    You've done a really excellent job of showing the versatility of the guitar's basic sounds. It sounds good.

    The only thing locking tuners are good for is faster string changes. Otherwise, they don't help your guitar stay in tune better. They don't hurt tunning, but they are not the magical fix many players imagine.

      They absolutely can help keep a guitar in tune better…if people don’t know how to properly wrap the strings on the posts. It’s not a huge thing, but it can definitely help.

    The black one looks the best to me for multiple reasons. If they all have black control cavity covers and black headstock faces, a black pickgaurd on the black one only, makes it the clear winner for me. I'll swap out the chrome knobs for black speed knobs, and the SD Distortion going in the neck position is also black. The only other astetic change will be the Gotoh magnum keystone locking tuners. I'm calling it the DEATHSTAR! A treble bleed curcuit and coilsplit neck pickup with the mojotone capacitor should allow me to dial the volume way down and still retain a nice bright and snappy tone. The 2 wire humbucker I'm putting in the bridge is pretty hot also.

    Thanks for playing so 'clean' most of the time.

    I'm thinking of getting an Element. I've owned many Yamahas, mostly Pacificas and SBGs. I had a Revstar 320, the introductory model, a couple years ago, but I sold it. My issue was the weight and the lack of cutaways which made it feel very blocky. Otherwise, I love this line. The higher end models are great and the new Element seems like a massive improvement over the 320. Another issue I had with the 320 is that the ceramic buckers sounded cold and cheesy. I went through a number of Duncans and DiMarzios before going with a Custom 5/Jazz combo which was great. But the weight and blockyness were still an issue. The best Yamaha I ever owned was an SBG 200, basically a very good SG knockoff with dynamite stock pups. I wish I still had it. I got it from a friend in a trade around '93. The thing was probably built around 1980 or so. If you can track one down, I'd recommend snapping it up. Great ax.

    I dont think I've ever heard anyone play Snowblind or What's On Your Mind on youtube before!
    These guitars are really cool. I just wish the black one had no stripes and a tortoise shell pickguard.

    Can you please suggest if I should get Yamaha RSE blue or Epiphane SG Muse green.
    Im really confused

      If the prices are the same or similar, I personally would go for the Yamaha. I like the pickups more, the build quality is the same, and I like that the Yamaha is a bit more unique. I believe that the quality level is more consistent with the Yamaha than the Epiphone.

    Nice playing,I am in the market for a humbucking guitar,do you prefer the PRS McCarty SE to the Revstar?

    • @EJBGuitar
      @EJBGuitar  Год назад +1

      Thanks! Tough not to like the Revstar at like half the price of the SE. If you’re ok with the looks of the Revstar, it’s a great guitar. My particular Revstar is nice and light too.

      I have the ESP LTD-256 and is a great guitar, but in just a Hobbyist but do know a good tone.
      I am considering one of these Revstars as well. Look really cool design & paint scheme

      @@supercraig2009 Well I ended up buying both and guess what, I still have the Yamaha RSS20 and the LTD Ec1000 was sent back to the shop due to bad QC and honestly it was not worth the money. If you want a nice LP guitar get an FGN Neo Classic LC10 .

    Kind of a silly question.... do you recall where you got the knobs and switch tip? Nothing I have fits this guitar..... did you switch out the pots to put different knobs on?

    • @EJBGuitar
      @EJBGuitar  10 месяцев назад +1

      @ColaGuts - the knobs are just Strat type knobs I had in my parts box that were the same cream color as the pickguard. The switch tip is actually a Gibson style top that I discovered was a tight fit just pushing it onto the switch. Didn’t change the pots. I liked the look because they matched the guard and stripes.
