The term “God fearing” isn’t us Christians literally fearing God. It’s a metaphor to say that we’re actively worshipping Him and respecting Him because He is our Lord and Savior. In some cultures there are dance traditions where men wear heavy makeup. In those cultures, for centuries women were not allowed to dance publicly, so you had men dressing up and acting like women to fill woman roles in dance dramas, and they were held in high respect and esteem.

Here's the real J: Let's say god did create us, or at least coaxed evolution into our direction a little. Realistically, a being such as this would be magnitudes larger and more complex than what we could even imagine. Such a being, if it really were capable of outright creating life, would be nearly infinite in its mind. It would be incredibly smart (though not all knowing, because some things cannot be known with other knowledge already being known, see Heisenberg, and knowing the future is impossible). It would also be incredibly wise, having had at least 13 Billion years to think about things while waiting for rocks to smash into eachother. Based on this, we can establish that God, if he exists, is very complex and deep in his thinking. I'd say it's a pretty good guess that he's either benevolent or a narcissist, otherwise he wouldn't have created us, and narcissism is very unlikely for such a vast thing. If he is all those things, he is most likely almost incapable of condemning anyone. He would understand why you don't believe in him. he would understand why you don't follow his book. Literally all he'd want would be for you to see the points in your life where you seriously went wrong, like that time you punched Billy in the shoulder in high school because you wanted him to suffer, and know in your heart that it was a shitty thing to do. He also wouldn't be petty or impatient, as time is no object for him. for instance, maybe he takes like ten years for every person who dies and just works through their life with them, point to point. Basically, I imagine god to be like the greatest pair of parents, who make you feel loved even if they're disappointed in you.

@@alondrafonseca1034 The only place where the bible overtly states that "gender" is part of gods design is in Genesis, which is part of the old testament, which is technically not canon in christian theology and intended to be used as a reference when reading the new testament. It is sort of like how Warhammer and Warhammer 40K are "same universe" but the stories of neither are canon in the other. Warhammer's chaos gods aren't the same as the ones in Warhammer 40K, or how Marx and Engel's works are built on the works of Hegel, but that doesn't mean that Hegel's philosophy is a precedent for understanding Marxism, or that Hegelian dialectics take precedene over dialectical materialism within Marxism. The bible was supposed to be an update to the torah, Jesus was described in the new testament as a second coming of god to instate new rules. It is actually pretty heretical to use bullshit from the old testament as a justification for breaking the teachings of Jesus. These bigots make no sense, but then again christianity went on a downwards spiral every since it took over the roman empire and became a religion of power rather than a religion of struggle. Really? Their mad that makeup is "no longer for woman". Makeup has been used by humans for as long as we have been alive, and it has been used by both woman and men! Even tho modern marketing says makeup is for woman, it was never just for woman. Men can use makeup to look more masculine, and woman can use makeup to look more feminine. Also, men can use makeup to look more feminine, and woman can use makeup to look more masculine. Makeup was never gendered, and it never should have. Just because it's weird by modern society, doesn't mean that it wasn't used in the past by people of any gender. Makeup is genderless. Keep it that way.

Here is something else, modesty(the Greek word is Kosmos) in the NT isn't referring to nakedness or shortness of clothing. It actually refers to dressing appropriately for a situation, whatever that may be. In other words, it varies from culture to culture, place to place. Hence why there's no "dress/length code" in the Bible. That's why people need to study historical, cultural context, read things in context, and study the original languages of the Bible. 98% of English translations, have someone's own theology added, by mistranslating the original work.

I'm a straight female who identifies as a woman, but I don't like it when I hear something is feminine/masculine so you shouldn't do it. I find that people tend to be more willing to accept when a girl does something traditionally masculine than when a boy does something traditionally feminine. My dad used to make fun of my brother for cooking, cleaning, washing dishes and doing laundry and then say things to me like it is your job. It made my blood boil because I think these are all really important life skills that everyone should know regardless of gender. It is part of growing up and learning how to take care of yourself, so I don't understand why people still have such a 1950s mentality about it. I also think women deserve better than to become the unpaid personal maid of a man-child who's mother did everything for them once they get into a committed relationship. I personally like it when men can function on their own and also proactively help with domestic tasks. It makes me feel like they respect me and value that work as an important contribution to the relationship.

If we were meant to be naked, we’d have fur, wouldn’t we? If people were walking around buck naked a million years ago, we’d be extinct due to extreme weather conditions and all sorts of predators. People wore clothes as a survival mechanism, to protect their bodies from heat, cold, from being visible to predators (whether animal or other humans), from skin infections (which could easily kill you off). The human race survived and evolved despite their lack of fur and fragile skin/bodies. Why? Because they learned to cover up. Even Neanderthals wore clothes. Source: Science. Being ‘naked’ out and about is not ‘evil’, it’s plain dumb, and it’s wrong because it goes against common sense. In some cultures there are dance traditions where men wear heavy makeup. In those cultures, for centuries women were not allowed to dance publicly, so you had men dressing up and acting like women to fill woman roles in dance dramas, and they were held in high respect and esteem.

Yeah, I was always taught that God loves diversity, and that's why He made every human to be different. And that He wants us to be truly joyful, and that He's "with the broken-hearted and saves those that are crushed in spirit."
Here's the real J:
Let's say god did create us, or at least coaxed evolution into our direction a little. Realistically, a being such as this would be magnitudes larger and more complex than what we could even imagine. Such a being, if it really were capable of outright creating life, would be nearly infinite in its mind. It would be incredibly smart (though not all knowing, because some things cannot be known with other knowledge already being known, see Heisenberg, and knowing the future is impossible). It would also be incredibly wise, having had at least 13 Billion years to think about things while waiting for rocks to smash into eachother.
Based on this, we can establish that God, if he exists, is very complex and deep in his thinking.
I'd say it's a pretty good guess that he's either benevolent or a narcissist, otherwise he wouldn't have created us, and narcissism is very unlikely for such a vast thing.
If he is all those things, he is most likely almost incapable of condemning anyone. He would understand why you don't believe in him. he would understand why you don't follow his book. Literally all he'd want would be for you to see the points in your life where you seriously went wrong, like that time you punched Billy in the shoulder in high school because you wanted him to suffer, and know in your heart that it was a shitty thing to do.
He also wouldn't be petty or impatient, as time is no object for him. for instance, maybe he takes like ten years for every person who dies and just works through their life with them, point to point.
Basically, I imagine god to be like the greatest pair of parents, who make you feel loved even if they're disappointed in you.

Back then, genetics were very new and fresh, their kids could have children with each other because there would be no genetic ramifications. But just because it is in the Bible, doesn't mean God approves. Relationships of that sort between brother and sister was a normal thing among people back then, just like polygamy was, before the Hebrews came about, everyone was pretty much just pagans, some pagans were chosen by God to live differently.

The bible was supposed to be an update to the torah, Jesus was described in the new testament as a second coming of god to instate new rules. These bigots make no sense, but then again christianity went on a downwards spiral every since it took over the roman empire and became a religion of power rather than a religion of struggle. I'm a straight female who identifies as a woman, but I don't like it when I hear something is feminine/masculine so you shouldn't do it. I find that people tend to be more willing to accept when a girl does something traditionally masculine than when a boy does something traditionally feminine. My dad used to make fun of my brother for cooking, cleaning, washing dishes and doing laundry and then say things to me like it is your job. It made my blood boil because I think these are all really important life skills that everyone should know regardless of gender. It is part of growing up and learning how to take care of yourself, so I don't understand why people still have such a 1950s mentality about it. I also think women deserve better than to become the unpaid personal maid of a man-child who's mother did everything for them once they get into a committed relationship. I personally like it when men can function on their own and also proactively help with domestic tasks. It makes me feel like they respect me and value that work as an important contribution to the relationship.
