Most people think of Prince as a singer and flamboyant front-man but he was an incredibly talented multi-instrumentalist and a virtuoso guitar player in his own right. He was a uniquely gifted musician and the world is a lesser place without him. RIP brother.
The Prince's face was hilarious. He pretended to faint in the middle of the song, but someone from the production didn't get the joke and cut off the guitar sound when he came back. He showed the guitar and slapped the strings to demonstrate it had no sound, and made that face. 'It was just a joke!! Quick, man, connect my guitar.
Prince was an exceptionally good guitar player, he'd been doing it since the 70s & everyone who saw him in concert was able to see him go off on the guitar, as I did. He played more than 20+ intstruments very well & played every single instrument on a number of his albums, as well as write the songs, produce & his incredible vocals. Also produced other artists & wrote a number of big hits for them. No one else like him.
Prince amazed the other musicians present. He had one sound check and improvised the entire solo. You can see the reactions from the others as he keeps going.
actually sound checks of Prince is a day session soundcheck..so its not a check its not rehearsed. If it is to soundcheck that with ELO and Petty they would become exhausted with his work ethics on stage...he left as ...dont worry Tom
Prince was inducted that year to RRHF Prince just did some sound check with the band, not a single rehearsal: the solo was absolutely improvised. Prince was left out of the (another stupid) list of greatest guitarists of all time by The Rolling Stone Magazine. Then this happened for the books of Modern Music History.
I heard they started rehearsing but Prince wasn't happy that Mann (E.L.O. guitarist who did the early solo) didn't trust him enough to handle the solos, so Prince told them he'd work it out on his own and be ready the next day. Also, the Rolling Stone magazine omission had fired him up to make that magazine eat crow. Long story short, I read he did practice the solo a bit on his own, but he does on-the-spot improvisation all the time so it was probably a bit of both.
Greetings and Love from Germany. Just one question...You did Steve Vai, Yngwie, Alip Ba, Hendrix, Buchanan, Vaughan. Why is here no Gary Moore on your channel.? For me, the greatest, the most soulful and emotional guitarist ever..
@@JoneRuiz awe, thanks for your feedback. What I didn't think about, the reason why you don't have a Gary Moore video could be that you already know everything about Gary and you only do first time reactions. Nevertheless, I really appreciate that you answered me. I wish you a peaceful weekend and stay safe
@@stefanstock953I definitely dont know Gary Moore, but im looking forward to do a reaction. Let me know which songs would good to do a first reaction.

Prince fan or not. He blew up that solo. Without question.
Only Prince, Jimi and Stevie Ray Vaughan have played with swag like that. Prince was INCREDIBLE!!
Dude, Prince has some of the best guitar work hidden in the background of his songs. He was so talented!

When I look at Prince, all I can think is damn.. that's what it looks like if a person got blessed with all of the "cool." RIP

Prince is a member of that small group of criminally underrated guitarists in rock.

The kid playing acoustic behind Tom Petty is George Harrison's (the Beatles) son Dhani.
He looks just like his dad!
Prince has style….Absolutely 😂
Prince WAS style

I heard that, after this performance he was put on that list, somewhere about #30
@@rubroken I confess that IDK and I think RS Magazine is to music like a banana to surgery. Their lists are hilarious.

It’s like prince was playing around with them and not even going all in! Just glimpses of greatness while Tom kept singing Choruses.
He got inducted to the I think the rock and roll hall of fame the same night of this performance.
I think you missed his guitar drop at the end just before walking off the stage.
