To me they look like horses, with the front of the speeder looking like the head, and the bits below it looking like a bridle, also the fin on the back of that part looks like a mane. I see where you're coming from with the face though.

@@longwlenguyen4214 A year late but the nerd in me feels compelled. Las weapons in dune have a nuclear reaction if they make contact with a shield. Since shields are commonplace, it's basically guaranteed you're going to set off a nuclear explosion if you have soldiers firing las weapons at each other all the time. The only things that can penetrate a shield are objects moving slow enough that the shield doesn't pick them up as a threat. That's why they commonly fight with blades. There IS specialized ammo but that's more in the arsenal of assassins or very elite troops. You still have to get like, the perfect shot because the projectile has to slow itself down long enough to pass through the shield. But the #1 reason is sword/knife fights are cool :)

Im mean gen 1 clone trooper armor was good. Most times you see a Clone go down to a blaster round is because hes unconcious not dead. They throw them un a bacta tank and boom ready to go out and kill again.
Possibly a light sidearm shot at enough distance at the right angle that it didn't do any lethal damage. Fun fact: clone trooper armour didn't have the energy dispersal systems stormtroopers had. Stormtroopers who got shot usually didn't die, they just fell down.

Jousting speeders is an idea I wish we saw more of. The future may have blasters and jetpacks, but a well positioned cavalry flank has turned every battle in history.
the best thing about this is that neither side had to wait and request for these speed bikes to be sent here. So both Durge and Obi-Wan said to thought to themselves that the one thing they both needed for a giant city siege was a whole armies worth of speed bike lancers.

You would expect there to be more variation to their designa if they had been requisitioned from the public. Even if they had been that's also no simple feat to track down thousand of speeder bike owners from around the city, certify that their bikes are up to a military grade standard and then centralize them for quick deployment especially during all the other preparations that go into a siege. Then there's the droids that drive them, as far as I know that's not a standard Federation design so they may have been custom made for this army, the lances they use are also quite high quality considering they can cause armored vehicles to explode from one solid hit. All I'm saying is that a lot of time, effort and preparation went into preparing this fighting force for a battle taking place in a massive city, which is not the usual place you would expect to see shock cavalry deployed. And the Republic also went through all that trouble to produce the exact same army seemingly for this one battle.

Well, other than interesting characters (my opinion but one in which most agree on), much better fights (choreography is factual), much better strategies (strategy is factual), much better tactics (factual), much better plot (most agree and it actaully has a plot so I don't see how any would disagree and be serious), preferrable animation (in my opinion), doing a better job at showing Anakin's dark side and fall than anything else (Opinion but if someone disagrees with this and has seen it all I give up on existing), and the list goes on and on and on. Other than all that, the new one has nothing on this. The realistic fights, weaponry, artillery, combat scenarios, tactics, strategies, character motivations, personalities, and situations pertaining to war are why I love it. Some of these still aren't to the degree I would want in all episodes (some "Dei ex machinā" moments, some odd situations, some bad military decisions, and some really dumb unnamed clones) but the overall quality is just so much better. People take Grievous as a major issue for this and I agree but I hated the one from here. A nice mix of the two animated cyborg droid generals would have been my cup of tea.

The Order 66 retcon with the inhibitor chips, which contradicts what was established in Episode II about the clones being completely obedient and already dependent of their own generals. A complete disregard to the entire EU and the prequels' continuity with many, many plotholes and chronological errors. Need I go on? Also, just because many people like it doesn't mean it's good. Same could be said about the Terminator sequels and the Transformers movies.

It’s actually a good strategy against infantry and was good for weaving in through the artillery. But why on earth would you deploy the exact same strategy against it?
The same reason why they use starfighters to combat starfighters in respect to cruiser batteries. Cannonfire packs a punch against easy targets, but will only win with luck against an agile starfighter. So, you counter agility with agility of your own.
Maybe this weapon is so rare in the galagtic fights, one manufacture left to produce these, and both the Republic and the CIS bought these arms from a same company.

The clone at 2:25 destroying the hailfire droid is an incredibly underrated and badass moment. A couple more moments of clone lancers wreaking havoc on separatist forces the same way the ig lancers destroyed the republic forces would’ve been great

It’s actually a good strategy against infantry and was good for weaving in through the artillery.
But why on earth would you deploy the exact same strategy against it?

The same reason why they use starfighters to combat starfighters in respect to cruiser batteries. Cannonfire packs a punch against easy targets, but will only win with luck against an agile starfighter. So, you counter agility with agility of your own.
I was thinking speeder with heavy mounted sidecars would have been better against these lancer droids.
