For me growing my grey is like receiving a Christmas present. You know your getting something great- you just dont know what it is. I love seeing what my real color is.
You are on point! I am so happy to see so many women your age leading women out of dying cycle that damages our hair and possibly our health. Wish I had role models like you when I was your age.
Thank you Vanesa! It's definitely much more accepted and celebrated lately. I also think the pandemic actually helped the movement since more people were forced to grow the gray. Small thread of silver lining!
My hair isn’t even as gray as yours but I’ve been trying to decide if I’ll let my highlights grow out so it will be subtle as you’ve said when it does get more gray. This is encouraging to see your video because it looks so healthy and pretty. You look beautiful!🌈
Your hair looks amazing. I'm a pandemic silver sister; 4 months in and I already told my stylist that I just want a haircut (salons are opening tomorrow in my state). I'm setting mini goals; getting through the summer; making it through the holidays, etc. without coloring. Wish me luck.
V. 1954 I’m 3 months in to pandemic silver, and the front of my hair is darker. I’ve had one haircut (last week) and told my stylist I’m keeping my Grombre . He was very supportive!
V. 1954 I'm with you. Probably am 10 years older than you (1944], so have a lot of white around my face. I will wait a few more months and maybe have my stylist add a few low lights to keep the nice texture I'm seeing right now.
Good for you. Just started my second attempt...almost 55 and ready now💪. Love your hair! Your video is an encouragement to me. I think the colored ends look like some I've seen that do color on the ends intentionally. Only suggestion is it's very distracting how much you touch your hair in your video.

I agree this is the best time to grow our your grey. The transition is softer then if you had a huge amount of gray coming through all at once. I have a lot more gray at the side and bottom part and less gray on top. I’m growing it out now because it might be harder if I was more gray later.
I get so much support from the people in my life, especially my male co workers (who are in their 20's and 30's). Every time I tried to go gray in the past and caved in they would ask me why and tell me to let it go. I am now dye free since Feb 20th and even though it is hard at times because my hair is naturally wavy/frizzy and my side burns(?) remind me of grandpa munster at times lol. All and all I am happy with my choice and I am excited to see how it will look once I am fully grown in. My hair is mostly white on top and in the back salt and pepper the farther down towards my neck. Thank you for sharing and your hair and you are beautiful.
Congrats on making it this far! And I’m not surprised by the supportive comments from young people. I think they have less ideas about how women “should” look than older generations. Good luck!
I love it! I’m transitioning to gray and started a RUclips to track the process. It really is a journey of self love, as corny as it sounds. 🤍🌪 I love your ashy salt and pepper!

It does feel so slow. I totally feel you! But I promise it's worth it. Every tells me they LOVE my hair now...getting past those few months is the hardest part. :)
I’m heading into my late 40’s and I have less gray than you, and I’m doing it. I don’t understand what “how much gray you have” has to do with anything. I’m doing it because I hate coloring my hair, and the sooner I get through this, the easier it will be as the rest of my hair transitions to gray or white. Your hair looks great! I’m 5 months in, and can’t imagine what I will look like at 16 months! I can’t wait! 😊
@@brookerobertsco in about two weeks, I will have my 2 year anniversary for going gray. I’m not sure why it says I made that comment a year ago. 🤷🏻♀️ Anyway, I love it! Very true about when down just wash it and admire 😂 works for me. Love my natural hair colour
Thank you!
Looks awesome !
Thanks Amy!
thanks for the uplifting words
You are so welcome
You look like Kate Middleton... beautiful! God bless you.
Wow, thank you! I've never gotten that before. I usually hear Anna Kendrick. 🤷🏻♀️ Either way a huge compliment! :)
Looks great, almost.like youve had highlights.
I'm into 3 mths grow out and have waist length hair, trying to avoid cutting it all off.
Hows the grow out going now?
Thanks!
Are u having a hard time taming it?? I am... I agree with u mine is salt and pepper and gonna be 50 I want to grow into it. Your young and brave but beautiful on u especially with your eyes
Thanks! I used to never use product in my hair - too lazy! lol But now I'm using smoothing products before I blow dry to help with flyaways. I've been pretty lucky that the texture isn't very wirery.
What product do you use on your eyebrows? Great video! Thanks
Haha! Thank. I just use a basic brow pencil in brown. I think it’s cover girl? I know nothing about make up so thank you!
Oh wow, just went to your IG and saw that you DID cut your hair soon after this vid (see my comment below). Another cut cut. 🤗
Yes! Thank you! I got really impatient. Now it's long again but all natural. :)
@@brookerobertsco Meant to say cute cut lol
I have a friend who let her hair gray naturally-she sometimes puts temporary color in her hair, so her grays are purple or blue, lol
Ummm...I wanna try purple when this growing out phase is over!
Brooke Roberts it comes out in about 10 - 15 washes. She has two teenaged daughters who color their hair constantly.
Looks like highlights
It's all grown out now! And I'm loving the look. :)
It looks like you deliberately dyed the ends. It looks good. I cant wait to see what my colour will be. I'm only 2 mths in and its yukk. I feel embarrassed
i know that feeling well. :) It will get better. Focus on doing yourself up in other ways - makeup, hairstyle, clothes - it will make you feel better.
Usually you get grey in the front first.
Yep, that's what's happened to me. :)
Looks great
Thanks!
I did a color remover for my old color, which really helped! No bleach.
Hello! With what and how did you do it? At home or professional?
So smart! I wish I'd tried some of these strategies. Live and learn. Luckily it's all grown out now :)
@@MyWadester sorry for the big delay. I did it myself.
@@leelulady2010 no problem! I’m all done with the transition! Yeah!!
Your hair is beautiful 👍
Thank you, lovely!
I feel like my hair and others grows slower than 1/2" per month.
Yeah. I don't really know how fast it grows. Just an estimate. But luckily it's all grown out and natural now.
...and what about your dazzling white teeth!? They are so pretty that I hardly even notice your hair :-)
Thank you! I always worry that all the coffee I drink will ruin them some day. 🤦🏻♀️😁
You look young but it's going to be beautiful
Thanks!
You look lovely.
Thank you so much!
If you got a bob/lob now you would be virtualy colour free
I actually chopped it off about a week after recording this. And now over a year later I'm ALL NATURAL! :) Woohoo!
@@brookerobertsco fantastic now your free
👍👍👍🙋🇬🇪
👍
I loved your message and advice. I did find the constant brushing your hair back out of your face too distracting for me to watch all the way. Sorry.
No worries.
👍😻
thanks!
Your nephew is complimenting you. Essentially, he thinks you aren't old enough to have gray hair.
Haha! I’ll take it
It doesn’t even look grey x
Oh but it is. :)
Looks so good and makes your eyes pop 😊
