- Join me in the venerable Cessna fartcart-ahem-lovable Cessna 150, in my flight from coast to coast! No frills. This was not a vacation with money to be spent exploring. It is lil ol me just trying to get from point A to point B, with all the sights and adventures that came along the way!
By the way, I just noticed I made a typo when spelling Nebraska. Don't worry, I'm not actually that dumb. Haha!
Young lady, I own 1972 Cessna 150 since new. I'm now 99 years of age as of May 2020. Still get her up once and awhile. With a family member. From Los Angeles California USA 🇺🇸. Keep flying and follow your dreams. Mr. Hahn
Happy you can still get her up once in a while. My Dad died at age 89 and he said he could still get her up with some help from a young lady.
awesome mr hahn !!
Inspiring
@@jamesburns2232 "with some help from a young lady"... lmfao
@1994 Celica She probably can't hear you, you'll have to speak up.
I learned in a 150 in 1994 at the age of 18. Now, I have 6 type ratings and fly the A320 for a major US airline. This video takes me back. Well done and THANK YOU.
What airline?
That is probably the prettiest 150 I’ve ever seen! Beautiful airplane 👍
What a great country the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is!!! No other country offers the "regular joe or jane" the freedom to fly their own plane like this, affordably and with very little hassle and restrictions. How blessed a person should be to live in such a wonderful place! God Bless the USA and all it offers to its people!!
And I do have a soft spot for the "150 series". Did my Primary training and a lot of subsequent cross countries, in a 152 out in Davis, California. Even though a good chunk of my recent post PPL time and Instrument and Commercial were done in a 172, I still get the urge to fly the "flying lawnmower." They are so nimble and fun!
Australia does
Well i dunno about cheap. A used Cessna 150 would range from $30,000 to 75,000. The cost of a private pilots license is another $15,000 to $20,000. Insurance costs money as well. And maintenance everything in aviation is expensive. Its not like buying parts at autozone and installing them yourself unfortunately.
@@zipjay$20,000 for PPL is a ripoff. The actual cost is more like $10,000-$15,000
Canada does, lots of Europe, etc.
I haven't found anything yet more fun than flying a slow airplane across the country, if you have the time. Great trip, great landings, great 150, great video.
1969 flew round trip Beverly, Massachusetts to Fullerton, California in a 1947 Stinson Voyager. 300 miles legs and ancient, minimal avionics. A wonderful trip. Repeated the trip the following year in a Cessna 210.... that included coming back through San Francisco and Yellowstone Park. The Stinson trip was quite an adventure for a low time pilot. The 210 trip was fun, but not the challenge of the Stinson. Many coast to coast trips in later years, mostly in a Cessna 310, Delaware to Fullerton in one day with two stops, still waxed nostalgic about the Stinson trip.
Years ago in the early 1960s, I used to get rides with an owner of a Stinson. Remarkable aircraft at the time. I was flying a Trichamp.
Love the “pats” on the dash! I do the same with my 150k mile vehicle. Epic trip, excellent video editing, and perfect song choices. Thanks for sharing!
Great job..... love that I.F.R. Flying..... I follow Roads... did that cross country in a new 172 in the 90,s, was the best trip ever... James
I love this video. Shows beauty of aviation✈️♥️
Thank you so much. I tried!!!
I felt proud for you! Truly living the dream. You go girl!!!!
Worked as a line boy in 1966 in Fort Dodge, got my commercial there in 1973. You get lots of crosswind experience at that airport!
Wow. What an awesome video Amy. Thanks for taking us along on your journey.
Amazing film, great flying, and a beautiful 150! Thumbs up and will watch the rest fore sure! Thank you for making this and sharing,
Happy flying!
Thanks so much for taking us along your adventurous journey. You made the ride in your good looking chariot a real pleasure with your viewing perspective and music selection. Look forward to follow up segments - not everyone flies a C150 coast-to-coast.
Awesome! I did a similar trip when I bought my plane in Portland, Oregon and flew it home to Wisconsin. I really want to do another long trip, but the hard part is making the time...
WOW!!! beautiful!
Some folks know how to live, you are one of them. Excellent video, thanks for taking us along. Godspeed.
I really like watching you fly...flew Cessnas and Tomahawk in the 1980's - Living large through you...Thanks for a great show and letting us tag along!
Reminds me about my 150 time. (1990 and 23 year’s of age ) Awesome you get this done and share it.
And your 150 looks very very good. Nice to see the old bird is kept well like that
Beautiful C-150.
Just finished a road trip from Pittsburgh to McCook Ne. Neat to see some of those same landmarks from the air! Especially, the windmills! Thx for posting!
Great job and very entertaining. Watched all 3. And subscribed. Love THA plane too. Don’t know what kind of jerks give thumbs down to someone’s personal experiences, but that capacity never fails to disappoint me, after so many years. Again, great job!
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you enjoyed it.
Ignore the thumbs downers! They're not doing anything with their lives.
Thank you Ms. White!! Very entertaining, leaving me with Wanderlust.
Fellow 152 driver here -- loving this video. And your playlist is absolutely rad. Adding to my collection as we speak.
What a beautiful little ✈️
Great trip so far. Loved it
Great video! Now this is enjoying flying!!!
Holy headwinds! I've made the journey several times in my '46 Luscombe and, yes, I once relocated from Virginia to Washington State. Oh my are you in for a treat, Amy, when you fly in your destination part of the country. Gotta see the next two videos in anticipation of your reaction as you hit Montana and cross Billings Pass through the Rockies and Mullin Pass into WA 😊 Oops...watched the other two and you took a more southerly route. Make sense as I think about it. Luscombes have a very high service ceiling. I've no time in a 150. Just an old tailwheel guy.
Your landings are just *chef's kiss*!
Such a soothing and heavenly experienced video to witness by an aviation lover like me :)
You be living my dream for me. Thanks for posting!
The soundtrack to your vids is always awesome !
What a beautiful airplane. I learned to fly in a 150 starting in 1962. Went on to become an airline pilot with 14000 hours. Still remember that great little airplane.
One of the nicest looking 150's I've seen!
You seem like a good pilot that knows your limitations, never get the get-there-itis, always fly safe and live to fly again, i am rooting for ya.
Awesome nice good looking Cessna 150 ❤️✈️ great flying 👩✈️
Fantastic! It reminds me of a trip that I and a friend took in a 150 from Kissimmee to Dallas and back (2000 miles roughly) about 20 years ago. Took off on Friday afternoon and landed back Sunday lunchtime. One of the air traffic controllers, on being asked for a ground speed, told us to lean forward in the seats as we were only managing 75 mph. Great video, I love the "Gross" comments when you think that the landing was not perfect and the loving pats that you give your aircraft. I look forward to seeing the other two videos in the series. Thank you!
Really cool... Thx for posting as I am enjoying the ride so far. :)
Your video editing is excellent, music choices are perfect, Well Done! I am impressed that you were able to keep the story-line interesting and on track for your mission. On to Part 2 of your story.
Really nice work.
So cool that you did this. Awesome
What a great trip! I like that you were able to catch other airplanes from a ways of doing airplane things, like landing and just motoring along. Great video!
I always thought of “we” as the airplane and I!😊
Watched all 3 parts. Well done and congrats. Keep flying and keep filming you adventures, they’re well done and interesting.
Pretty plane Amy. Great video.
Enjoy your videos. What a great experience. Fly safe!
That is one nice old 150!! I owned a 1972 150 (N 17291) with a similar paint job, and same wheel pants. I loved that little bird. She’d get off the ground in about 150’. Only problem I ever had with her was starter motor and leaky front strut. Basic instrumentation. It was around 1989 and I’ve since retired and had a heart valve replacement. Enjoy that gal while you can !!! Love from Akron Ohio
Nice landings! Very Smooth!
Thanks for posting. What a fantastic trip that must’ve been
Fantastic accomplishment! Courageous. “Ambassadorial” for the Cessna 150!!
Thank you for bringing back a great memory. I flew my 1976 C150M N3723V from Zamperini Airport (Torrance, CA) to a grass strip just south of Tampa St. Petersburg. I was even cleared through Class Bravo at Tampa St. Pete! When I owned her she was featured in AOPA in an Article on 150’s in Oct. 2007. I miss her to this day as that was my last flight in her.
These little birds will get it done!
Nice! Looks like an awesome adventure. I need to get my lazy ass of the couch and take the 182 out for some good ol adventure. Thanks for sharing
beautiful views
Awesome video series! Would love to do a trip like that someday. Beautiful 150 as well!
Randomly came across this series. Quite the accomplishment and pretty cool watching this!
Great video, great tunes! Subscribed!! Keep up the great work
What a fun set of videos to come into my feed! New subscriber. Look forward to parts 2 and 3
Great videos. Thank you!
That's the kind of flying I always enjoyed. Being away from all the large airports and taking in all the scenery is what G.A. flying is all about.
Meee too!
I owned a 150B which I used in Western Australia, mostly in the Pilbara region, all navigation was with chart, compass, clock and a Kane " prayer wheel" and clocked up about 600 hours in this aircraft. Great aeroplane, be safe.
Looks like a great journey so far!!
Sweet landings!
Wonderful series on an underrated airplane. Well done.
Very cool! What a fun video!
Great areal photography, and I think the editing puts it together pretty well.
Great video. That had to be one heck of an adventure. Brought back memories of my flight training in a 150 here in Columbia SC. Such great little planes. I enjoy my Piper arrow im a partner in, but there is just something about that 150. Happy flying!
Very enjoyable to watch!..
Awesome thanks for putting it up!
Reminds me of when I owned my C150 band flew it all over the place. I am a retired airline Captain now and still think of those days in the 150 when flying was pure pleasure and fun.
Sounds like the perfect time to pick up another one and go have some more fun!
My first plane was at 150 (now a Mooney M 20J). I had a little over 440 hours logged in that plane and we went everywhere out of Texas all the way to the smoky mountains and to the west coast with my wife and I. No auto pilot and nothing but slow rolling it 5000 feet cross country. As much as I miss those days, I do not miss those days now having a Mooney. 🤣 The 150 will always have a special place in the majority of pilots hearts.
Thanks for stopping in Ky. Also your music choices were perfect.
Wow, nice video! Looks like this trip takes lots of planning. On the other hand, the airspace seemed rural and probably easy flights. Very entertaining!
Amy...well done! Thanks for sharing. Fun. Exciting and inspiring. Wonderful music selection. Subscribed.
Just starting trying to make my dream come true to fly and wow, u just motivated me even more! Awesome vids!
Probably the most entertaining cross country video I've seen. Love your editing! And music choices!
Nice airplane, beautiful person, wonderful video! I soloed a C-150 on my 16th birthday in 1964. It was the old straight back style (no "omni-vision"), but they all fly the same...NICE! I put my flying on hold in about 1985 due to the high price of housing in the Los Angeles area, family, and a very satisfying but busy career in aerospace as a mechanical engineer, but now I am retired and have started downsizing my house since all the kids are grown. I am hoping that will put me in position to buy a 150 and get retreaded. Thank you for making these videos. You are really boosting my enthusiasm to get started again!
Great video and awesome editing, such a beautiful C150 ! Keep sharing your flights and videos, saludos from Santiago de Chile !
Pretty bird. Very clean
What a great video! I would love to see America from a low altitude a/c. Great job!
DANG NABBIT!!! I am SOOOO JEALOUS!! I got my ticket in 91 and always dreamed of doing something like this!! THANK YOU for sharing!
Why Call Me Lord Lord I got my private ticket in 1974 and I have made this many times except I was flying a Falcon 50 EX 🤣🛫
Really digging the music!
I love that you pat your plane on the top of the panel. I do the same with my Cardinal. I enjoyed your trip😏
After lifting off at 6,400 Density Alt, I figured it deserved a good pat!
Wonderful! Beautifully filmed, beautifully edited and, most of all, beautifully flown. It’s been a long time (39 years) since I sat in the left seat of a 150 and I never did anything like your trip in one. I relish the flying I get to do now in my C441 but I may just go out and rent a few hours in a 150, you piqued my appetite! By the way, your Casper stop brings back memories of flying there from my base in Long Beach, CA in my previous airplane, a Piper Saratoga, to see the total eclipse in August, 2017. I dodged thunderstorms all the way up and all the way back but it was more than worth it.
What a pretty plane saludos desde Uruguay gracias por compartir tu experiencia , congratulations and thanks for sharing the experience
AWESOME I love the Cessna 150 that's what I own great airplane
It'll do the job!
you sure have the landings down, every time good job. thanks for this great video
Like thousands of others I learned to fly in a 150. Transitioned to 182 and 210. Miss them all! Would go back to that old 150 for pure fun!
Very professional video, your landings are spectacular. I congratulate you.
I’m about 45 miles north of SJS. You’re right, that place is awesome, eat there quite often. I have never had a good landing there though.
Awesome vids! Keep up the good work!
That's awesome! I'm hoping to do the same next year. Great video
My first flight (in a tri-gear!) was in a Brand New 1974 model. One of the nicest small craft I've ever flown!
Wow that's an epic flight in a 150. You had so much time to see the USA. At 100 knots or so. Great Piloting job. I leaned how to fly in a 150 Cessna in Stead Nevada. It was my first 88 hours of flight and my SOLO aircraft. Good job Pilot!...
Wow! Theadford, NE. Some of the best camping at the national forest there and some great spring water just south of there..
Liked this video ..it just showed the art of flying ..
Instead of all the preflight runups etc. ..thanx
I’ve been a pilot for fourth years and this cross country trip looked like more fun. It always helps to have foreflight and good instruments to aid in the planning. Great work!
Welcome to KCLM.. Really enjoying your videos.
A very nicely shot and edited video.
Great video. Looking forward to seeing your next installment. If possible can you include details on your flight? Like best guess for avg speed, fuel burn, time it took to travel between fbo’s? Would help paint a good picture of what to expect if someone planned a similar trip. All the best..
Great videos you do a nice job
Welcome to Martinsville, Va.....where I grew up ...and home of Martinsville Speedway.....the greatest short track ever...
I learned in a 1966 150 in 1971. $17 per hour for the 150, $5 for the instructor. Flew for the airlines, bought a 1973 150 for the kids to fly, kept it about 20 years. After tinkering with it for 20 years it flew hands off. Engine purred like a 6 cyl. A few times I think the traffic on the ground was passing us... but that's OK unless it's bumpy.
