Thanks Jeremey. I think the reviews are done for now at least, back to normal regular stuff next! These ran well and will fit in a ton of cars and trucks. For the money it is hard to beat. It is amazing to me I can get a 2s lipo I can run for 20+ minutes for less than I would have paid for a budget nicad pack in the early 90s that would have lasted about 7 or 8 minutes at best!
Sounds like a bargain i had to buy i new battery on friday cost me $139.00 gens ace just don't seem as good as they used to be so I'm more than happy the here about other brands making quality batteries great test mate 👊
Yeah those big packs can get quite pricey for sure. I think it is funny I can buy a 3000mah lipo for less money than we used to pay for the 1500mah NiCad packs back when I was young. Those old nicads were $15-25 back in the late 80's and early 90s. Plus I get 3-4 times the run time out of it!!
Now that is a very good battery, roughly 20-23 min run time, you can not beat that. Lighter than a lot of the other and for less than $13. Now the Dirt Master was really tearing up the track, the drifting in and out of the wide corner look really awesome. Thanks for the information on the Turnigy Batteries, take care and best wishes to you and the family.
It did well in the buggy and it is a compact, light battery that can be used in a lot of kits, the price is nice as well! The Dirt Master was fun but a handle to control out on the track, there were lots of spin-outs that were not shown! It was still a lot of smiles kicking up the dust. Take care Al, have a great week!
It was a fun drive but took a while to use to the slide and not spin out! It is a slick buggy and now that it has a motor again I should get back out with it more!
Thanks Paul, I got this one from Redbubble. If you search for Nostalgia RC on the site you find a pile of the shirts he has, a lot of cool vintage remakes! If you sign up for their emails they run sales quite often and you can save a good bit for waiting for them, usually 15-30% off! I really wish I could get all of the collection into one place but it has grown a bit too large!
For the ability to stick them in all sorts off kits and a great price it is a great deal. Long term I will see how they hold up but it had plenty of punch out there!!
Hey Addam, a nice review of the Turnigy shorty pack, so glad you went with the most versatile battery pack review. A lot of us RC’ers would certainly use 2s a lot more, over a wider range of RC’s than perhaps the large voltage packs, great choice 😊😊best wishes to you and the family 🖐️😉😎
That is what I thought John, not too many of us are running 4, 6 or 8s kits around so find something that would work for a lot of different kits and this worked out well! I may do a 3s version in the future with the Arrma kits but that is as big as I want to go personally. Take care and have a great week!
I haven't tried the batteries but I do have a Turnigy 1/16th nitro buggies and put a 2 speed gearbox it's a ripper and 12yrs later still going strong. I also have a Bixler glider and Stinger 64mm EDF jet for over a decade. So for the people that think HK is cheap yes it is but it has been food to me.
Hi Addam!👩🤠. What a bargain👌. It was a great looking run mate, you pulled some great wheelie's and nice power slide on your track👊. Thanks for sharing another interesting new product review, they're always interesting. Thanks again and take good care Addam👍🦘🇦🇺
I think I may need to loosen up the slipper clutch a tiny bit! Seems to have all the power getting to the wheels! Might help a bit with the sliding and spinning so much. Although that is a lot of fun so i don't want to eliminate it! LOL! The reviews are done for now so back to regular scheduled programing! Take care guys and have a great week!
Thanks Trey! It made me get the motor back in the Dirt Master, I forgot I had "borrowed" it previously! It was a good excuse to get out and run one around for a bit!
Thanks, I like having a couple on hand as I do have a few that only fit a shorty pack and others it just makes it easier to run a lipo in them (Tamiya). I was eyeing the MST drift cars as they were just on sale here recently. I just got a new truck so I passed on them. They have the Redcat RDS drift car kit on sale right now for like $115 so I may pick one of those up to have here to build. Kind of hard to pass up for the price!
I used to run turnigy nano tech ultimate 4600 2s for my race program but they stopped making them for some reason. I've been trying some of the other cheaper brands and they aren't holding up near as well. PLEASE HOBBYKING BRING BACK THE ULTIMATE NANOTECHS!
I have seen the line of them but have not used them. I know for racing you really want something you know works and what you are going to get out of them every time so I am sure it is frustrating not being able to find the ones you want. Hopefully they bring them back in stock again! If I had any pull I would lean on them for you!
Great review Addam, as you say for that sort of money you cant go wrong at all! If only we had deals like that in the UK 😂. Loving seeing the Kyosho again, I'm waiting for the 4WD Dirtcross which I'll hopefully buy at some point. Should be available over here end of September all being well.
Thanks Tony. It is a really nice battery and I think it is amazing I can get a 2s lipo I can run for 20+ minutes for less than I would have paid for a budget nicad pack in the early 90s that would have lasted about 7 or 8 minutes at best! The Dirtcross just showed up here a week ago. Sadly it got bumped out of the queue of things to buy right now. I had just decided to pick up something rather different for me and then it drops here the next day so the fun money was gone. I have a few Tamiya kits I really want coming up so I am not sure if the DM is gonna make the overall cut anytime soon. Kyosho and Tamiya both need to stop announcing kit 11 months in advance. They would sell a lot more if it was only a month as by the time they end up getting here I have kind of gotten over the excitement or like in the this case some thing else to grab my attention away from them.

Yes, especially in the ones with the curve molded into the bottom of the battery tray! they are a handy thing to have, I have one or two kits that require them but they also work great in the ones like the sand scorcher with the battery box that was not designed for large sized batteries.
Oh, I gotta love the sound of the Dirtmaster! Yeah, I do love my shorty pack, I bought one a few years ago and it is without a doubt the battery I grab for most runs, very versatile, especially on Tamiyas, they tend to dictate where you have to install the battery, and it's not always where I want it, he he... Anyway, that looks like an amazing deal, I think I paid something like 50 or 60 for mine... BTW, your link is wrong, it directs to an air fan blower, must have been from your previous video, ha ha!
They can be very handy and fit in a lot more cars than the standard 2s packs. This low profile one will fit in a ton of kits. It is amazing to me I can get a 2s lipo I can run for 20+ minutes for less than I would have paid for a budget nicad pack in the early 90s that would have lasted about 7 or 8 minutes at best! I updated the link, thanks for the heads up on it! Take care my friend!
It looks like a good buy. I was wondering if that battery would work well in a TRX4 or another 1/10 crawler. Your ground level camera shots are great. I think doing donuts might be a fun way to get rid of a few weeds on the track.
It should work fine in something like that and cut down on the weight way up high on the chassis. With the crawlers you don't need the super high mah rating to run for a very long time. I am glad you enjoyed the run footage. I tried to do the donuts on the weeds but it kept hitting clumps and stopped spinning and just launched into the pipe! LOL!
Nice review mate. Im not sure if these are available over here in the UK or not? I do use a lot of those shorty packs though..... Although they won't fit in many of my vintage Tamiyas that were originally designed for rounded nicads! 😂 I have been known to mount them in the front of a CWO1 bathtub before,or even gaffer tape them to the ESC and servo cover casing on an ORV monster truck! The shorty packs can come in handy. I have one or two cars that require them but I have used them in several others. This thinner design adds even more flexibility to what you can use them in. It ran well and is lighter than a normal shorty so would be an edge in some racing! No worries on being a day or two behind, I stay perpetually behind at this point! Just too much stuff to watch and to many other things in life to do! It is all good!!!
Looks like a nice size pack, especially for some older Tamiya designs (such as Buggy Champ, Sand Scorcher and Fighting Buggy), but I have never used that kind of battery, I don’t even know how it would hook up to a charger.
It is perfect for those cars with the sealed compartment designed to the old short packs. There is a little to lean about the lipo batteries but they are much safer than they use to be.
@@AddamsPlayground well, I have some LiPo packs, but they are all Traxxas. The Traxxas batteries are great, but the Traxxas chargers are not. I am in the midst of getting away from Traxxas batteries I have used some NiMH but I don’t have any non-Traxxas LiPos.

I used to be a lot more concerned about the lipos. Now they are so heavily manufactured and common I am not as worried. Turnigy has been making stuff for a very long time so I am sure they are not using the the cheapest materials.
