It does add a certain credibility to his perspective... particularly in the field of horology. However, he doesn't rely on those awful intro videos where he bounces around like an instagram bitch (you know the channel I'm talking about).

Can’t speak for everyone, but I personally would prefer the occasional ads and your honest and independent views, to the sponsored content we see elsewhere, or, even worse, you give up on the channel. Everyone else? Thoughts, for and against?

I agree . There is a kickstarter watch ( 24 hours to go and 25K short ) that has been reviewed absolutely everywhere by all the mega channels . Lovely dials, shit quartz movement at @ $220 . You must have seen it reviewd everywhere .

Tim excellent recommendation, its a reference guide/book therefore the quality printing layout issues can be overlooked, the content is highly pertinent when purchasing a vintage a timepiece & makes the $40USD after the discount you have arranged for the guide seems inexpensive, as one mistake on a purchase is very costly. Great VLOG & thanks for the useful information.

Books cost money in the west . In Canada a paper back is $10 / $15 . A hard cover is $40 . We get ripped off . Sales tax is 13 %. . Keep up the good videos Tim !

I’m amazed anyone would search for such things....
I gave my 40 year old Submariner to my daughter like it was almost a throwaway item.
She wanted it because it was mine, but the new Rolexes are made better.....
    Thanks, looking very dapper today.

Hi Tim. You're probably the only watch guy I know who doesn't sound like an informational. That is very rare, so keep it up.
50 bucks is reasonable in my opinion, Tim. Any academic ish book cost a lot. On it's own merit, the information gathering and fact checking is considerable. The author has probably (but I don't know), spent years researching this field .I'm saying all this based on my own background in history consulting.

Always a pleasure. Have a great weekend. Also, and I know there are many German watches, but one of my favorites is the Sinn 556 series, especially the no-date ones with the applied indices, and at 38.5 dial-wise probably suitably for you, though perhaps too 'tooly'. My point? I'd love to see you do something on the 556. Should you be so inclined. In any case, thanks. I'm almost always entertained, and always charmed. And always looking forward to seeing what you might get up to next. Always a pleasure.

Buy a semi-vintage sub like a 16800 with a sapphire crystal, the price is still acceptable and relatively easy to find in original conditions.

Hello Tim as per usual another great video! You have a relaxed but professional style which is hard to emulate. Btw I have recently made a video on buying a 2nd hand Seiko in New Zealand if you are interested in hearing a kiwi perspective. At some point I will do one on my vintage watches from the 70s. Kia kaha! (keep up the good work! [In Maori])

Vintage divers are often in a very bad shape, no matter witch brand you buy. Getting new parts is almost impossible.
If you can live with the scratches and dings, certina diver are not that expensive
