The award winning elephant herd. They are most tenacious animals I know. They tried every trick in the book to pull out the calf. They tried to drain the water by drinking, tried to slide the calf on the poopoo and finally getting into the pond itself and risk sinking in the mud , and eventually pulling the poor little calf off the pond. Bravo.
Haa I wondered why she was shitting..I don't think that qill make it less slippery.....or will that.. not sure Quality of elephant poop..baby was not smart enough ti hold onto their ankle...she gave him for that right?

She also got shirty with her aunts/sisters as they gave her space. Then they returned in arguing mode! Still, a uncomfortable 9 minutes to sit through.

I have to smile though, it reminded me of my aunts and uncles at Coney Island, NY in 1957, when one of my cousins, age 7, was being dragged out into the ocean by the undertow. My uncles were struggling to reach him, as the waves kept knocking them back. My aunts just screamed on the shore, as if screaming helped. He was rescued eventually.
My heart was racing, I could see and hear the anxiety in them, It's just amazing how they stick together. I don't understand how anyone could think of harming these beautiful animals. Some people could learn from elephants behavior!!!!

They are kind to each other and go out of their way to save their niece or nephew! I'm sad that people are killing them for their tusk's. I hope we can stop this from happening before it's too late and there are no more of those amazing wonderful elephants left on earth!

Maybe they let the baby train at first to find its way out alone, also training its muscles, coordination and body. She even showed him several times how to walk and push himself out of water. But when "you can do it alone"-training time was over they decided to step in and find another way out.
I wondering why they did not go in the water to push the baby up. why did she crap on the baby and looks like she was covering him up like he was dead or could of been marking her territory. My heart was pumping hard just watching.
The elephant calf saved due to the different Technics used by one elephant. First using back legs to pull the calf. Lastly entering the water and doing the job.

Who am i to complain the dizzy video? All i have is gratitude for having a chance to watch this amazing rescue moment of elephant herd to its calf.
