Holy shit Jake's fingers are blindingly fast! I got to see Jake on the Ultimate Sin tour a couple of times and Badlands a few times too. He is fucking incredible! I was fortunate enough to meet him once in Badlands and he put up with my drunk ass as I was introducing him to people like he was my old friend. (I still wince at my behavior to this day) He is a genuinely cool dude and a bonafide guitar legend.

He and so many others back then could shred the frets right off the guitar. But Ozzy's uncontrolled booze and drugs and Sharon's control and greed screwed over him and many others responsible for Ozzy's success. He only pays tribute to Randy and as great as he was it's a kick in the balls to Jake. I'm glad to have gone through those days and wonder what has happened in the gene pool today because todays musicians for the most part are candy ass pro tool posers. 👍🎸🔊

He is legend in all of Japan and in certain areas of Europe. Carmine warned Sharon about this before the Bark At The Moon tour, but she wanted a no name drummer in the end.
I await youtube in the next 5-10 years. Many people out there have videos that they took at concerts with the good old fashioned portable VCR with camera, or even a camcorder. They also recorded stuff from TV. They have the vcr tapes stuck in a box somewhere in the attic. One day, they will finally get them out, convert them with their computer, and upload them to youtube. We will see tons more concert footage, like this video. AWESOME SHIT!
Rumor is that no one on stage was actually playing onstage except Carmine Appice. Supposedly Carmine played bass, guitar, and drums and everyone else pretended to play in this video. Afterall, who wouldn’t believe Carmine when he said he did these things? I’m a serious note, Carmine was the only musician throughout the career that ever sang some backup vocals. I never noticed that until now. Ironically, that was probably the one thing he didn’t do. Mic was turned off. Lol
I saw Ozzy on this tour *after* Appice was fired & replaced with Tommy Aldridge. Spring of ‘84. I saw Alridge again in ‘88 with Whitesnake. Monster drummer.
Say what you want about Carmine, or whether you preferred Tommy as the drummer, it's all oranges and pears in my opinion. You can't deny that Carmine is a fucking showman though. The people came for a full spectrum show, and they got one.
