I have learnt a lot from your videos over the years Gerolf, so many projects and a very wide range of skills is unusual in a person. A small hack to improve the fume collection of your plasma cutter is to cover the non cutting areas with either thin plate or a welding blanket. Also I note the distance from the table to the water pan. Most setups I have seen or used have the water pan quite close to the table. Not sure if this is for convenience or effectiveness, but it is easier to recover small parts that would fall through the grates. Keep up the great videos.
i wish the people who made these tools were still alive to this day to look and see how their hard work is being treated with love and respect even to this day.

I still have my dad's old drill press which he got from my grandfather as payment for installing some windows in their house. It was incomplete and he had to fabricate the parts necessary to make it whole. It was painted grey and red in color. He painted the parts he made red to remind his father in law how much work it took to make his 'payment' work. My grandfather was a VERY cheap guy. LOL. I really like the look of the wood stand/table adapter. It is very functional for holding drill bit sets and such during use. Great video and it is good to see you put your skills to work to keep those thieving miscreants at bay. Cheers from TX USA !!!

We Brits live in a small country, Australia is on another level size wise. If I could, I would like be a student for my entire life. I love learning and trying new things. I get the feeling that you share that mindset. If I can ever go to Germany, I would really like to meet you!
Dear me! Gerolf, You have grown! Both as an inventor & tinkerer, but also as video creator. I'm a fan of yours for quite some time, as your ideas have always appealed to me a lot, but I used to think that some of your creations although functional were a bit dodgy and lacking in quality or appearance, but I have to admit that you've gained professionalism, you're making much better and prettier stuff then before. It's so nice to see that you're always improving! I also really like the new slightly more personal formula of the videos, which are more than just repairathons. Huge kudos! Also - though I am a smidge spoiled with newer technology (not a great fan of 60-70's tools, which very super durable, but much more bulky and less ergonomic then modern ones)I think I share your passion and live objectives. Of repair, reuse and create instead of buy. I've been keen on many areas, to some degree on electronics, computers, audio equipment, but lately drifted very much towards automotive and mechanics, currently working mostly on bringing back to live my 33 year old Toyota 4x4, also making a ton of improvements to make it future proof for years to come. I remember you solving issues with your Subaru, and I was thinking - ohhh that's my field of expertise! I could have helped! My workshop is very small and modest, yet very well organized and it gives me what I need to do. I'm currently located in eastern Poland, not very attractive region, but I'm a frequent traveler and i move living places from time to time too. Not really recommending this region for a journey, though should you be in the area - feel invited. Also, will gladly join you in your lab, to help, to chat and to x-change experiences and knowledge. Wir konnen auch in Deutsch reden, aber leider bin ich nicht so flußich als in English, vor allem der technische Wortschatz fehlt mir.
Best wishes from Tasmania, Australia. A guy like you could make a wonderful life over here. Here in Tassie it's a bit like the Black Forest used to be years ago. Rural, lots of trees and fields. We get the 4 seasons (unlike most of Australia), and the big plus is that there is almost no crime. With your skillset, I expect that you'd have no problems gettiing a work visa, and then citizenship, which is what I did when I moved here from a deteriorating UK 20 years ago. Honestly, I wish I'd left Europe sooner! I've been various places in the World, and to make a life, Tasmania takes some beating! Whatever you do when you come over to Aussie, for pity's sake don't just go to Sydney... the big cities in Australia are all the same and the worst parts. Go bush and meet some REAL Aussies! Just a quick comment about your machining... Watching all those passes with the milling machine made me wonder whether you'd considered simply using your 3d printed part to make a mould, and then use this to cast the part in aluminium. Did you think of this option?
Having something stolen is the worst feeling ever! and sometimes the damage they cause in getting in costs more than the financial loss of the theft. Maybe having a small attractive power tool with a tracker inside might be a good thing, although I hope your security upgrades are enough to discourage these scummy thieves in the future. I really enjoyed the video, fabricating is one of my favourite jobs in my workshop, the housing is awsome and looks although it is an original part. I have a MPCNC machine for wood milling, your video has inspired me to remake some of the smaller 3d printed parts in aluminium, I would love to make some 3D printed metal parts but the filament and debinding service costs a fortune and so I will mill them on my manual mini mill.
Sorry to hear you have been feeling down about things...but I hope this helps.. remember if you worry you'll die and if you don't worry you will still die..so why worry...this little saying helped me in my life.. good luck..😊
About the tumbler/dryer. The Lawnmower Lady (yt channel) is using hers to tumble and clean rusty gastanks. I think that's a brilliant Idea. Just put it on cold, and seal the tank very good... Works fine! Of course you have to stuff some old cussion to pack it tight in there😉also tumble some smoll metal parts could be handy in there🤔😏. Betonmischmaschine geht natürlich auch aber ich finde die sind immer so laut😎😂
sorry about the burglaries I’m very glad that you’re looking at the opportunities that your youtube + half a million subscribers gives you access to…. good job, well done.
I get tremendous vicarious pleasure watching your videos. I'm a frustrated tinkerer who would dearly love to have a workshop of some kind so that I could make things. I am in the process of creating a corner of my living room as a place where I can work on refurbishing older computers which I will upgrade to run on Linux and then give them away to people in need of a computer. I look forward to watching you work on your various projects. I'm sorry to hear about the issues you have been facing regarding the break-ins and the littering. I don't know what the petty crime rate has historically been in Germany, but it does surprise me somewhat that littering has become a problem - I always thought that of all European countries. the UK was by far the scruffiest in terms of littering, which has always been near epidemic proportions.
Yes the 🇬🇧 is a disgrace these days. I can remember that I'd get a clip around the ear if I'd dropped litter in the 60's, certainly a right telling off from my mum and dad. These days if you remonstrated with someone, even an 8 year old the least you'd get is being told to F off.
I completely understand where you're coming from. Its also happening SO often in the States. 2 weeks ago I had someone break into my shop and stole $15000 worth of stuff. The stuff he didn't steal, he broke. It's so frustrating. And if we're being completely honest, there's no valid excuse for it. Drug addicts are a HUGE problem, and we are constantly pretending like it's not. If I'm ever near Germany, I would LOVE to meet you, as I have a handful of inventions I'd love to get your insight on. Keep up the great work!
Youve inspired me for a few years now to create and repair and repurpose. Im in Brisbane australia and will send you an email for hangs., stay strong mate
The blower adapter is interesting, here in australia 125mm ducting is common, I might go pick up a few old dryers for the motors. Thank you for the ideas
The belt cover is 10/10 looks great. There is some irony in the scrap you repair now being desirable enough to cause a break in, people suck. Stay safe, keep up the good work. And protect whats yours! I had an idea to stop people from drinking beers and leaving their cans at the back door of our shop. We cant do anything drastic but I want to put up a sign that says "RADIATION LEVELS NORMAL" a subtle threat that there is radiation, and letting them decide what normal is.
As always, great content! I love the variety of projects you work on, and all the neat things that you save from the scrap heap. Stay positive and keep up the great work.
Keep up the work you are doing as the things that you are finding and bringing back to life again is very good. If you come back over to the UK and over to West Wales it would be good

You should consider a trip to the American Rustbelt-Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, et al. Goes well with the theme of you channel and it'd be a pretty authentic American experience.
I'm sorry for your loss. Having been a victim of high value theft this week myself, it's a kick in the head. In the States the amount of crime is staggering and skyrocketing.
Gerolf, love your videos. Too bad about the break ins and crime. Unfortunately it happens all too often here in the USA also. You probably knew this but if you have your water table right under the cutting torch ( mine material when I’m cutting actually touches the water) the cutting smoke is actually minimal. That being said I’m currently working on a hood above the table that is going to pull the rest of the fumes from the shop. The problem here in Minnesota in the winter is it gets extremely cold like -20 to -40F cold. And when you suck the fumes out, you have to have make up air into the building which means you have to let the cold air in. Good luck!
Always a pleasure to see TPAI projects. Best wishes from the UK. Those are some serious mill cutters you have. I hope "I did a thing" sends an invite. Over time your machining capabilities have mushroomed. I get the feeling you have an eye for the artistic beauty of machines as well as their functional purpose and for well made and well thought out ruggidness. Have you thought about making art exhibits, clocks, heath robinson, water displays ? And Happy Birthday.

If I could, I would like be a student for my entire life. I love learning and trying new things. I get the feeling that you share that mindset. If I can ever go to Germany, I would really like to meet you!
I'm nieve enough to think yard thieves were only in America. Love your videos man.
It was nice to open up, Gerolf! Hi from Michael
As soon as my workshop is (more or less) finished, you're welcome to come over and visit Belgium!
I am sorry about the security issues. Beautiful work!
Really great job on the housing for the drill press. I never realized how big that thing was.
Glad your able to make the upgrades to your machines. Gonna have a great machine shop there soon.
Lets goo, another video from my favorite german man. I was just getting bored. Thank you
What a beautiful job on the belt housing. It almost looks original.
Great video Gerolf! You are one hell of an engineer. A mutch better version of me😊
New enclosure looks nice and professional, also this way the machine is way safer to use. Great job!
Excellent craftsmanship as always.👍🏻
Great episode You got a lot done . Crime is running rampant everywhere . Even in Canada .
It will be good to see you make new ways forward and connections with new people.
sorry about the burglaries
I’m very glad that you’re looking at the opportunities that your youtube + half a million subscribers gives you access to…. good job, well done.
Sorry to hear about your losses, hopefully you might get some of them back. 😢
Youve inspired me for a few years now to create and repair and repurpose. Im in Brisbane australia and will send you an email for hangs., stay strong mate
Your tools and gear are amazing--and the C&C Plasma Cutter and the Gantry you made are insane; I love your videos, and I wish I had your skills!
The blower adapter is interesting, here in australia 125mm ducting is common, I might go pick up a few old dryers for the motors. Thank you for the ideas
My Compliments sir. Your work is exemplary and your workshop is to die for. I really like!
I love you work, mate. From the projects and equipment, to your ideas and execution, as well as the filming and edits. Cheers from Australia.
Ha! I posted this comment about half way through the video, and here you are thinking about coming Down Under. Great choice! (I may be biased)
I love your way of thinking. You do a great job. Thanks for sharing. Greetings from France
As always, great content! I love the variety of projects you work on, and all the neat things that you save from the scrap heap. Stay positive and keep up the great work.
That plasma cutter is amazing. Thank you for the Miele dryer info.
Keep up the work you are doing as the things that you are finding and bringing back to life again is very good. If you come back over to the UK and over to West Wales it would be good
Hi Gerolf, excellent video as always. So much content packed into 40 minutes - brilliant entertainment/edutainment! Hello from the UK. And belated birthday wishes!
I did enjoy the old drill press along with belt guard, the base was nice to add and the wooden bench. :)
Hot tip from a poor tradie.
Circular saw blades make for handy disc cutters in a pinch.
only on ally though
WOW Gerolf, you are coming to my country Australia - this is awesome!!! Never thought that would happen. As a viewer of your channel from your start on RUclips it would be an honour to meet you. I will contact for sure!!👍. I still have your 'patch' on my fridge mate!
Brilliant work Gerolf 😊
Your video was great! Please keep making them. Thank you for your hard work and keen mind.
Greetings from Poland🇵🇱
i hope you can mete Dave from EEV blog in Australia he's an awesome dude! would be nice to see you both in a Collab video im sure you will have a lot in common.
sorry to hear about the break in stuff that guy was clearly petty to steal empty bottles like that!
great video otherwise i thoroughly enjoyed it keep making video's like this they are very interesting and entertaining. I always get excited as soon as you drop a new video it always puts a smile on my face! I just wish we had scrapyards like you have there here in the uk so that i could goto them and buy things but sadly we dont have much like that where i live. we do have scrap yards yes but they are mostly with cars
It's a tougher trip, and a bigger country, but would be happy to see you in Canada!
You should consider a trip to the American Rustbelt-Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan, et al. Goes well with the theme of you channel and it'd be a pretty authentic American experience.
Keep doing the excellent job you have started. Good vibes from Mauritius. 😊
Good luck!
Love the videos. Don't let aspects of life get you down. Look forward to see what you do in Australia.
Great video Gerry love seeing the burn table making u custom parts!
I like your videos. They inspired me to refurbish a couple of tools. Looking for more now.
Nice belt cover, looks factory installed.
Oh wow a trip to Australia, I'm in the west so it's a major effort to make it here from the east, if you are coming to the west I would be glad to meet up and buy you a drink.
Looking good! Love that old drill press.
I love your work !!!! I hope you're doing well from this OLD man.👍👍🙏
Happy Birthday 🎁 🎁 🎂
Great video as always. Funny enough i have the same Miele dryer and it still works like new. I think Miele will over last humanity 😮
Regarding the UK visit, yes i remember, we even chated a bit online as i was living in Southampton back then, but unfortunately Covid had diferent ideas, but well, who knows one day you visit Madeira Island 😊
Only thing missing in the press drill cover is an old AEG metal logo... Will look amazing ❤
Omg you sepnt so much time just making a belt cover for an old machine i can not belive
Dude that drill pressed turned out great!
