When I was 16 years old I saw these guys at warped tour. I ended up getting caught in the mosh pit to THIS song in particular. I remember it so vividly because it was the first time I ever got into the pit for anything, and because a big fat guy did like a spin kick that hit me dead center on the face. Great memories.
While I don't agree with the lyrical content, you're correct; Metal is a genre of music. Music, by definition, is based on sound. If the sound happens to be fast and aggressive, it is Metal; regardless of what the lyrics may be about. Metal can be about God just as easily as it can be about Satan or Love or anger or literally any other topic that the artist wishes to address.
