- Check out this ultimate compact PA system! A pair of Bose S1 Pro's teamed up with a Bose SUB 1. This is the ultimate compact PA system. The system weighs only 67 pounds and is extremely portable and versatile. The Bose S1 Pro's are battery powered and can be used independently (either one or a pair). When paired with the Bose SUB 1, they make an awesome system for backyard parties, house parties, small bars, karaoke shows, etc...
The song featured in this video is "Check". It was written by my daughter and a co-writer. I own the recording and should not have copyright issues.

I was curious about the Bose sub1 how it sounds when paired with S1 pro, but Man your daughter and her friend got a hit song right there, and it makes me really enjoy the original song. Thank you
Great song. Congratulations your daughter is very talented. greetings from Ecuador.
Thank you sir!!
Very smart! That’s the way to tell for me how loud something is when the person speaks
Thank you! It is difficult ti convey actual volume in a video...
It would be good to see a shot from the back to see how it looked and to indicate the correct way to make the connections and also to give the specifications of the cables used
beat to the punch lol.... Update us on how you connected everything please
I absolutely LOVE this system. What is so incredible about it is that it is scaleable. I use it for guitar and vocal performances. I find that for a many small performances, just one S1 Pro is really all you need. If you need to cover more space, but want to keep the volume low, adding a second S1 Pro works perfectly. If you need more volume and thump however, a single S1 Pro with the Sub1 is better. The full system with two S1 Pros and a single Sub1 Kicks ass!
As compared to a column system, there is of course far less throw, but often I find people prefer that. People who want to dance or really listen often sit close to the stage, and people who sit a ways away usually want to talk and have lower volume music for background anyway. Even coverage from the front to the back of a room isn’t always as desirable as people make it out to be.
I completely agree. Throw in the battery powered capability of the S1 Pro's with the reverb (actually pretty good reverb compared to other all-in-one systems) and you've got the ultimate portable flex system!
Hi, this is exactly what I've been having a problem with. I have 2 Bose S1 Pros. 1 is great for small venues but when I have to play a big concert hall for a wedding or loud party, I need more volume so I bought a second one for that reason. I connect them by using a guitar cable from one output to another input. However, I keep getting really squeaky feedback when I turn them both up to a certain volume...
I have tried moving the position of my mic (behind, in front, far back), nothing is working. The guitar isnt giving off feedback, just the mic. I have tried putting the speakers closer to each other and then further away, it's the same. I don't use a mixer, I just plug guitar and mic into one speaker and then connect that output to the input of the other one. I can actually get more volume from 1 alone than from both because i can turn 1 up the whole way but not both :/ I also put them on the floor - I don't know if elevating them would change anything.
It's really difficult to get a balance but also get the volume I need for bigger venues.. I'm running out of ideas, any suggestions would be great! :)
@@erikaignatamusic2771 What mic are you using? If you are using a cardioid (less directional, SM58 for example), moving to a more directional hyper-cardioid or super-cardiod will help. The most feedback resistant mic I know of is an Audix OM7. It takes a little more gain though, and your mic technique has to be spot on.
@@framelessfilms it’s a behringer ultravoice XM8500
@@erikaignatamusic2771 Yes, that mic is an inexpensive cardiod. The cardiod pattern means that it is a little directional, but not highly. That can be good in that it can be forgiving if you get a little off mic because you are playing guitar, but it also is a lot less resistant to off-axis feedback. It is also an inexpensive mic, which means that there are likely resonant peaks that can be prone to feeding back. Inexpensive mics also have less isolation in the capsule from handling noise. If you are hand holding them, this can mean that you will hear your hands rustling on the mic. If the mic is in a stand, it means that it can pick up vibrations mechanically from the floor through the stand, which can also cause feedback. I would highly recommend a better (and more directional mic). Get a hyper or super-cardioid mic from one of the major mic manufacturers like Shure, Sennheiser, Audix, etc.. You will pay more for it, but it will be less prone to feedback, and sound a lot better.
Great song. Your daughter is very talented.
Thank you!
Sweet song!
I have 2 S1Pros and Im thinking about adding the Sub1 to give my sound a little more bottom end. I probably don't need it for acoustic gigs but I'd like more bottom for break music if anything else.
Great video. Your daughter is talented! How many max people do you think 2 S1s & 1 Sub1 could handle?
Looking good
Thank you!
Cómo vinculó (conectó) todas las bocinas? Está maravilloso este proyecto!!!
I forgot that the music was from family. It’s good. Support her in her dreams nice set up. I’m looking for a sub1 for sale outside dealers
Thank you Luis! You won't regret getting a Sub 1... Best lightweight sub on the market!
great song....
i have same set up.
cant feel any bass on your phone. ìn person the bass is a real thumper.
s1 pros are incredible.
I have this system and have used it at several events indoors and out and people could not believe what was coming out of it.
I've had the same experience! So much high quality sound from such a compact package...
@@bestproaudio4255 I'm thinking I might get the second set and do 2 s1pros on each side and the double sub 1s together under or beside my table 🤔. I don't know but I am sure it will sound amazing and cover a pretty good crowd.
@@shaneberckman I think your right! Then you can also break apart and have two micro systems if needed!
@@bestproaudio4255 exactly 💯 😉
@@bestproaudio4255 I got my second sub1 this week and did a wedding Saturday of about 120 people and I had to set both subs @ 11 o'clock 🙃
It Got a lot of attention. To say the least. LOL
That song sounds like a Hit to me!
Thank you sir!
Great test - and great work by your daughter on the song. I really like it - maybe you should let us know where we can buy it? ;)
Thank you! Unfortunately, the song isn't released for purchase...
Hello! After watching your video I bought a Bose s1 - 2 boxes and one Bose sub1. Thank you very much - everything sounds good!
But I do not have enough power in the middle and highs when more than 35 people. on the dance floor. What boxes would you recommend for my Boe sab1. So that they weigh up to 16kg. I picked it up myself, but I want to hear your opinion as a professional which of these
boxes RCF HD 10-A MK5, RCF Art 710-A MK IV, RCF ART 910-A will sound better with my
Bose Sab1. Or tell me your option. Thank you for your reply. Thank you for your work.
Does the internal amp on the BTR5 interfere with the amp on the speakers?
How far apart (distance) from each S1 Pros speaker?
What size audience would this be suitable for, cheers
I like the s1 pro because it’s battery powered. Paired with the sub 1 is the sub 1 battery powered too. Or does the sub 1 need a 110 outlet?
It needs 110v... But I've been using it with a lithium ion battery pack and it works great! amzn.to/3m5ggB1
Anything but country for sound test please
After many attempts to set up the Bose equipment, I must admit that I am satisfied with my sub1 and 2xS1 Pros. First of all, you cannot increase the volume on the speakers too much if you use an external mixer - the bass setting at 1 p.m. is quite sufficient for two Bose S1 Pro. For me the best setting is LINE IN EQ to LPF, and line out EQ to HPF (white). I don't like setting HPF to green, what about you?
I agree - I prefer not using the special S1 Pro HPF setting too! Also, the volume setting for the S1 Pro's depends on whether you are using XLR or 1/4" balanced cables. I use XLR and can only increase to maybe 2 or 2.5 on the volume knob without distorting the speaker. If you use 1/4" balanced cables you have to turn the knob to a higher setting to achieve the same volume.
Two years have passed.
Is your daughter's music available now?
I am a DJ from Peru and I always like to surprise my audience with “unknown gems.”
Is the song online yet?😄
have the same system only two sub 1's can comfortably entertain a nice gathering of 100 people
I purchased a second one too... Best power to size ratio out there!
How do you connect the three devices together to get stereo sound? And if I have YAMAHA MG10XU, how would I connect to get the best performance of them three? Thanks
See his response to Martin above.
Man I have 2 s1 pro like you, and I played in outdoor usage, the bass sounds heartbreaking 😢, will sub1 adding could save this problem? Around 50 people in outdoor party..
Hi, great video, please can you tell me how is the connection between Sub1 and both S1…many thanks, regards from Chile
I connect from the mixer (Midas MR12) left and right out XLR to the Left / Right inputs on the Sub 1. Then I use an XLR cable out of the Sub1 for each S1 (one left output / the other the right output). I press and hold the HPF / Full button on the back of the Sub1 until a green light comes on (tiny green LED). Also, make sure to keep the volume low on the S1's - start at the 2nd tick (yes it's very low). Set the volume on the Sub1 to 11 o'clock. Then slowly increase volume on the mixer as needed. I have pushed the S1's to the 3rd tick and the Sub1 to 12 o'clock - but not higher. Good Luck with your setup!!
@@bestproaudio4255 Thank you! I was looking also for this response.
Hello! I have exactly the same acoustics as you have in this video! I want to buy a Bose T4S Mixer. It will fit this acoustics. Can I turn on 2 computers and 2 microphones at the same time? And if it fits, could you draw a diagram of how and where to include all this? Can the DELAY and REVERBER effects processor sound together and can this be adjusted? Or take the right Bose T8S Mixer!Thank you!
The biggest thing a T4S can do for your acoustics is provide a good ToneMatch EQ setting for your microphones / instruments. Another big draw is that it can be digitally connected to a Bose L1 Pro 32. I use it for both of those reasons. Another thing you can look into is either a Midas MR12 or Behringer XR12 wireless mixer with auto EQ app and an Ipad. This combination can help with acoustics as well. @@bestproaudio4255 thank you very much you helped me!
better than l1 pro 8? more bass? Which sounds louder: l1 pro 8 or 1 s1 pro with sun 1?
Great Question! Im gonna guess the S1 with Sub1 because it's 480 watts versus the L1 8's 240 watts... Both hi/mids are 60 watts...
I'd say a single Sub1 with two S1s is roughly equal to two L1 Pro 8s...
Hello! How did you connect the wires so that the stereo sounded correctly. Please show me. Thank you!
Absolutely! I will post a video this weekend to explain the setup. I've had several requests for the same information. Thank you for watching!!

I purchased my S1 Pro when it first came out, and I have been using it for ceremonies and cocktail hours. It sounds awesome! I hadn't thought about it before, but I am considering buying another S1 Pro, and paring them with a Alto TSUB212S subwoofer that I have. It's a 12" 45 lb Subwoofer that is pretty punchy. Do you think this set up would work out well, or should I really purchase a Bose Sub 1 to go with the Bose S1 Pros?
I think it would sound great! Set the crossover at 150hz if you can... If you're not happy with the overall sound - then sell the TSUB and pick up a Sub1!
Hello I am a singer and just new to setting up my own sound as I was previously in a band. I have 2 s1 pros and a Yamaha mixer but I feel like something is missing from the sound. I saw people comment about a sub woofer what is that and what is it used for. Any help would be greatly appreciated
@@lizziemurphy7882 that sub is going to make you feel your backing track's alot more it is what delivers a more deeper punchier kick and bass
Can you tell me where did you buy the stands?
I purchased the stands at Zzounds. Here is a link: www.zzounds.com/a--3968655/item--MUPSSP7900

Good day, very good song ,саn you give me mp3 please?!
What's song called it sound great
Thank you! It's called "Check". My daughter wrote it with a cowriter. She is also singing. It is not currently available for download though.
What size/brand of speaker stand ?
The stands are On-Stage SSP7900 aluminum speaker stands: amzn.to/3GRIebH
The S1 pros are battery powered already correct?
That is correct!
this combo vs L1 pro 8. i still think the L1 pro 8 sound better
need to know the watts
The wattage listed by Bose is as follows:
Bose Sub1: 480 watts
Bose S1 Pro: Not Published (Sweetwater Music states they are 150 watts - They aren't as loud as Eon One Compacts which are 150 watts)... I'd say closer to 120 watts each.
Checkout my latest video which compares small subs - I believe the wattage stated by Bose isn't overhyped (unlike other manufacturers)... ruclips.net/video/l_u5Dz1_Qrw/видео.html
Why?? They are battery powered ! If loudness.... focus on LOUDNESS
I have also bought a Bose Sub 1 and two Bose S1 Pro.
I tried connecting an external yamaha mixer to the system and used an aux cord to play music.
I have an incredible hiss in the speakers when connected via the sub. Bose S1 Pro volume is at 12 o'clock.
I saw another video on youtube where a man describes exactly my problem.
ruclips.net/video/YM81M5gwq48/видео.html
Do you have the same problem? You can, of course, turn down the volume on the S1 Pro speakers, but you have to turn down the volume quite a bit for them to be silent. Around 9 o'clock it's quiet, but that's quite a lot of volume reduction I think, too much to be honest!
I tried connecting my Bose Sub 1 to an active Yamaha DXR10 speaker and it is completely silent compared to when I am connected to a Bose S1 Pro.
I feel a bit cheated, if I knew this in advance I would have invested in another sub and not bose's own.
When I watch your video, you don't mention anything about this at all. Many people speak highly of this speaker combination, but I don't understand why more people bring it up.
I rented out this combination and the customer immediately called me and asked why there was so much hum in the speakers. I could only tell him to turn down the volume on the Bose S1 pro.
Same exact thing here. I've tried 1/4" TRS cables versus XLR as someone suggested in that other video, same loud hiss result...approximately 40db of noise from a foot away (using an American Recorder SPL-8810 sound level meter). Tested with three different powered speakers: Bose S1, Everse 8 and QSC K8.2, same hissy result. Workflo: A&H ZED-6FX mixer > Bose Sub1 > powered speaker...all resulting in unacceptable hiss, especially for some of the acoustic-based music I play. Yes, I know about gain staging/structure and how to do it, doesn't matter. Now take the Sub1 out of the equation and go mixer > powered speaker and I get barely perceptible noise.
With regard to this statement: Bose specifically says to use XLR to TRS (balanced). From Bose “If you use and XLR to XLR cable, the signal may be too hot for the S1 Pro system”, again, I tried this exact cable and it doesn't matter, same hissy result.
I agree, I too wish I knew this before buying. Considering returning it as I'm still within the 30 day window, but still, very disappointing.
@@greyboyallstars99 I bought my Sub 1 used so I can't return it. But I try to rent it out together with one or two Bose S1 Pro as a pure bluetooth system, then the sub is silent.
Then I connect from the line out on the tops to the sub's input, and it actually works well.
You wrote that you tested with Everse 8 and QSC K8.2, interesting because I have tested with my Yamaha DXR10 and experienced no hiss with that speaker.
I'll have to try again and do an A/B test between my dxr10 and Bose S1
If it works, I could actually get away with the Sub 1 and two Yamaha tops, and hopefully avoid hiss.
It is clear that it would look better with the same brand on the whole rig, but if it sounds good together with the yamaha, so be it.
Mids and highs are impressive... but the bass is laughable. I was thinking maybe I was a little hard on Bose but , for the price, I get more from JBL. Room shaking bass , ear splitting mids and highs ... plus for the price Bose is asking , I get more equipment from JBL at the same price.
I agree... JBL makes some nice gear, but in this "weight class" it's hard to beat Bose. This is definitely more for us older users that can't lug around heavy speakers or have a need to make ears bleed... I'm paying for sound to weight efficiency these days!
really..... well we sure appreciate your "analysis" and reasoned "judgement" based on this yt video...Laugh My Ass Off
With this setup, can it cater to a ballroom of 500pax?
