      @dressednplaid4875 Год назад +3

      @@longwlenguyen4214 A year late but the nerd in me feels compelled. Las weapons in dune have a nuclear reaction if they make contact with a shield. Since shields are commonplace, it's basically guaranteed you're going to set off a nuclear explosion if you have soldiers firing las weapons at each other all the time. The only things that can penetrate a shield are objects moving slow enough that the shield doesn't pick them up as a threat. That's why they commonly fight with blades. There IS specialized ammo but that's more in the arsenal of assassins or very elite troops. You still have to get like, the perfect shot because the projectile has to slow itself down long enough to pass through the shield.
      But the #1 reason is sword/knife fights are cool :)

  • @emptank
    @emptank 5 лет назад +11

    the best thing about this is that neither side had to wait and request for these speed bikes to be sent here. So both Durge and Obi-Wan said to thought to themselves that the one thing they both needed for a giant city siege was a whole armies worth of speed bike lancers.

    • @emptank
      @emptank 4 года назад

      @@schlachtfilms7179 if the speeders were from the city they must've been privately owned ones since I can't think of a reason why a city would need large numbers of publicly owned motorcycles after all they don't make for good taxi services or anything. You would expect there to be more variation to their designa if they had been requisitioned from the public. Even if they had been that's also no simple feat to track down thousand of speeder bike owners from around the city, certify that their bikes are up to a military grade standard and then centralize them for quick deployment especially during all the other preparations that go into a siege. Then there's the droids that drive them, as far as I know that's not a standard Federation design so they may have been custom made for this army, the lances they use are also quite high quality considering they can cause armored vehicles to explode from one solid hit.
      All I'm saying is that a lot of time, effort and preparation went into preparing this fighting force for a battle taking place in a massive city, which is not the usual place you would expect to see shock cavalry deployed.
      And the Republic also went through all that trouble to produce the exact same army seemingly for this one battle.

    • @timothystrickland7278
      @timothystrickland7278 6 лет назад +10

      Well, other than interesting characters (my opinion but one in which most agree on), much better fights (choreography is factual), much better strategies (strategy is factual), much better tactics (factual), much better plot (most agree and it actaully has a plot so I don't see how any would disagree and be serious), preferrable animation (in my opinion), doing a better job at showing Anakin's dark side and fall than anything else (Opinion but if someone disagrees with this and has seen it all I give up on existing), and the list goes on and on and on.
      Other than all that, the new one has nothing on this.
      The realistic fights, weaponry, artillery, combat scenarios, tactics, strategies, character motivations, personalities, and situations pertaining to war are why I love it. Some of these still aren't to the degree I would want in all episodes (some "Dei ex machinā" moments, some odd situations, some bad military decisions, and some really dumb unnamed clones) but the overall quality is just so much better.
      People take Grievous as a major issue for this and I agree but I hated the one from here. A nice mix of the two animated cyborg droid generals would have been my cup of tea.

    • @timothystrickland7278
      @timothystrickland7278 6 лет назад +1

      Before I get corrected about "Deum ex machinā"
      - Deus ex machina is a Latin phrase that is somewhat idiomatic
      - It comes from their plays in which a representation of a literal god would come out in puppet form from a wire and save the heroes
      - Machines and technology apply to anything made with the application of science, e.g. a sharpened or blunt stick for hunting (spear, club) or a computer. To the Romans, a pulley system would be a machine and technology; to us it should be the same but the words have changed to digital concepts (more specifically technology)
      - Deus = god in the nominative case (Second Declension: Deus, Dei, Masculine)
      - ex = a modifier for ablatives that her means "out of" or "from"
      - machinā = machine in the ablative case (First Declension: Machina, Machinae, Feminine)
      - *Nominative Singular, Genitive Singular, Gender* -
      First Declension | Singular | Plural
      Nominative -a -ae
      Genitive -ae -arum
      Dative -ae -is
      Accusative -am -as
      Ablative -ā -is
      Second Declension Masculine -us | Singular | Plural
      Nominative -us -i
      Genitive -i -orum
      Dative -o -is
      Accusative -um -is
      Ablative -ō -is
      - Dei ex machinā
      gods from the machine
      As there are multiple incidents this is the way to say it...
      ...
      .........
      !
      I could have avoided that by just saying "a few moments that the heroes are saved "deus ex machina"
      Too late now, here's your lesson. ^^

    • @pablocardoso7830

      "much better plot"
      Darth Maul is alive.
      Anakin has a padawan and is already a Jedi Knight only 2 months after Episode II, which is nonsensical.
      Obi-Wan encounters and fights Grievous many times, despite the fact in Episode III they both act as if they've met each other for the first time.
      The Order 66 retcon with the inhibitor chips, which contradicts what was established in Episode II about the clones being completely obedient and already dependent of their own generals.
      A complete disregard to the entire EU and the prequels' continuity with many, many plotholes and chronological errors.
      Need I go on?
      Also, just because many people like it doesn't mean it's good. Same could be said about the Terminator sequels and the Transformers movies.
