USE THE VOICE LETS GOOOOOO
You know it, Ricky
Collab video would go crazy
@@thebnduholy shit, two of most talented dudes on synth/music YT !!! That would be absolutely epic
I second Ricky’s sentiment. Definitely use the voice tons more Jon..
Loving the channel bruv!! Keep up the good worx!!!
Bless 💥🔈🎶🔈🎶🔈🎶🔈
I was wrong too. Modern PCs are good. Done editing these episodes with scissors and scotch tape...
thanks for watching everyone!
Your videos inspired me to get rid of 80% of my gear and make beats with a straightforward, focused setup again.
I love this
What all did you have and what did you step down to?
Do you feel like there's more music and less fiddle faddle?
@@TampaReddI had more than 60 synths and drum machines at one point. I ended up spending all my time maintaining the setup instead of making music. I put everything except Push 3 and a handful of synths in storage and started selling things off. Now I am free to make music again., and I made 16 new beats in 2 weeks. Less is indeed more.
Quick Q@@XanderEwald:
How do you, or maybe don't, structure your beats?.
Intro, Chorus, Verse, etc.
Chorus, Verse, Build Up, etc?. 💁
I struggle phrasing anything past 16 bars. 😅
@@0N3DR3ADI know you didn’t ask me, but my advice is to use reference tracks. Until it starts coming naturally, there’s no shame in “stealing” the structure of a song you love.
Yep!!! That trill was EPIC!!!
You make it look so easy....I have lost my way the past 5 years. Over complicate things so much that I have lost my creativity.
I need to get that part of me back...using my studio and my instruments to make creating music fun again rather than it feeling like work. Spending hours trying to learn something instead of actually just making music!!!
This was the perfect reminder I needed....so thank you for that and keep on inspiring all us music creators!!!
🔥
Have fun. That's the mantra that has carried me through the years and still does to this day. thanks for watching
"You make it look so easy" - The miracle of editing.
@@pronoun_dilemma Just last week I streamed live while I created two tracks. If you want to see what I do without editing, you should check that out. That being said, the editing on this channel is essential, amazing and it's been great working with Schnoodle. He's undoubtedly made the process much more digestible for an audience.
@@pronoun_dilemma True....but still have to be excited to make music in the first place...that is where I am struggling at the moment.
I love watching others for inspiration to get me back on the right track.
=)
@@jonmakesbeats Oh great, I didn't know you do that. I'll check that out.
That little bass trill when you first brought it in was SO good. Loved it.The whole thing has a really hazy, soft soporific vibe to it. Big fan.
Thanks for checking it out t
Bro, even though I’m a huge fan of your Octatrack workflow, I gotta say I’m LOVING that you picked up the MPC🔥 Amazing video 🤘🏻
OT isn't going anywhere but it's nice to have variety on the channel, for sure. Thanks for watching brother and hope your recovery is going well.
Indiana killing it
Ayeeee thanks for stopping by
I think you just became the best MPC RUclipsr. You deserve to have a MPC X SE.
Thanks for watching. Yeah would love to mess around with one of those for sure!
@@andywalkswithme9550 I love Jon but-
Marlow Digs MPC Head is the best on YT. Bro is goated
@@TheRealVRA nope, his drums sound mediocre, hence he is a youtube creator and not a professional producer who made classics
@@StatetrooperBillyBill 🤡
There is no such thing as a mpc xl sorry
Killing it. Told ya. Akai has been listening to its customers the last several years. I haven’t even been using my MPC recently. Once 3 drops, I’ll come back to it. Sometimes just a daw and plugins brings you back to basics.
3.0 is really a gamechanger for workflow
Is the arrange view out now with 3?
@@kaitsu9608yes but only in beta. Gotta grab files from akai to update
Mate the moment you put that bass in....ooooooweeeeee!
Would love to see you do a little verse over these beats sometimes as well, i've had TED talk and Afraid of Us playing on the regular these last few weeks.
the use of the stylus is genius man, great video!
Not the first to do it! Dibiase was the one to tip me off to that
This might be an addition for myself - fat fingers are fat. Love stand alone, my only issue since the 3 beta is the screen space is getting cramped and I'm just not agile enough.
Whether you're on the octatrak or the MPC you're dropping mad knowledge on us in every video, I learn something new every time. Thanks for how much you giving to the beat making community.
I appreciate you recognizing that. Thanks so much for watching
Thanks for the follow up video, the MPC ONE is propably the best MPC ever made for a normal bedroom producer that does not need 8 outs for a not existing mixing table :D
It’s definitely a good one
This is the best beat I’ve heard on RUclips in a very long time. Seriously beautiful work.
Wow that's big. Thanks for the kind words and for watching
this standalone DAW/hardware combo is such a cool direction!
Agreed. Thanks for checking it out
that bassline brought it together so hard. ooooft.
That’s when I knew
That's why I never add my thoughts on a beat until I've added the bass cuz theres times where I think the beat is ass until I add the bass and everything just works and I end up creating some of my favourite beats
The "Save" icon is actually one of my favorites on the Home Screen, it's definitely a Go To feature that keeps me calm as I cook lol!! You killing those keys bro, very VERY Dope!!🙏🏾✊🏾💚
Every sampler should be able to save
not gonna lie, when the ice sound effect hits every time you say cool is very..... cool
Desired effect!
ANNNNNNDDDD THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE!!!!!!!!! Appreciate you Jon 💯.
Thanks for watching
Just a quick Story. I was at a friends house smoking weed 15 years ago or something. when we all were lying paralyzed on the couch he put on a record ( cassette on vinyl) and i was like who the hell is that guy. fell in love instantly and i've been listening to you ever since. Now i am 36 and happy you're still doing your thing. Never thought i would ever see you having a youtube channel like this lol. crazy times. You are a Gem to the scene. Hope you feel like rapping again one day :). Greetings and much love from Germany
Great content as always. You recording it on tape then speeding up or slowing down has been a staple and one of my favorite parts, please bring it back
slowed down part is at the end! But I see what you're saying. We're always playing around with formatting to make the best experience for the audience.
long time fan. so incredibly fucking cool! definitely one of my favorites thus far!
Yeah same here. Thanks for watching!
I hear J.Cole on this 🔥🔥🔥❤️
Im beyond happy that you're starting to create MPC content. Im picking up alot of helpful tips from these vids. Thank you.
thanks for watching!
What a great machine that MPC is! Wish i had that talent to create beats.
Took 20 years
Thank you, Indiana.
Jon, my man! Love your videos, but will we ever hear some more rap from you?
"Afraid of Us" and "That's O.K." are some of the best hiphop-songs I know of!
Much love and appreciation to you!
Indiana looks a lot like Darren… I’m onto you..
Always inspirational, keep creating brotha

Spacey and delicious, great textures. Awesome beat, thanks for sharing!

Heck yeah! Another sick beat on the mpc!

Awesome beat, love it!

So inspirational, golden beat out there

Wohaw! This one is one of my fav from ya!!!
Thanks for checking it out!
crazy fire dude. trying to get back into music production and you're fanning the flames of inspiration. cheers brother
Hell yeah . Have fun!
Indiana JonMakesBeats never misses.
Just fire bro.
Thanks Ian
Bro that ping pong loop for drum breaks is actually dope. Keep that atmosphere and background noise and shit
One of the best producers thought I knew that by now 🧠
Ping pong looping is an underrated part of the tool kit
@@jonmakesbeats honestly never used it before but im gonna have to fuck with it for sure.
You are the GOAT bro I've been listening to from the vaults all week
That tonal shaker goes crazy
You are becoming my favorite RUclipsr for music production. You’ve also solidified my purchase of a Waldorf iridium… keep bringing the 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks, Jack!
this beat is insane. Always so inspiring to watch
Thanks for checking it out
Motivating...✌🏾
Thanks for watching
I wish I wasnt a knucklehead so i could learn how to use one of those new mpcs.
The beat is fire as always Indiana
3.0 makes it a lot easier to learn in my opinion
@@jonmakesbeats Naw Indiana I'm still too dumb 😂
I feel like the journey with the mpc is a very unique one. Its a very special instrument mos def
3.0 helped a lot. My criticisms of 2.x still stand…too horizontal. 3.0 make the workflow more vertical
you can actually layer the other kick directly over the kick chop from the break and trigger them both at once. just learned that and it's super dope. any sound basically...layer over layer
Yep it was 4 layers in mpc 2.0, and in mpc 3.0 and up its 8 layers per pad. Crazy shizz.
Yeah but in this case not ever kick slice on the break was the same. So I’d have to do the layering for each instance. Easier this time to make it separate
@@jonmakesbeats ah, yes, indeed.
I Love U man
Be blessed and healthy so u can continue delivering us those dope contents man
Thank u Jon
That Waldorf sounds sooo good 🤯
It’s a good one for sure.
Fire as always!
Thanks for listening
Dope. Very creative sir.
Thanks for checking it out!
@jonmakesbeats thank you for making it. I have a live 2 and I really should be focusing more on learning it. You're a master, using a different tool. I appreciate you sharing your process. Have a good day.
Cant wait for your next video jon, ty for the music ❤
The next one is a little odd but I think it’ll be fun
🔥🔥🔥🔥 Yea Indiana! Go crazy. (MPC ONE is the best of them all) I get flack about it. It feels the most like the OG's and has the right amount of buttons. Ergonomics of it is nice. As fast of you think of it, you can do it. Glad you used the voice. You can make whole songs on it - In 3.0 You gotta take your audio and send it to a drum track and trigger it from a pad. Then you have endless space with disk streaming. Good video bro!
Thanks for the tips man and thanks for watching!
Sick beat, Indiana Jon :)
Thanks for watching
jon is never not nailing this shit
Thanks for watching
That bass hit and I just smiled ❤
That's when I knew
you did it.
Thanks Tony. You get it
I got a PO-33 KO! And have been making cool lo-fi beats on it this past week. It's pretty sick. I may have to upgrade to an MPC One eventually. Thanks for the inspiration Jon!
Thanks for watching
Jeez you make it look so easy bro. Dope track as usual!
Thanks for listening, Chris
Nice work🎉

Ayyyyeee Indiana shoutout let’s go
Yeah definitely feels like an Indiana beat
Indiana just has that unmistakable Indiana flair
So we've had Gary and Indiana. Can't wait for Michael and Freddie.
That voice is angelic ❤.
Indy!!! Thanks for another great video. I’m falling in love with my MPC one again
Thanks for watching
“Fall Morning on Kepler-452b ” is what you should call the beat.
These vids calibrate my mental state
That’s great to hear. Thanks for watching
love seeing the MPC being used, still haven't moved to ver. 3 yet, but I'm getting close to trying it!
little buggy. but its awesome
@@ryantodd144 I wonder how many betas will be released before the final version?
I’m sure not even Akai knows that . That’s the point of an open beta
@@jonmakesbeats troof.
Great again!
Thanks, Zazna
Imagine running your beat from MPC One... and doing a whole rap.. verse, chorus, ad-libs and everything in the Octatrack. Sync the two boxes. Might be dope. Keep rocking, Indiana.🤘
Definitely something to think about!
Sounds amazing❤
Thanks!
Welcome home.

Whoaaa! i'm not done vibing, upload a 5 hours loop of this
Haha I can’t do that but I can direct you to my Patreon. There’s over 100 songs to stream and download, including this one. Thanks for watching
Indy done it again 👏
Thanks for the shoutout as an Indiana native myself 😃 I have a question for you, I seem to keep finding myself stuck in four bar loops with only adding an additional layer or two after every 8 to 16 bars, how do I get out of that and how do I make a song feel more like a song to me?
It’s hard for me to verbalize how I do song structures. I don’t really think beyond “what do I want to hear next”
Very nice sir
Thanks for listening
I've left the computer and am just in the mpc live now, guitar, bass, vocals all in the live. I get ideas down way faster plus i can mix different tempos together, doing that in daw was a pain. Great beat.
Thanks for checking it!
The mpc is fire 🔥 I love it ❤️
Thanks man
that snare is so nice.... get some vocals on this!
I did!
Nice Work!
no jokes here. this is just a stone cold beat dude. gj
thanks for listening!
Wow this that shit Wayniac
Thanks for watching
“We named the dog Indiana..”
🤣
Eyyyy! I kinda hated my mpc because arranging was a nightmare. Now having an arranger is really a game changer. It’s such a powerful stand alone unit and it has the best pads on the market. I miss my Mpc one with all the buttons. The live 2 is sick, but the one was just more fun with all the button per function. I see some people making little battery kits for the mpc one which I think I would be a game changer.
If it bothers you so much then you should probably find someone else to do the arranging instead of your mom.
Spelling error game goes crazy. Jokes aside I do like the One because of the butttons
@@jonmakesbeats lol!!!! Shout out mom
Got my shirt on!
Let’s gooooo
MPC one is a monster . Best machine for sampling and sequencing around .. Especially for any OG who is transitioning from a Roger Linn MPC
I’d say the Octatrack gets the edge on sequencing for those who have an open mind
Commenting for the algorithm. Also, your shit is dope. I wish you well.
Lovercraft
Thanks for that. Can use all the algorithmic help I can get
some Memory Lane of Nas vibe here, fire
I can see that
🫡 great work!
More voice sampling!! Drop a voice sample pack Jonny!!! Beat reviews with it would be fire
Sounds good! I love the Mpc, I was mostly a Deluge guy but now I feel way more of a MPC dude 😅
never thought of using a stylist thats smart
Dibiase put me on
Another banger 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
BANGER!!!!!!!
Ah yeah please invite Indiana more often 'cause this beat is the freaking fire. ❤ It's not the tool; It's the artist that makes the magic.
Indiana definitely did his thing
@@jonmakesbeats tru dat bro. I couldn't find Indiana's Patreon so I decided to join JMB's Patreon instead. Word is that the guy's even more fire. Can you imagine?
I like seeing you use the MPC, I'd be curious to see what overlap it has with the SP404mk2
Like a comparison video? I don’t really do those. I have a few 404mk2 vids on The channel though!
@@jonmakesbeats and that’s why I like your channel, no clickbait bs. I’ll check those sp404 vids out to see the differences. keep doing you, Indiana :)
