go ahead and say that, try to convince a certain population of this. It's not a generational thing eithet it's a mindset that they deserve the best capitalism can offer.
If we don’t all start striving for ‘primitive’ pretty soon, ‘progress’ will bump us back to something that’s gonna make ‘primitive’ seem like a 5-star hotel
"Ah ah aaaahhh...what will they say next!? Siri, what does "primitive" mean?" These people would not survive without their technology to help them cook, etc
Sounds like having bushcrafting/off grid skills to me, skills that other people would pay to take courses for. Water purification, shelter building, fire building , foraging/herbal medicine, ECT. Also, the hut could be called an environmentally friendly cob home. Not primitive at all.
There's nothing wrong with "primative". Some would call it a wise way to live with the earth. I am an artist who makes my paint in the ancient, primative way, from grinding rocks and earths to a fine powder and mixing that powder with things such as egg or oil. It took research for me to learn this very simple, basic skill that my deep ancestors figured out on their own. My art has much more meaning to me now than it did when i bought "paint" from a store. Now I realize that store bought stuff is really just toxic plastic - it holds no meaning, and no real worth. It makes me very happy to make my paints the primative way; of rock and ochre, and in this way to give a deeper meaning to my art. I have a deep respect for primative technology.
I would rather say powerful cause self-sufficiency in many ways (food, medicine, water, building house ..) with a community is very powerful ! Thank you Joy to be aware of that ! ❤ That's more and more the dream of lots of people that I know. For the word "primitive" I would say that it depends on the point of view of who is talking as a lot of things in this world. Opinion is opinon and according to me it's not what matters but thank you to share with us a part of your daily life so people can make an accurate opinion rather than believe what they imagine ! By the way, your videos are soo good !! I really envoy watching it ! You're shining ! ❤ Love
The irony is we are now or we should strive to return to the eco ethics etc of "primitive" as a vastly better and more sustainable way to live to stop ruining the plant 🥰 from 🇬🇧
I've found your videos identifying plants and their uses very interesting. I'd be interested in learning more about the herbs that are harvested and their medicinal uses.
I actually like some of the "primitive" things that you described. If we experienced a natural disaster with a widespread electrical outage for a long period of time, most of us would not know how to survive. This is the reason why I like some of the "primitive" things that were described such as building shelter, using herbs for medicine, and cooking.
Sister I'm really sorry you have to endure all of that. Some of it is simply ignorance but some of it is straight meanest. I applaud you for your approach and holding true to who you are and for the tremendous respect and love you have for elders, ancestors, traditions and culture. I am an African American woman yearning to make the journey back home and experience all that they've stolen from me. Keep it real my sister because I'm looking forward to reconnecting. God bless you forever and always ❤️
As long as you and your people are content, its all good, right? Taking the good and leaving the bad is what we should all strive for. I mean, you are a YTber.
Hi Joy, I've been following you for a while now. I like your contents and it would be nice if you can make a podcast, I can listen to you all day long. Keep shining and a blessing, all for His glory. God bless you dear
The govt of Tanzania is forcibly removing the Maasai to *give* UAE royalty hunting privileges and their justification is that the Maasai are not immune to cultural extinction! My heart is breaking.
Primitive is when you think you know everything and try to force your ways on others because you are too stupid to understand why people do things differently. I think the "p" word they mean to say when they see you and your way of life is ✨️perfect✨️
There's more actual know-how and hands-on technology in "primitive" dealings with nature than in modern city living As an example, a stereotypical funko-pop collector soy-milk haver will be surrounded by technology in his smartphone, RGB PC, console games, social media, and the gadgets gifted to him by his girlfriend's boyfriend, but he will understand ZERO about it: No knowledge about electricity, or how fuses and batteries work Meanwhile, these people actually know and bend the environment around their villages according to their will.
You guys are where you are because the decisions you made and keep making. Nothing happens without a reason. The fact is that you are using your people's unfortunate situation and monetizing. With all your intelligence you should probably focus on educating your people, instead of using sarcasm and confusing them
Someone's culture is different than yours and so you see it as an unfortunate situation and think they need help 🤦♀️ You're definitely who this video is directed at enjoy your day though 👌
@@katiehogan8196 Of course i don't mind the culture. On the contrary, I think Africa is beautiful. But, look at life expectancy, education, literacy, health, treatment of women, of children etc. All of them are lowest in the world. Many times the world has helped Africa and keeps helping. Statistics don't lie. And, yes, it is her absolute right to portray life in Africa. But to use sarcasm (again her right), well its a free RUclips and this is my opinion... If her intention is to make fun of her community and earn money than ok...
Maybe 'primitive' is what we should all strive for...
Instead of the constant capitalistic consumption that leads to nowhere good.

Interesting. If you lived here in the USA and did those things you’d be praised as a conservationist who lived off grid!😂
😅😅😅😅
Humble them Sis. ❤
Love ❤️ you-!!!

Gonna need these skills eventually😮.

Love this video, you always speak the truth. I never heard anyone break down the absurdity of that word this way before. Primitive? no futuristic.

One of the best feelings is seeing young people understand how the world really works, and doing something about it.

I have a hat like that except it's green.
Capable and then some, not primitive. Jealous folk
primitive means first, prime, the beginning.
I needed this video to change the colonized minds
The govt of Tanzania is forcibly removing the Maasai to *give* UAE royalty hunting privileges and their justification is that the Maasai are not immune to cultural extinction! My heart is breaking.
Just a rhetorical question as i hope!

In the Western parts people go camping all the time. So, is it only primitive when non-Western people do it? Nonsense?
people go camping all over the world
Who is talking so much negativity? Let me at them
Primitive? How about figured out ways of life that are ACTUALLY enjoyable and sustainable early on? Jeez
