  • We start Season 4, which features 6 Midlengths, with a board from one of the oldest brands in South Africa and a name synonymous with the South Coast, Wedge Surfboards. Making boards from the factory, situated on a small farm, deep in the sugarcane fields near Port Shepstone, since the early 70’s, it seemed appropriate to start with Wedge. As we started the shoot on the South Coast.
Winter is normally the time for incredible right point breaks on the coast, but unseasonal rain and the sardine run coming early, meant they closed the beaches and we had to head south to the small hamlet of Port Alfred on the South Coast. We scored reeling right handers over the days we had in PA.
The Wedge was a unique Twin Midlength, that surfed like it was made to charge big reeling waves. I fell in love with this very unique board, while Dylan Reddering, my special guest, struggled with the volume, but was still able to have some fun on this board. Proving that you should not be scared of volume on a midlength surfboard.
    My Stats: 5’11” and 112kg
    Board Stats: 7’x 22 1/8”x 3 1/8”
    Buy the Board: wedgesurfboard...
The Surfboards: Chilli - Midstrength, Channel Islands - Midlength, Wedge - Humpback, Natural Curve - Midlength Charger, Hurricane - Modern Midlength, Dutchie Surf Designs - Asymmetrical Midlength
Each board will feature in its own episode and I cant wait to share them with you.

Even after a few years, I seem to keep coming back to your reviews. This is the best I have seen you surf by far. Can't wait to get my first Wedge from Gary and Justin!

A Wedge was the best board I ever owned. The boys made me replica big wave Rob Machado copper board back in the 90’s. Loved the fins

@@seraajregal4663 Roosta has ridden Wedge boards basically his whole life, living on the same stretch of coast that the boards and family come from.
