pass (downhill side for me) was 20 mph and a real mess. 13 miles to Trinidad, CO the hiway was just wet. By the time I got to Pueblo it was dry and sunny. You never know what you will get going over Raton Pass in the winter.
    Stay safe. Thanks for bringing us along.
