The guinea fowl is one of the most irresponsible parents around. In Nigeria, they're mostly found in the North. They tend to abandon their eggs after laying, so what the Hausa people of the North do is to take their eggs and put them under a hen for incubation. The chicken, being a more responsible parent, patiently incubates the eggs and hatches most of them successfully. So, in Sokoto State where I had my national youth service all those years ago, it was a common sight to see a hen with a brood of guinea fowl chicks following her around since she's the only mum that they've ever known 😁 the works of God in nature never ceases to amaze.

We like them in New England US, because they eat ticks, which carry Lyme disease

A guinea fowl showed up at our friends farm. My parents like pranks, and to this day our friends are convinced my parents pranked thwn by leaving the fowl at their farm 😂

I mean... Universe? Creators? Thank you for making Joy the author of such video... what a timing.
I still have not known how to deal with guinea fowls in my fields... I must know how to benefit from them because till now they've been devastating for our crops.
Can anyone please share some tips on this subject?

Your videos do bring calm peace and joy to me! I have so many questions- Why do you want the guinea fowl eggs to hatch? Do you have to be careful walking through the vegetation because of snakes or insects or the actual vegetation itself? I live near Dallas Texas in the United States and when walking through vegetation like that, we could encounter different types of insects that bite, snakes that bite, or plants that can have thorns, burrs or cause a severe rash. Guinea fowl are not commonly eaten here but are used to keep snakes away and eat the bugs, especially ticks. How does your village use the guinea fowl? Your life is very different from mine and I find everything to be so interesting. Thank you for sharing

Normally snakes not habor a lot on the farm that I’d used a lot . They love piled spaces that are less trodden

This was fantastic to see, very interesting! Do you/people in your village eat meat and/or eggs? Or is this a conservation plan?

Thanks for the gorgeous video! The guinea fowl are fascinating, and they look so much healthier than the western chicken locked up in coops. I wonder if I can raise guinea fowl well in the US...I'll check it out.

Birds aren't irresponsible or neglectful parents! The fowl are leading you away from the eggs so their bird babies won't be eaten! The birds want a family & community like you do. I assume the "farm" you are taking them to is to have humans eat the birds, Not to let the birds live out their bird lives as bird family & grow old together. Humans are the most dangerous predators on the planet.
