5:36 Nice little thatcher CX-4 in the background
I loved it when John simply flew the float plane and took the view on an adventure.
Wow. Wow.. Wow.. I like this aircraft
Sitting in the shade watching a parade of planes!
Who was the blonde woman helping the auctioneer?
She worked for the auction company.
Got some buyers form germany...cooooool
Didn’t look like it went well, loved the part when the asked the owner if he would negotiate and he replied that’s what the auctioneer is doing lol
Cheers for the Video! Forgive me for chiming in, I am interested in your opinion. Have you researched - Ponillian Intellective Position (Sure I saw it on Google)? It is an awesome exclusive guide for finding government auctions near you minus the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my work buddy at last got great success with it.
I will buy these aircraft
Hah! The people towing that yellow comanche went past the tow limits and broke the scissors. You'd think they would have people that are experienced at towing different makes and models taking care of moving the aircraft.
Plus, did you notice the guy putting his back against the prop to stop the plane from rolling any further.

These guys don’t seem to know anything about airplanes. I’m sure they broke some other stuff that you can’t see til you inspect it! If you are at an airshow just walk around and look for sale signs and talk to the owner you don’t need these guys?
2:09 The Man on the Background. Oh Shit. . 😀
11000 hours is better than 2000 and sitting for years with the elements
True
How can I buy a plane at this auctions? Can someone tell me?
No way would I buy a plane without having multiple pre inspections.
I bought a sweet old Beech 23 Musketeer earlier this year. Test flight, review the logs, fresh annual, decent hours on the engine and airframe, nice upgrades (GPS, engine monitor), good pre-purchase inspection, priced right, deal!
Laura Halliday but I'll bet it wasn't in an auction. You inspected, you examined. You knew what you were getting. In an auction, you're getting a pig in a poke.
Scott Honigmann
Why MULTIPLE inspections. Don't you think a capable A&E wouldn't be able to give you an accurate report with one good inspection?
I totally agree!
If you cant stand the heat...
Exciting ......but, some are too old for today's air traffic requirements...anyway, thanks so much for sharing.
what current air traffic requirements are you speaking of?....nothing ads-b wont fix
Who were the military types ground handling the aircraft? The one guy was dressed in RAF desert camo with an RAF beret and an RAF stable belt. Very strange....
A 1300 hour Lycoming is not a "run-out" engine. It had a Lycoming O-320-D2J which has a 2000 hour TBO. Now the airframe is another story. 13k hours is insane.
Wing spars to say the least
No one mentioned the maintenance log books, hmm.
Buying a plane without going through its books and NTSB record. might as well go buy an air frame. And never knowing how the engine runs.... This is an Ultra bad idea.
King Daniel Usually auctions like this let bidders inspect the plane in and out, and usually they allow them to look at log books. If I'm not mistaken, the owner of the plane also has to provide all information relating to airworthiness before bidding begins. But I definitely agree with you, bad idea to buy something without knowing the history.
records are available in print form before the auction to help you pick the right plane.
@@airsoftboi909 This A&P says test flight before I sign the books.
LOL! She really thought that an 84 c-172 would be worth 45000????????. With that high of time?????? Silly!
Riskey
Corrosion is ignored or painted over.
Where is the next auction ?
Small crowd. Mostly the sellers sitting in the bleachers watching to see if their plane sells. ...few buyers. Most planes have un-disclosed and too high reserves. Hard to find an auctioneer with both the skills to work the psychology of auctioneering and the specialized aircraft knowledge you need to gain buyer confidence.
NUTS!!
Bananas!
The action guy is tom hanks lol
Matthew Keller Aa
People getting a expensive education.
2:50 Where is "Or-Gone" ??
North-West of Oz.
I don't think it is wise to buy an airplane at auctions. not only you have the regular costs of buying an airplane, you also have the surplus costs of the auctioneers too
Auction is a stupid idea for GA. No buyer wants to buy an aircraft this way.
Yeah, the concept didn't last.
there are way more than 10k c172 ever build! 3:14
Yes, that's exactly what he said.
more like almost 45k
Very hard to watch due to terrible audio, sad :(
Supereportagehenri
The only airplane auction I would bother with is one with "no reserve". Otherwise, its a waste of time. Did you notice all the planes that actually went to a buyer? Uh...like, zero.
Nice
very heplful in thee.jesus bless
A whole 3 decades...........
Same is buying anything
the guy running the auction needs to bone up on aircraft history if he's going to toss out facts on video..."over 10,000 172s built since its inception in the 60s"?
This A&P guy, says auction aircraft is you bought it, log book doesn't show guts of the plane you cant see. I charge 800/1000 $ prebuy, 2/3 days inspection. FAA, A&P signoff logs, mandatory for airworthy. The sky can be a dangerous place, and the ground is where to only land the airplane. I Grounded many aircraft. crashed and dead, A&P's signoff in jail. Owner is not held.
Auction format in this manner can kill the value of more valuable and significant aircraft. I'd liken it to selling a Ferrari at a Yugo dealership. Just the worst, wrong, and cheapest buyers and circumstances. Maybe a good place to dump cheap junk.
Why am i watching this?
Why are you posting
Absolutely horrible production in what is normally are normally well produced presentations ... no audio interface to the auctioneers audio... no graphic followup of the sales price... you need some EIC help there in producing video of this type... I felt like I was watching a video of comedy where not only could I not hear the comic but was prevented from knowing the punch line... What did the planes sell for against your estimates???
a scary waste of time and money.. you should never bid on something like this. it should be inspected for.air worthiness and all logs, injections should.be available. this is going to hurt a lot of potential buyers who have no clue about costs... ouch
Over. Priced old. Planes
Time pressure of those auctions only favors the seller
Lord just give me STOL plan and I'll be happy!
You can zero time an engine but the airframe is anybody’s guess until you take it apart. Risky business buying this way.
Backround noise too loud. Junked video
Would've enjoyed it but couldn't understand the narrator. We all knew it was an auction so next time please turn down the background noise, please!
Everything was WAY overpriced.
Brian Johnson I’d buy a Comanche for 40k.
HE CALLED IT ORRGON I HATE HIM now!!!
America, where everything eventually gets mispronounced.
I hate everyone. You'll never out do me.
Great expectations, terrible audio.
Say again?
I'll sell my old 67 150 with o-200 in it w/1450 hrs on it through them for 45 G's
I got my 1947 ercoupefor free.... instead of paying I used my back and worked a deal out and in turn spent 6 months working for it!
So you payed for it then.... In man hours rather than directly with cash. Either way, you have payed...
That's exactly the fkn same dude! You payed with a form of capital.
Couldn't understand a word being said.... Bad
Welk, hob bout ef tog lstni hader?
