    As a assistant manager at home depot I can say 10000000% I am not surprised with the items returned completely salvaged and/or complete trash inside a different box. My favorite is a dewalt tool with a few rocks and newspaper stuffed inside.

    • @dynamiscr
      @dynamiscr 2 месяца назад +11

      Dude! I cannot understand how people can be so cochina! Second, it seems like you cannot tell a customer ‘no, you can't return this item in this condition “ why? . Lastly, even with all this, HD makes lots of money every quarter

    • @bobo45BO
      @bobo45BO 2 месяца назад +7

      @dynamiscr it's more of taking care of the customer compared to not being able to tell them no. Many of our vendors will give us credit on some items but not all. I've had store managers who are strict and some who will do anything for the customer.

    • @dynamiscr
      @dynamiscr 2 месяца назад

      @ jeez! I don't know, I understand, but on the other hand, it is tough having to deal with customers like that all the time. If you don't mind, do you know what deals are coming on 11/29? I went to a store yesterday and it was all cover with black plastic bags 🫤

      Eh, huge difference when you try to scale it up and legitimize something like this. There's a reason stuff like hardware repair shops have all shut down. Biggest issue is experience, there's no easy way to learn all the little things and especially electronics without experience which doesn't come easy or cheap unless you're already in an industry where you can mess around. Not to mention parts aren't always easily accessible and getting harder to find, or tools are designed to be not easily repaired, along with technical/electrical details not being easily found a la cellphones/Apple as well. All in all, it's simply not profitable at a larger scale but certainly something you can do as a hobby.

They never took the blame for their crappy quality products.

    The most unbelievable thing about this is the Home Depot website working long enough to find all the prices.
    I want that truck!

    I haven’t watched your channel before finding this series, but I’d say you guys are well within your right to plug all your merch as frequently as you are in this video.
    The audience is already hearing all sorts of brands left and right, they’re getting free advertisement just from you guys examining the differences between as-new packaging versus used, so you might as well put your own brand into the mix.
    In case you guys were wondering if that was getting obnoxious or not.

    We used to do buys like that back in the late '80's. It was trailers full of returned Alltrade tools from Home Depot. Asan example there would be say three pallets of bench grinders that had a single wire in the wrong place. Simple fix. Sell at a swap meets for $20. We made a sh*t ton of cash. Great fun too.

    Paslodes are the lightest cordless framing nailer by far, and fun to shoot. Because of the gas cartridge they don’t like the winter very much and you have to keep buying them. Nothing beats pneumatic for a framing nailer in my opinion.

      Technically, if they sell the stuff, it's part of the profit. Basically, free. I like it.

    I work at Home Depot . This isn’t surprising at all people return half of the lights that came in it they returned stuff out of season like Christmas happen. They return the Christmas lights Halloween. They return after Halloween ended. It’s not surprising at all. They returned stuff after they used it because they only needed it one time.

    Just recently started to watch your channel and I really like what you’re doing and the ideas of cheaper tools but I’m a HVAC technician and I’d like too see videos of cheap flare tools and swedgers as well as the pro press because these videos can help alot of people from buying the cheap stuff and or could also save them a lot of money.

    Used the Paslode a lot. Used to keeping the gas inside my clothes so I could swap them out regularly in the winter cold 😅

    My dad has one of those DeWalt 4.5" saws, they're really nice for sheet goods, and can cut 2x lumber. They handle really well. The blades are more expensive than for a 7-1/4 though.
