8/8 is close to DK or 3 weight and I LOVE IT. I think you'll be surprised about how much you have! I just made a full coverage top with 5 8/4 which is fingering weight, so you should be good! I've become addicted to Hobbii cottons

Hobbii cotton is AMAZING! I've made several projects with it so I'm so excited to see what you create! :) I'm confident you'll have enough for the cardi. I know acrylic is great because it's accessible, but using the different fibers that Hobbii offers ensures that projects last longer so you're in for a treat.

I'm so excited! I think it's going to be so cool. I have used yarn like this before and if you don't make the stitches to tight you should have enough. Good luck!

That is awesome. You are starting to get sponsors. The colours are so pretty. Unfortunately when you only shop at Michaels (like me) your choices are limited, but I've also tried shopping online. Then I get to the shipping and since I'm not spending $100 or more and in Canada I have to pay about $50 for shipping. Back to Michaels. Im not sure if ive looked into Hobbii so I'll check it out this afternoon.

Hi Michelle, I'm really new to crochet and I found your channel earlier this month (January 2023). I spent a couple of days binging your videos while I crocheted because you are so fun to watch! Your personality is so vibrant and you're just such a sunshiney, warm person! I love how passionate you are about your projects and I think that you are a huge inspiration. Your videos actually inspired me to go to Goodwill (I didn't even KNOW they sold yarn there!) and I found 20+ small/medium skeins of yarn all bundled together for like $14, it was a steal. You are unlike any of the other crochet/fabric arts/crafts youtubers I've seen so far and you are by far my favorite to watch. I can't wait to see what you make with this Hobbii yarn.

This is normal sized cotton skeins😊 I know American sizes are always very big in everything. Scandinavia is small and cute✨💕 I really wanna do the hexagon cardigan too- with 3-4 granny squares down the back 😊✨ so that I don’t need sleeves 🫧🫧

Those colours look super good together. I have to say Pistachio is one of my favourite colours. I am looking forward to seeing how the Hexi cardigan turns out. Crossing my fingers and toes you have enough yarn.

I'm so glad you're trying new yarn, and can't wait to see this project finished! I've had hear a lot of good things about this brand, I hope I can try it one day :D And don't worry, I'm pretty sure you can make a full cardigan. I work with cotton sport/dk yarn and a 4mm hook, and I do oversize and long cardigans for myself (I think it will be the equivalent of XL size in the US) and I use between 700-800g of yarn. If each one of those little skeins are 50g, I think you have enough. Best of luck with your project!

@Lavinia Whateley The first time I used that size of yarn I wasn't sure it will be enough but I was really surprised how much leftover I had haha. After that I started using a kitchen scale to measure everything I made to start learning how much yarn I actually need.

My mother in law LOVES Hobbi yarn but I've never used it. Maybe if worse comes to worse you could turn the cardigan into more of a cropped one to save on yarn? Just an idea, excited to see the project!

I just ordered some cotton/acrylic from Hobbi. I'm really anxious to see if the combo is easier on the joints than plain cotton. I've been using Lion Brand 24/7 and I LOVE it for creatures (animals & dolls). And why can't ALL yarn be made this way?? - IT DOESN'T UNRAVEL!!!
I'd love to make a cardi but I live in central Florida and rarely need outer layers. Love your energy and videos! Can't wait to see your finished project.

I think their 8/4 friends cottons are better for crocheting garments as they are thinner and the result is softer :)

I had basically the exact same reaction when I opened my first box of Hobbii, I assumed they would be bigger skeins. And it was very distressing opening it up and basically getting half of what I expected. Still love them tho!

Wowie zowie ….suzy cream cheese!….that cotton yarn will be great for that project….just keep in mind that cotton ‘grows’ with gravity…I think you have enough yarn…but if you don’t, can’t you order more instead of frogging it?….I’ve made that before and it’s a quick, fun make….you’ve inspired me to make another one (in cotton)…can’t wait for you to start experimenting with other natural fibers…..or better yet….spinning your own yarn!….lemme know when you do….I see it for you in my crystal ball…✂️🧶🔮

Ahhhh! I’m so happy that you’re making a hexagon cardi. I finished one myself yesterday and it came out so well. I think mine took like 3.2 skeins of 100 gram of aran yarn (even sized up my hook). I definitely think 32 skeins of DK yarn would be more than enough (depending on the size of the cardi).
