  • Well for those of you who watch my videos, you may have picked up on the idea that I lIke to surf. So, naturally being a guy that likes to make stuff, it only made sense that it was time to make my own surfboard. After a very slow surf summer with minimal waves with any real size to them, I was jonesing to make a fun mid length board that I could get into waves early on. I also wanted to still have some shortboard performance to the board unlike a longboard. Though this was not my first surfboard build, having only done one other, this one was a challenge to say the least. I had several issues along the way but was able to overcome each problem and in the end I ended up with a pretty nice surfboard that is fun to ride. I would recommend any DIY guy or gal that is thinking about trying their hand at building a surfboard to go for it. What a fun process and regardless of the end result, you will probably have a wave vehicle that will work in some form made by your own hands. The board I built is 7'8" twin fin, modeled after Channel Islands CI Mid Twin surfboard. the board works great and is super fun to ride. Watch video till the end to see the few small waves I was able to catch on this board. thanks for watching.... SHALOHA!
