    Use to go here all the time when I lived in the area. I remember when it opened. I also remember when a old couple crashed their car through the front entrance and into the escalators

    seeing this mall fall apart is so heartbreaking. spent some of the best memories here in the 2000s. the food was actually good too. last time i went there was a few years ago and i never realized until then just how dead it is

    Even though I've always lived out of state, I used to go to the area frequently to see family. Used to go to this mall all the time. Saw many movies and shopped there from 1998-2003 or so. It's sad to see it falling off the way it is. The Levi's outlet there is still awesome. Ill always grab a pair of pants when I go in.

    Was just there on the weekend. What you have is great for that time. There is nothing there now.

    I remember going there in the mid 90s and seeing Space Jam at the movie theater, I also remember there being an Oshkosh Bgosh there and a Big Dog store. I dont think malls will ever be as big as they once were, but it's sad to see a place I knew growing up become so barren.

    I only go there for the Bank of America ATM near the bottom floor east entrance.

    It wouldn't be a dead mall without a Bath & Bodyworks.

    They are collecting a ton of insurance on those empty stores!

    Once I saw those generic banners at the entrance, I knew this was a Moonbeam mall. Moonbeam has to be one of, if not the worst mall operator in America. They let the malls they buy fall into disrepair while making promises of redevelopment that never happen. Maybe their other types of properties do better, they have to make money somehow.

    i was gonna say it would make more sense to put the food court upstairs, so that anyone coming in to just get a bite to eat would have to at least walk past the shops... but it doesn't look like anyone is going there to eat either.

    • @AtoZRetail
      @AtoZRetail  6 лет назад

      Makes total sense. It would force the customers to go into the mall just to get to the food. If I was to design a mall I would put the high traffic areas in the center and make it to where you have to walk past shops just to get there.

    I use to come here when many stores were open and the Food Court was crowded with people. Laughlin was flourishing back then. I still come here but it's not the same..sad to say. I have been coming here now for almost 35 years or more. I couldn't live here (or in Vegas) because of the extreme heat, even with AC. Although I have stayed at virtually EVERY hotel here, I call the Coloradobelle Hotel Casino my MAIN base..****

    I remember going here as a kid. Riding around in the little cars. Playing in the arcade, seeing movies, and trick or treating there. When spiderman 2 came out there was a guy dressed as spiderman on the roof that came down and gave us web shooters. And I had a dream I was walking on some high beam there. That was creepy XD

    If the owners of the building would stop trying to raise the rent all the time it would may be have more stores. It's so sad to see it go down.

    I always got to Laughlin with my siblings every year for a get away and we've seen it lose more stores every year we go.
    Also, always thought it was weird that the food court was the entire 1st floor and everything else on the 2nd. Weird design choice, IMHO.

Btw I love the colorado belle woo wish I could go back to Laughlin, I miss the heat and the mini concerts they have by the river

    This is sooo sad my friend just went to their yearly trip to Laughlin and said the machines are so tight and so much changed just from a years time that we feel it’s becoming a ghost town and they are trying to hang onto their money as long as possible 😔 super sad especially since Vegas thinks it’s ok to come so expensive these days !

      Correct. The Colorado Belle is closed. I stayed there in 2018. Pretty cool place. I had a lot of fun in Laughlin and as you saw the outlet center was very quiet.

    The reason this mall is failing is because they want to charge an arm and a leg for rent. So its dying out. I just go to Vegas anyways.

    So what happened with this mall? I mean it’s dead but not super dead. It almost seemed like they were hiding and decided to come back out. Do you have any history on this mall at all?

    • @AtoZRetail
      @AtoZRetail  6 лет назад +2

      I found history on the mall but mainly just the prior name and the opening date. I’m not local to the city so I don’t know a lot. There wasn’t much about the mall online. At least I got the place on video to make up for the lack of info.

      CeCe W A lot if it has to do with casinos. Before San Diego git casinos, Laughlin was the place to go. In the past ten years Gap, Rebock, Dress Barn, Easy Spirit, Gymboree, a souvenir store, the perfume store, Kay Jewelers, Rockford Shoes, Styles For Less have all closed down. The movie theater is really nice. The food court at one time had a McDonald's and a Dairy Queen. The Quicksilver store has been closed for months. The store directly in front of the escalators was filled once as a Disney outlet, it lasted a skinny minute.

      Thanks for that update. I used to live up the hill in the residential area west and past the power plant by Aldape's Market back when the mall was being built and Laughlin was hoppin a bit as you said. Was working at Ramada Express when the second tower opened.

      I've been a regular visitor to Laughlin since 1989. At the time it was probably a good idea, because Riverside, Tropicana, Edgewater and Harrah's had just added more rooms and what is now Aquarius had just opened. But between the economy going south and the Indian casinos in Southern California that just brought doom.

    My ex wife opened one of the first stores in that mall in 1996. This was right after we got married and what prompted us to move to Laughlin. The mall was booming when it first opened. We didn’t last but a year in Laughlin. Fun place to visit, terrible place to live. Maybe it has changed.
