The first sentence "The friend that I want to introduce you to is away this weekend" correct one. because in defining clauses we do not use possessive pronoun such as his, her.
@@Menna.A See when we use defining clauses (which starts with that, who, whose etc,) in a sentence we don't use the possessive pronoun such as(his, her, etc...)...
Amazing, you were able to explain thoroughly defining and non defining relative clauses in 12 minutes! My teacher couldn't even do it in 2 weeks, thank you so much!
@AllahMuhammad(SAW) no, the second sentence has a 'her' pronoun where it shouldn't be. I had to read the sentence twice as well before I saw the mistake, haha
The video is good! Thank you! But, I think, your teacher is no worse than the presenter. 1.Sometimes the problem is the students. There are some, who can not understand this topic in his/her lifetime! 2.This topic cannot be clarified definitively, there will always be a lot of unclear things. In particular, due to the vagueness of the key phrase in the presenter's explanation "central=essential=information". It depends on speaker's and listener's individual interpretation.
I think so far this is the most helpful video explaining relative clauses excellently! Easy to catch up and full of examples with clear explanation. Thanks a lot!
I am a new English teacher myself and was looking for a video so i could explain this grammar to my students. After watching many of them, i can say yours was perfectly specific and easy to understand.

It might be the best video on youtube about relative clauses. And the true sentence in the last example is the first one because we do not use words like him/her in relative clauses.

I agree with you: I think it is non-defining because it is giving extra information about the daughter. It would also need a comma. So, They had one daughter, who is an actor."
