I was winding up a hank while watching this with the most ✨ unique ✨ set up because I don’t have a swift yet - it’s doable without one but you have to do it really slowly 🫠 tangles do happen and it’s 100% a nightmare! 🤣
Here’s a trick: if you need to ball a hank of yarn, you can put two chairs back to back, and use the backrests to hold that giant ring of yarn steady. It counts as cardio, you’ll see.

Lots of fun for both of you looks like. Love the video! I have been to Mary Maxim store a few times and on the way i usually stop in Cambridge at Cambridge Fiber store located right beside Len's Mill. I always buy something there. Maybe worth to try next time.

Local Yarn Shop day is the best! We have a really great big yarn shop in town but I have a great tiny tiny yarn shop. I love crochet and love yarn, but now that I knit, my brain goes "YARN! I NEED IT"

Bouncing off your sisters horror story with not having a yarn swift, I literally just had a 20 baby alpaca hank get so matted and ruined I threw half of it away and was so sad. Please make sure you use a swift when winding! It makes life so much easier and way less tangled up!
You and your sister look and sound similar but total opposites in style 😆
I tried winding a hank of yarn by hand once…it was a disaster to say the least. Took forever to untangle and had to throw some away. So good call on the swift!

I have that exact crochet hook keychain,I now just need to stash a skein of yarn in my vehicle for emergency crochet purposes 😅

I went to my local yarn shop for LYS day too! I really liked the people and the yarn was really pretty, but man, I can only go there if I’m looking for fancy yarn because wow, very pricey. I got a clearanced knitting kit that I am really happy with 😊
