Girl, I did your square cardigan and I had the exact same problem and I was thinking about redoing the ribbing. Feeling a bit better now that you said it happened to you too so I don’t feel so bad about having it done wrong in the first place 😅

I appreciate this! ❤ My first ever crochet piece is such a flop and it's expensive wool yarn. Never worn, never will. I know I need to take it apart but I've been avoiding it. May this give me the the strenght to do so 🥲

On the mint green hexi cardigan, just fold the ends of the sleeves up to make them as short as you want & whip stitch them in place!

Back when I was learning, my grandmother passed and left me a lot of different yarns, including some lovely yellow cotton. Started making a sunflower lace shawl from an Eastern European lady (I think she was Ukrainian, but as she didn't speak any English in her tutorial videos, I don't know). Well I ran out of yellow two thirds in, and ended up buying a peachy orange (that was too thick) to finish it off. Visually, it's very pretty, but I can't get over 1) it's weight 2) it's mix and matchiness 3) the stiffness of the top squares. Too much effort spent to frog, material too expensive to bin, the mistakes mean it's not good enough to sell. The next project, you could see where I learnt new techniques as I went 😅 I felt this video on a soul level

You could use the mint green shirt as a bed jacket for winter! I really love the color, and it's screaming 1950s bed jacket to me. I also love the fact that you cut the collar off the fallout boy sweater in a small fit of rage! 🤣

Tip for when you wash the yarn from the strawberry cardigan. If you weigh the skein down at the bottom (I try and balance a ton of beans) it helps take the kinks out.

Before you take all the ribbing off the sweaters it might be worth it to try blocking them to stretch out the ribbing and seeing if that helps at all. It might not work because it's acrylic, but I feel that it might be worth it to try just so you maybe don't have to undo and redo as much.

I tried blocking the 2 vests, but since they were acrylic, it didn’t help. But i am excited to try them again, but in another yarn 😊

    • @good_q

Came here to say this! It’s worth a try to block it before you undo all that work! 💗

@@michelle_jasekdid you just wet block them? Or did you block them with steam? If you block with steam the heat allows the plastic in the acrylic yarn to relax. Wet blocking does nothing unless it's a natural fiber. My only warning is to not overdo it or it will just melt.

As for the sunflower- cardigan and the strawberry- cardigan: put soft lining in it. Jersey in white. It'll make it softer, the sleeves shorter and you' ll wear it.
    The flower sweater needs buttons.
Don't cut the lamb- shade. It simply needs reanforcement.Get a lamb and attach it to it😊.

Steam blocking may solve a lot of these issues...as per several other comments. It's important to let them COMPLETELY cool down & dry before removing the pins.👍🤗

I love your presentations! Your Wednesday Addams vest got me thinking. I know those flaired shoulders bug you. What if you tried redoing the black edging and use single crochet or half double crochet decreases across the top of the arm holes? Kind of pull it in a little? I like the black and white pattern. And... I wonder if you placed your lampshade on an under inflated exercise ball (inflate until it fits the lampshade) and did the stiffening stuff on the yarn, shaping the wire as you went... You've got me thinking that maybe I could make a lampshade for my lampshade frame I've been holding onto and thinking about.

I’ve been on a kick lately of frogging stuff I’ve made that I don’t wear for one reason or another ! Mostly fit. I have one cotton halter top that I love but it’s just too big so I feel like I’m going to flash someone cause the bust area is too loose and because of the halter I can’t wear a bra so I just don’t wear it ! I need to frog it and remake it because the yarn deserves to be worn 😅

@@michelle_jasek Have you tried steam? I feel like it opens up the acrylic fibers a lil bit better than wet blocking since it's not as aggressive, I live in Ontario also and I just popped over to Walmart and bought a $30 handheld steamer then used some good ol blocking boards.
