I started using an angle grinder for coping because I just couldn't get the results I wanted with a coping saw. Now, the results look very professional.
thanks a lot, i have tons of video clips from this last job, enough to make 5 more videos but editing has proven to be a challenge, its not easy for me but im learning.. im working on another video at the moment.... thank you so much for watching and commenting, i totally appreciate your input :)
I tried a new coping saw and the MDF is too soft and brittle to handle the tight edges. This process is what I am going to try next. Great example - THANK YOU!
@@michigancrownmolding Works great. Thank you again. I need to remove the guards so I can see better. Holding the grinder in the left hand forces the dust down away from your face as well - another good tip worth sharing.
@@bibberp4036 .. good point, but i have more control, better accuracy with my right hand, somebody should invent a opposite direction grinder for me :) lol
While that obviously works well, I prefer a barrel grip jig saw with a t 308BO blade cutting from the top side using my left hand to support the shoe about an inch off the work. It's definitely faster, a lot less dusty, and only a little smokey. Also, I can get all the fine details as well.
.. thank you I never heard of that technique, I will look into it, Steven, thank you.... check out my other video on my channel, "coping crown molding".. fastest on youtube!!..
You are using the wrong disc. That took way longer to cut than it should of and it burned the wood. Get the correct disc and this will go so much smoother and faster.
Great technique if you are doing stain grade work, but overkill for paint grade. Who does stain grade anymore? Everybody wants their trim and cabinets painted nowadays.
It’s extremely rare to install stain grade anymore, heck I can’t remember the last time I did.. but you’re right, I was basically just showing off :) check out my video (Coping Crown Molding) it’s the fastest on RUclips, 21 seconds Thanks for watching, maybe share it, like it subscribe, I’m trying to build my channel... Peace
Satoshi One Thank you for the response, , ive never tried that aggressive of sand paper as a 24 or a 36 grit, maybe that is why im burning up the 80 grit paper so fast.. ?... although, i could see a 24 grit being really difficult, meaning its so fast that it would be easy to make a mistake ?... thanks again for your comment, your input is greatly appreciated .

As usual, great work. Looks perfect! Quick question: what grit do you recommend for the flap disc?
It’s actually a solid sandpaper disc, and if you can get use to it, 40 grit works great
Thank you so much for following our channel ..

Great work. Wondering where you found those wide extension rollers for the DeWalt stand.
Thank you , on eBay ...., I love them you will to, bet
@@michigancrownmolding Thanks for the reply. I'll check Ebay and see if I can find them.
Glad your still making videos dude!
Hopefully you don’t make us wait as long for the next one 😎

Do you think there's a short cut to doing this with wooden skirting
I’m not sure I know what wooden skirting is ?
This method of coping is great. To avoid burn marks clean or replace the flapper disk.
. thank you, great tip!! .. Hey check out this video of the same thing... really fast coping, super fast ....

Very impressed using grinder. Usually use jigsaw or rotary tool for this. Cool
thank you so much, check out my other coping video, its called "coping crown molding, (fastest ever)..
Cut the straight part with the mitre saw or at least get close with the blade, cut it vertical…save a lot of dust and time.
Thanks that’s great advice.. thanks for watching
I was thinking just cut out straight part on the saw but then I seen the 3 grooves haha nice cut I’ve just started using grinder also , way quicker
thank you... check out my other coping video (fastest on youtube) its called "Coping Crown Molding" .... subscribe ?

Ain't nobody got time for that ! With MDF

I utilize the same technique and grinder (was the lightest I could find) but I use 24 or 36 grit disc’s👍🏻👍🏻

Cool way to do it but slower than coping it out. Im not bashing this method peace ✌
lol... oh, ok, got it..
Seems slow. Coping saw would be faster. Jig saw would be fastest
check out my video (fastest cope on RUclips) and then tell me that, k
Plus the top can't go to a point. Should be 90°. It'll either break, hopefully, or worst case it'll be higher then the baseboard it's butting into
Jig saw way better . coping foot
ruclips.net/video/O65RKzBu4IM/видео.html
Took fare to long , a coping saw would of dont that in half the time
It’s the fastest on RUclips , unless your video shows you doing it faster, and I haven’t seen it yet ??
