I suppose the sayin is true, " One man's junk is another man's treasure ". It's truly unbelieveable what valuable discarded items you will find on trash piles. Great find. Be Safe, and God Bless! Zack, that is a mechanics dream find! Congrats. on the find. The tools look as though they were well taken care of.
Great score on the Craftsman tools, I have a set that my brother gave me 60 years ago (Christmas Gift) and they are still the highlight of my tool box.
Very nice i picked up a whole toolbox up in south Queensland Australia i think they went over a bump on the road the man or lady lost it of the back of there ute or truck very nice like what you got i use it all the time very lucky i dont know who's it was so cant return it to them but very nice like yours
Hi Zach: That first punch was a screw extractor. the next punch is a nail set for driving headless nail in a board to put wood putty over the top. Spark plug gap gauge.
I still have part of a set of Thorsen sockets I bought in 1989. The rest of them were stolen, but they are very good tools, especially compared to today's Chinesium stuff. Ditto for the old Craftsman stuff. That crimping tool in the case is probably for Ethernet connectors, for computer wired internet connections. They're not used much any more, because you can buy cables pre-made for next to nothing. I used to do internet and phone cabling, years ago, and still have my old RJ45 Ethernet crimper, although I haven't used it in probably at least 20 years. That's a great score, especially the Craftsman 12*point sockets.
Zach, the guage is for Spark plugs, there is a tool on the side of it to change the gap on the plug, also the one tool with stairated sides is a conduit holder you pound it into a stud and it holds conduit in place.
I remember as kids, 68 now, we had a heavy garbage day twice a year. My dad would drive around taking broken items and fixing them up. I still put things by the curb and time how long until someone picks it up. I live on a busy street do it doesn’t take long.
Nice free hall!!!! I'd cleanup that tool box, Rhino-Line it and use at out at the tent or other out-door activities. Rhino-Lining that box should pretty much water proof it and keep it looking great for years.
Everything Craftsman is lifetime warranty. You don't need a kit! Lowes quit replacing them but in Illinois we have Blain's Farm and Fleet that replaced them. I, personally, have had issues with the 1/2 inch drive socket wrenches. I've replaced 2 and finally switched to Snap On. Great find!
Nice score Zach, those tools are probably better than most modern ones, just need a clean-up. Thought you may have mentioned "Klein" tools...They are pro-quality too. Looks like you got a few hundred $ worth of good tools.
KLEIN tools are electricians version of Mac tools for mechanics...I'm an electrician and have 3 pairs of those side cutters...in Canada, 40$ a piece, and lifetime warranty.....Good find Zack...lm a subscriber to your channel and your dad's....follow weekly....Cheers buddy..
Great find!! Round thing is a spark plug gap and electrode bender, thorsen is old school wrench manufacturer great quality, SK like Snap On ,Mac,Matco ,tool truck stuff, great brand as well, uni bit great drill bits, look them up .. Another mans trash is your treasure!! Stay safe and have a great day.👍🤓👍🤓.Randy.
Huge score! I'm in Landscape maintainance, and have a collection of tools I've found over the years 😎👍🏻 Also definately look up that comic book. Could be worth a lot of money.
You might check the value out of the comic books, especially the Superman one. It might have some collector value. Very nice haul and interesting to me as I am downsizing and have tools I am not sure what I want to do with yet. It is just getting too much for me at my age to keep such a large collection. On the other hand, the minute I sell or give them away, I will have a use for one or more of them.
Well it's a good thing I know comics😂. The first book is the Death of Superman back in 1993 DC decided to kill off Superman and the up roar was so big some people started to buy up a bunch of copies thinking they were going retire rich. The book is a newsstand edition looks to be first print $9.00 to $15.00. The second book is from creator Jeff Smith called Bone no 7 4th print signed about $15.00 ungraded.
the metal disc you found is at time index 10:43 is for gauging the gap for spark plugs, i had one just like it when I did service work on small engine repair, it was like from the 1970's which is similar to most equipment I used to use.
That metal tray with all the 12 point sockets I've seen for sale on the interwebs for around $100. I'd say you got a few hundred dollars worth of stuff there, easily. Nice find.
In the old days of Sears you could take any wrench to the store and they would replace it or ratchets put new internals in. I got old ratchets at yard sales and went to sears toswap out or repair. Took 5 minutes. Lowes bought craftsman brand. Might want to check. Lifetime warranty is lifetime warranty.
That Millers Falls is a quality nail set! your small wrench heads are called crows feet, SK was as good as Snap On. looks like most of those tools are from the late 60's and 70's, good score!
we just did that both my parents past away and we went through all there stuff and if it looked like something that wouldnt sale on a garge sale we put it on the lawn next to the curb and said free we had recliners tv stand dressers and all kinds of stuff we put out for free. its nicer to put it out for free and give it away then take it to good will were there make money on your free stuff.
That's a gauge to measure the gaps and set the gaps on spark plugs. That first punch is a punch and a easy out to extract bolts you could use it as a rimmer also
Zack that Death of Superman comic is somewhat of a collectors item. I’m not sure how much it would go for now but I’d hold onto it and be careful with it. Death of Superman was a major comics event in the early 90s.
That's an excellent find. Anything marked "MADE IN USA" is better than today's Craftsman. I don't believe Craftsman Tools are USA made today. May even been made with lighter cheaper material. That may be why your newer set feels different. I'd try a rebuild kit for anything marked "MADE IN USA" and except a replacement as a last option. Either way you are ahead.
The round gauge with the wire wings is a feeler gauge. The cutouts on the two handles are for changing the spark gap on the electrode of a spark plug. Old school feeler gauge.
You can take that broken craftsman ratchet and get it replaced for free. Lowe’s does it and maybe Home Depot. Ace hardware will do it if they around 10 years old. I brought a broken ratchet to Lowe’s that I had for 18 years and they replaced it no questions asked
Hey Zach, what a find ! I would say the box and tools would be worth $ 500 today, even used. Were any of the wrenches or socket set say " Williams " ? They were the best ever made.
That's the difference between being up north and being down south, like I am. Down here we keep everything! You will never find that on the side of a road. It might get given away to a relative who needs a hand or a neighbor who helped you but never given away for free. It is not unusual to see 2 or 3 old cars parked off to the side of the house "just in case". We are different down here!
USA made SK and Thorson are high quality especially SK. I believe Cen Tech and Powrcraft (Mongomery Wards house brand) are Japanese so probably okay but not as good as the previous two. True Craft is an old brand I’m not sure on the quality, if it says USA it’s probably decent. As others have said the round tool is for spark plugs. USA made Craftsman screwdrivers are worth something if in decent shape and added into a set.
Good find, the punch is an easeout. The round guage is for checking spark plug gap.
The gauge is a spark plug gapper, with today’s prices more like 500$ , nice score
what? that spark plug gapper is $3.99 at Summit. LOLOL!!!!
@@MeredithVidman $500 for the entire tool box and tools
I got my first car in 1973 and Daddy taught me how to care for it. That is a spark plug gapper. Long time no see.
It’s a Kastar. Ones in much better condition are listed as low as $5 and up to $20 on eBay. Where did you get your price from?
@@McGyverGuy2Fly 500 for ALL the tools
That reminds me of looking through my dad’s old toolbox. I never did know what happened to his tools. This would have been back in the ‘60s.
What you called "wrench heads" are crowfoot (or crows foot) wrenches. Useful for a variety of tight places.
I never heard a universal joint being called a wobbler, but it sure is fitting.
Have a Jesus filled day everyone Greg in Michigan
That tool box couldn't have gone to a better guy!
Very nice tool score. We need a $30 boat update :)
I have had my Craftsman tools since I was a teenager and I'm 71 years old and they are in excellent condition.
Great score on the Craftsman tools, I have a set that my brother gave me 60 years ago (Christmas Gift) and they are still the highlight of my tool box.

Klein pronounced like line that round gauge is a spark plug gapper the snap on wobble was called a swivel head, you got a good haul of old tools there
Yah, the sparky in me took that one to heart!!
You absolutely scored. Congratulations Zach !
Nice video. It is great to see you still doing videos.
Looks Like A Craftsman Box! Nice Find!
Hi Zach: That first punch was a screw extractor. the next punch is a nail set for driving headless nail in a board to put wood putty over the top. Spark plug gap gauge.
great find, that round tool is🤩👍👍 a wire spark plug guage and spacer wires to set spark gape.

Where I live we have a junk pickup every three months. You would be amazed at what some people set out for it. Good find.
Hey Zach, that’s a blessing and you know exactly what to do with it! 👏👏👏👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤩🤩🤩💯💯💯
Nice score.
That round gauge is a spark plug gapper. I received one from my Dad back in the day. 🙂
Nice score, Zach!
I got a 50ltr (13 US Gal) air compressor from a park nearby my house. Works a treat!
Nice free hall!!!! I'd cleanup that tool box, Rhino-Line it and use at out at the tent or other out-door activities. Rhino-Lining that box should pretty much water proof it and keep it looking great for years.

Spark plug gaper! Valuable
Damn “Z” that’s one hell,of a find!!! Congrats
great find! great video!
Awesome find!
Nice!!
Awesome share- Have a great day
Great find!
Great video! Maybe more than a few hundred 😊
The "punch" with the rough surface right behind the head is a nail punch
Well it's a good thing I know comics😂. Better put an airtag on that ten mm
I havent purchased a new set in decades, so it's been decades since I've seen one of those 10mm thingies.
🤣
Thornson and S-K were lifetime warranty tools but I don't know who would warranty them nowadays. They were sold at NAPA or Carquest back in the 70's
If your wife doesn't want the Nourishing Traditions Cookbook, I'm guessing Melissa will enjoy it.

I’m still wondering about that boat you picked up cheap. How’s that coming along?
The nice thing with the craftsman tools is anything broke you can replace for free. It has a lifetime warranty.
Those Craftsman screwdrivers with the clear handles, you can put the box end of a wrench on it for for more torque.
Sweet find, Zach! I have a box like that but it's not in as good condition as that one you found.
That Millers Falls is a quality nail set! your small wrench heads are called crows feet, SK was as good as Snap On. looks like most of those tools are from the late 60's and 70's, good score!

You can get replacements at Lowes for the craftsman stuff. Or Northern Tool.
That's a gauge to measure the gaps and set the gaps on spark plugs. That first punch is a punch and a easy out to extract bolts you could use it as a rimmer also
Great score there eh!
Omg those comic books could be a big money. Let us know!
Zack that Death of Superman comic is somewhat of a collectors item. I’m not sure how much it would go for now but I’d hold onto it and be careful with it. Death of Superman was a major comics event in the early 90s.
I have all the same tools in the 70s and early 80s.
I believe Craftsman has lifetime warranty. Return it and they send you a new one
Is there any sears stores around to return the craftsman tools. I have a few things to return myself
@@Rick-ko5sj not around here anymore, but someone commented that Home Depot will exchange
@@duaneklein4924 Not home depot. It's Lowes and Ace that carry Craftsman tools now.

That Nourishing Traditions cookbook is a FIND!!
Great score. I thought the phone plug box was Battleship!! lol
ALWAYS save Nuts and Bolts you never know when you might need them and they are NOT cheap anymore.

Paint that box ,make it look good ,nice score

Yep spark plug gap checker. With the tool to adjust the gap.
Hey Zach, what a find ! I would say the box and tools would be worth $ 500 today, even used. Were any of the wrenches or socket set say " Williams " ? They were the best ever made.
We call it “highway shopping” and it’s very fun.
Heck of a score guy....
SK is a very good brand.
That's a great knife, it's not a Barlow or a Swiss Army knife, Colonial is the brand.
10:50. A hammer clamp. Used to clamp conduit or pipe, probably 3/4", to any surface that it can be hammered in to, typically wood
You made out like a champ with that toolbox.
10:59 it’s a spike for metal conduit in wood studs
The small wrenches are called crowsfeet they are used on cars and any tight spots you might need them for
At 9:36 mark that’s not a punch, that’s an easy out bit. They generally sell them in a kit
Any tools that are free are a good score.
Quite a score!
your wrenches are called "crows feet and the other thing is for holding pipe. Drive it into the wall or stud "
You can take the craftsman in and they will replace it for free i think home depot does it now
I thought craftsman went out of business?
If I’m not mistaken, craftsman tools have a lifetime warranty so you should be able to replace the broken ratchet and a craftsman dealer
S-K is a good, professional brand.
Klein is the best USA electrician tool company

Sk is a good tool.
