John Deere X350 won’t move forward or backwards - how I fixed mine

- Just wanted to post my experience fixing my problem with my John Deere tractor. If you’re having the same problem, maybe this will help. The diagram with the spring that I reference in the video can be found here: f01.justanswer...
The spring is #8 and the groove that it goes into is #11 in the diagram. I did the whole fix without needing to remove the deck. Pushing it onto car ramps helped with access in the front, but you could probably do it without it depending on your build.
Thanks man, I went down the rabbit hole on RUclips for this, did everything and never noticed the front belt off! Grateful for your video!
Great job and thanks for the video. Exact thing happened to mine but couldn’t see the belt off up front until I watched your video. Thanks so much!!
Thx for posting this video, helped me figure out what was wrong with my mower.👍👍
Thank you! I had the exact same problem, and this video showed me what to do. Problem solved without going to the dealer. One of the best RUclips videos I have seen.
I had the exact same problem and this helped me diagnose it without a trip to the JD dealer and weeks of waiting to get the mower back. Thanks!!
Glad it helped!
thanks i think that is the problem i have on my under 2 year old x330. i will check this out in the morning. nothing in the owner manual helped me like your video probably will. the belt was off the rear pulley but after putting it back on it was still very floppy, sloppy and loose
Thanks for posting! I had the exact same issue except the #8 spring came all the way off. Along with diagrams, your video helped me actually see where this spring goes.
Thanks for answer the question of how did it all come apart!
Good eye, thank you for video great information ❤
I had a stuck flip up and break off inside of my deck belt cover. It immediately threw my belt and locked up the spindle. I thought id lost a bearing and itd seized, but when i took the belt cover off it just fell out. Took me a few minutes, but im glad i didnt need to replace a spindle.
Thanks, that may be my problem. I'll have to check it out..
Nice work. Exactly what I needed Thanks
Thank you
Thank you, just had the same problem and couldn't find the front connection point.
thank you that spring got me lil
Thank you :) This will most likely help a lot 👍👍
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the great vid. I got the belt back on the front and rear pulleys but (looking from the back of the mower toward the front) the tensioner is pushed way over to the left. How did you get the tensioner to move all the way right where the spring can attach and still have the belt on the pulley in the rear?
Man I sure hope it's my spring. The trans belt is on and running but it engage. My Deere rolls with that push bar in or out. ( Whatever that's called.
I cannot find where to hook the spring up by the small pulley
@@elaineday9722 if you zoom into the video at around to 3:58 to 4:10 mark you can see the far and of the spring going into a groove. I’m having a hard time finding the exact diagram I used. But you can see the spring in the groove at that part of the video. Hope that helps.
I have a simplicity mower 20 years no problem not like my john deere .
Yeah it won’t let me zoom in
Thanks for the post. You saved me a lot of time.
Glad to hear it!
