Ooh! Maybe someday, if you’re comfortable with it, you could do a fan meet-up at the annual tent sale! It would be win-win. You could meet some fans, fans could meet you, and we’d all be super distracted by all the yarn so it didn’t get weird? It’s just a fun idea.
The Sugar and Cream is awesome when you are crocheting a project that needs to be sturdy and hold up over rough usage (pouches, bags, purses, rags, potholder etc.) It also varies how rough it can feel color to color. I’ve been crocheting on and off since 16 years and I swear it was softer back then.
You should do yarn embroidery on your cup cozies, little pumpkins and leaves would be so cute on those colors, and it would make a fun video on how to jazz up simple crochet projects. 🧶 You could even undo that crazy purple yarn to use as embroidery thread and make purple bats 😂. Love all your crochet videos 💜
I make amigurumi out of the plush yarn a lot. The Hobbii Honey Bunny Yarn and Baby Snuggle Yarn and Parfait Chunky are basically all interchangeable really. I find I like working with it and a 4.5 hook. It does a really nice job with the stitches and they don't have the tension popping out issue with that hook for me when doing SC over and over again. But it frogs terribly so I have to be super slow when frogging it otherwise the chenille splits and you just see the string its attached to and its just a mess. That tent sale looked like so much fun though! Thanks for sharing!
Velvet yarns also make super comfy headbands, if you're into that! I only wear them at home because they look a bit pyjama-esque, but it's great to have something else to keep hair out of my face when the ponytail/bun is causing a headache. I use something similar to that purple yarn for amigurumi, haven't found the fraying to be an issue as long as I leave a long-enough tail, but working with it did take some getting used-to. I do like that it's super easy to split because then you can turn that 5-ply into 2-ply and use it for small shapes (e.g. pointy ears) or to sew a project together, and it also works for embroidery/cross-stitch.
You can make the sugar and cream yarn a bit easier to work with by soaking it in a bucket of water with some fabric softener added. I unwind the skeins into hanks and tie them like you would for dyeing (so they can be hung to dry), let them soak overnight, rinse them a bit, give them a good squeeze, and hang them to dry. Then I just wind them into balls.
Ugh, wish I could find sales like these in the states but my luck has not been great so far. Honestly so surprised you didn’t make a Jack o lantern cup cozy with the orange and the brown - but they look so pretty I want to try the yarn out!
Do you know the series The Americans? The whole story takes place in the 80s and the makers have managed to bring the retro vibe very well. Anyway, the reason I'm commenting on such an old video is because I watch all your previous videos one after the other, I love them all, I've become your fan 👍 Greetings from France!
Bancroft Stedman's yarn tent sale is coming up...........I so don't need any more yarn but the deals are great. BTW the Cygnet yarn - a cygnet is a baby swan. As soon as I saw the name it rang a bell. LOVE your channel. Look forward to your vids.
Hobbii's friends cotton yarn, along with their rainbow cotton yarn is the softest cotton yarn I've ever used. I've used it for baskets and crochet flowers and love it! Plus, the more you buy, the cheaper the skein gets! I really loved seeing you making things with the yarn .. the purple yarn looks like a pain .. it's strange that it's instantly splitting!
Great little projects, thanks for your reviews! Yours are always so honest and informative . I find the sugar & cream cotton hard to work with. It is so stiff and kills my hands. It turned me off cotton for years!
disclaimer that I haven't done this myself, and also I'm sure you've heard this before but for your hook shape desires you can supposedly use polymer clay on the cheap metal hooks to bulk out their handles to match the sort of shape furls hooks have while keeping the tapered head. you can shape the clay directly around the hook and it should be safe to bake it in the oven like that
😅I have had fibromyalgia for years and recently diagnosed with sjogrins as well. I totally get where you are coming from. I got told the other day to just try harder to get going in the mornings because it is just mind over matter grrrr 😢
I’ve never been to Mary Maxim’s, but I was wooed by this sale. However, it would be a hell of a road trip, ‘cause I’m in Michigan. It would be 4 hours each way. Bummer.
Along with Over the Garden Wall and Gravity Falls, I love this short series on RUclips called Edgar Allen Poe's Murder Mystery Dinner Party by Shipwrecked. It's alot of fun!
Btw, have you ever been to the Spinrite Yarn Outlet in Listowel? I have no idea how far it is from you, but it showed up when I looked up yarn tent sales to see if any were near me in Michigan. Maybe it’s a Canadian thing?
Our local Walmart had this Perfection yarn. It is horrible! I made a poncho because I had bought pink and blue. The tassels instantly frayed and they look awful! Not fun! If I recall correctly, I bought it on clearance at W. Now you know why Mary Maxim has so much of it in their sale room! 😫

For the lemon pouch you could make a little leaf and attach it as a zipper pull! 🍋🍃

The lily sugar and cream makes good dishcloths

Stranger Things, OtGW, abd Gravity Falls?!? The ultimate vibe!

The jack o lantern cup cozy is such a good idea!
I'm going to Mary Maxims tomorrow! Now I'm more excited seeing all the yarny goodness.

I made my first hexagon cardigan with the friends of cotton yarn! It was so nice to crochet with 😊

Sugar’n cream has such pretty colours, but that’s all i like about it lol
So cool. Im near the Port Huron location, the retail store is closed now, but oh how i miss the tent sale.
I love sugar & cream cotton yarn. I knit wash clothes with it.
Parfait chunky is my FAVORITE for plushie
You could crochet a pumpkin plush with cinnamon or like pumpkin spice powder in it so it smells nice. Have a nice day 😊
You should crochet detachable collars, you can really get creative with them and I can't imagine it takes a lot of yarn.
Dam I’m sooo jealous I wish we had something like this in the uk😢

I’ve seen these! And I actually bought the clay to make one, but then forgot to do it lol eventually i’ll make one 😊

Wow! That was some sale!

Cygnet is the word for young swans, so not sure if those are supposed to be swans on that first yarn 🤔
😂😂😂 that would make sense!

I haven’t! But me and my sister are always looking for new places to visit! I’ll add it to my list 😊

So jealous I would have lost my mind!!! " I was "triggered" just looking at this video , lol....
You should make scrunchies next time, not a lot of yarn and really easy
