"I was under-equipped, I was cocky and now they are going to kill me" is a pretty apt description overall of the WWI Ottoman Empire.
Rather than being cocky, ottomans felt the war was the only option to save the empire. Economic reasons played big part in the decision. By entering the war they refused the debts, capitulations and focused on getting back what was lost before and end up losing all. So it was more of a double or nothing gamble.
From my experience, you need to buff Germany's AI in the game setup by one or two to get them to last long enough for you as a minor to be able to support. As can be seen in this video, the Central Powers collaspe by 1915 or '16 without that buff. Buffing Germany (and even Austria) usually allows them to break Russia by 1916 and hold out until 1918.
Judging by the description, I believe it is referencing the 31 march incident where pro-sultan, conservative and islamist revolts broke out against the 2nd declaration of constitution which ended the absolute monarchy of the sultan. The "4. Avcı Taburu", 4th hunter batallion or the 4th lancers started the riots by seizing control of their barracks and marching in the streets chanting "we want sharia, long live the sultan". Their march to hagia sophia rallied more soldiers and civillians, and it ended up in a bloody revolt.
The worst about these wwi mods is that so very few of them ever consider that the player might not suck as the ottomans. This usually results in there not being a wwi.

24:03 Yeah, it's even worse when you play as Entente member. I played Russia, getting ready, build good industry, dealt with internal politics, almost took Berlin... and scripted peace deal spawned out of nowhere, giving like a couple polish provinces for all the effort.
When you play the Ottomans preparation is key. Rush to the focus which allows you to fix your org spirit before rushing the debt focus and uniform change. Then you should prioritize getting rid of the debt by taking the focuses and decisions to do so, don't worry about getting political advisors, you get plenty from your focus tree. If you are really low on guns or equipment, you should buy some from the Germans who give you the largest amount. You got it right with the italy war by surrounding the ports and killing their divisions whilst they are still low. When the time comes, you have to fully win against the Balkan League (This is by enforcing their capitulation like what you normally would in a hoi4 game). You should cover your entire front with crappy 20/w or 10/w divisions to hold the line whilst having about 8 good divisions to push. You should aim on destroying montenegro which may take a couple of force attacks before naval invading the Peloponnese with your Shocktroops. Land on an undefended port before microing to Athens and then you should just continously attack them until you break their northern front. Now that you have a singular frontline, place your good divisions along the Serbian border and bush to belgrade, Serbia is the backbone of the Balkan league and must be destroyed unlike Bulgaria who stands little chance against your larger army. For WW1, you need to have atleast 1 army of crappy divisions to defend your ports. Divide up your army and prepare to take Yemen and Kuwait along with having the bulk of your army along the Russo-Persian border. Also make sure you have a reserve army to respond to any big naval invasions or entries to the war (Romania, Arab revolt). If your focus tree has it, quickly swipe the Khedivate (The British always accept to hand it over). Having egypt means that you do not have to worry about libya or if you want, can seize the suez and gain naval supremacy over the eastern mediterranean. The Central powers will pretty much get swiped by the fucking demi-god known as France and to a lesser degree the UK so that the Germans always get pushed out of Belgium by 1915 and when It*ly joins, the Austrians just get swiped and lose vienna and before long the Germans surrender.

If you play as Germany, Austria or Italy (joining central Powers), the Entente is no problem at all. But as you mentioned, as Ottomans, your influence in the war is not that much, the AI of Central Powers are not that good. Feels like the Ottomans are a bit... underpowered, at least it was my feeling after doing some runs with them.
Completely agree with the Central powers being too weak, played as Italy the other day and i had to dedicate an entire army to stop Germany from falling while my other army helped with Russia (still had to walk to moscow and took way too long), after Russia collapsed i decided to take my army from Germany after seeing the front had stabilized to try and push France from my border....3 months later and Germany surrenders, i look at them and see that France managed to push 1 TILE into German territory 8.5/10 mod would recommend Edit: oh yeah! i noticed Early game your best shock troops are 6 mountaineers and 3 artillery (6/3). they absolutely melt any division the AI has early-game and crushed the Balkan League as Bulgaria
i'm glad you're having the same issues with the ottoman empire i did i came to the conclusion that its almost impossible to make the ottomans actually win, and that's with winning the balkan war in less than a year and remembering all the fronts you forgot. basically, the ottoman empire, while historically accurate, is actually so weak that a gentle breeze would cause it to disintegrate into a pile of kebabs the other central powers minors and majors need a massive buff or rework in order to strengthen them, as well as the ai for germany. don't know if you noticed but like one year into the game belgium was pushing into germany now i know i'm not just bad, i'm bad and the mod is unbalanced :D
I much prefer the ww1 mod over playing ww2. Ottoman empire is a super fun challenge. The only path to victory is to completely defeat the balkans before ww1. I challenge you to replay this and win the balkan war completely before ww1.

Austria-Hungary: **Begins war of aggression against Serbia.** Germany: **Begins war of aggression against Belgium.** Italy: **Does not join in with the Central Powers as they have no obligation to.** Central Powers: Why did Italy betray us?
Italy: declares war against their former allies because they were promised their allies lands, they accept the proposal get shat on and they don't even get the promised lands* They would've been better off attacking France and getting Corsica and Piedmont. Also war of aggression my ass, Russia was the first country to start mobilising, the German diplomat to Russia literally got down to his knees and was crying and begging for Russia to stop but they didn't.
as the germans in WW1 shouldn't your High Seas Fleet be big enough to naval invade france without the need to attack belgium? I've never played the mod, just wondering
Ottoman empire is extremely difficult to play but also historically realistic. When you play the Ottomans in a classical way, when you play to win in every front and not lose territory, you lose man-power on every front as a result. In fact, this was one of the reasons why the Ottomans lost the war in our real timeline. The most important thing to do is to damage the Italian troops on the Libyan front as much as you can and move your soldiers from there to the Balkan and Caucasian fronts, when you withdraw from Libya, the enemy will probably take Libya from you, but it's okay, the important thing is to damage the enemy as much as you can and fight least front. Likewise, since the logistics of the Middle East are very weak, take the risk of losing land to the British and Arabs in this region, withdraw from some regions and keep your soldiers only in areas where they can cause serious casualties to the enemy, then gradually shift your troops towards Anatolia, before losing the Middle East, Either you can give oil right to the British or germans, you can make an agreement and ally with Jews for pay the debt and small state in jerusalem very usefull for arap expansion, so even when you lose the region, you will gain many gains before give this lans. Also, since the region will become a boiling cauldron within itself, the Arabs and the British will no longer be a threat to you in sounh anatolia region. When you do these, even if you lose a significant amount of land in Libya and the Middle East, you can achieve success in the Caucasus and the Balkans, and you can gradually grow your economy and army. Later you can take back you losed lands.
i had my own strategy for the balkan war. which was hold in my cored thracian lands with forts and just hold. than germany invited me to the central powers. allowing me to launch a counterattack and win the day

I like that when he called Serbia Persia. LOL
Came here for Royally Phone.
Completely agree with the Central powers being too weak, played as Italy the other day and i had to dedicate an entire army to stop Germany from falling while my other army helped with Russia (still had to walk to moscow and took way too long), after Russia collapsed i decided to take my army from Germany after seeing the front had stabilized to try and push France from my border....3 months later and Germany surrenders, i look at them and see that France managed to push 1 TILE into German territory 8.5/10 mod would recommend
Edit: oh yeah! i noticed Early game your best shock troops are 6 mountaineers and 3 artillery (6/3). they absolutely melt any division the AI has early-game and crushed the Balkan League as Bulgaria
Haha bro I am from Plovdiv and it is the oldest city in Europe! Definitely a nice tourist destination :D
All was NOT quiet on the Russian front.
i'm glad you're having the same issues with the ottoman empire i did
i came to the conclusion that its almost impossible to make the ottomans actually win, and that's with winning the balkan war in less than a year and remembering all the fronts you forgot. basically, the ottoman empire, while historically accurate, is actually so weak that a gentle breeze would cause it to disintegrate into a pile of kebabs
the other central powers minors and majors need a massive buff or rework in order to strengthen them, as well as the ai for germany. don't know if you noticed but like one year into the game belgium was pushing into germany
now i know i'm not just bad, i'm bad and the mod is unbalanced :D
This basically checkmates Benito's Reputation as if it already wasnt
25:23 ah yes. Slovenetherlands
10:02 “Persia”, oh well, everyone makes mistakes, I guess. It was funny though.
Yes the great Balkan nation of persia 10:00 XD
this video is practically a disaster save
Ottoman Empire needs a major buff
There is a famous myth in Türkiye which is "We were considered as a loser because Germany lost the war."
I believe this video is a proof.
the focus " mamma li turchi " is hilarious
I much prefer the ww1 mod over playing ww2. Ottoman empire is a super fun challenge. The only path to victory is to completely defeat the balkans before ww1.
I challenge you to replay this and win the balkan war completely before ww1.
The Ottoman Empire is surely a pure struggle
T1 Naval bases are way faster than a supply hub and give enough to stabilise or even push to another naval base
"I have way too many fronts and I don't have enough units to handle any of it"

As a Turk, I would've occupied Vienna in 1917.
As we all know
Gigachad is Estonian, who belong to the finno-ugric family
Which means he is part of Turan, therefore, you are correct

Lol that's what I actually managed to do in one of my games, except it was 1916 and I just conquered more land than it took the real empire to conquer in almost 400 years..
realistik mod indeed amirite?
@@igameidoresearchtoo6511 balkan war is surprisingly easy, you can get a huge industry too and then go to war with central powers and entente by justifying
I like this mod but it needs to be fleshed out a lot more. The frontlines are way too static (understandable since its WW1 but still kinda repetitive) and the scripted events like peace deals really disrupt any kind of gameplay that someone has
Use to be that The Central Powers were overpowered, I guess they over corrected
Bitt3rSteel ive seen you grow from a small 22k sub youtuber. and enjoyed your tutorials and videos. I would watch you tutorials for fun instead of using them. But in your newer videos you ahev added sound affects. Which seems out of place in the style of you videos. (loving the backround cafe music) but this is just a suggestion.
I bet Serbia being called Persia made them feel good, a brain fart but funny.
for what i know
the 4th lancers were a regiment in the belgian task force
Play as Ottoman in 1600's you will love it
I wold apreciate you playing Austria-Hungary in the ww1 mod, it's a nation that doesn't get any love.
PD:Sorry for my bad english, I'm not a native
I love playing Austria-Hungary games
@@Bitt3rSteel opps, I didn't see your Austria hungary playthrough on Austria hungary.
Austria-Hungary and Germany: Hey Italy. We have a defensive alliance. So you only have to join if we're attacked.
Italy: Cool.
Austria-Hungary: **Begins war of aggression against Serbia.**
Germany: **Begins war of aggression against Belgium.**
Italy: **Does not join in with the Central Powers as they have no obligation to.**
Central Powers: Why did Italy betray us?
Italy: declares war against their former allies because they were promised their allies lands, they accept the proposal get shat on and they don't even get the promised lands*
They would've been better off attacking France and getting Corsica and Piedmont.
Also war of aggression my ass, Russia was the first country to start mobilising, the German diplomat to Russia literally got down to his knees and was crying and begging for Russia to stop but they didn't.
Oh boy wait until the war ends than the real pain *starts*
Dude there is no need to specify that you regret playing the Ottomans, anybody who even looks at the Ottoman emprie instantly regrets it
i like this mod, i played Germany and won in two years because howiszers mean i dont have to go against belgium and can just go through the maginot
as the germans in WW1 shouldn't your High Seas Fleet be big enough to naval invade france without the need to attack belgium? I've never played the mod, just wondering
@@markusz4447 nope getting the naval invasion tech takes way to long as you start in 1910
@@yaboi672 ah I see.
Understandable the ottomans during WW1 have been struggling a lot
you should send this to bitt3rsteel
Dude thank you so much i was trying the ottoman empire for 10 hours
I would recommend to play as Germany and and go the Holy Roman Empire route
Müttefiklerimiz yenildiği için biz de yenilmiş mi sayıldık şimdi? 😂 Ben bunu bir yerlerden hatırlıyorum.
Later you can take back you losed lands.
i had my own strategy for the balkan war. which was hold in my cored thracian lands with forts and just hold. than germany invited me to the central powers. allowing me to launch a counterattack and win the day
Just go to the Abdulhamid way. It's the best way imo and Abdulhamid II has good buffs.
please make a video about the navy destroying all enemies! Maybe with Italy! it has no content about the navy that shows it really strong! explore it and teach us how to use it!
You made a design for a heavy cruiser that didn't prove to be as effective in one of your previous videos, maybe you should try again more effectively, how about trying it out and showing us?
Any chance we could get an update for the base game Ottoman Empire guide?
