What do you think? Did I make the right choice? I can't wait for you guys to hear this music. Thanks for your support. And stop doubting me this really is the last guitar I'm gonna buy! I think.
Suuuure... 😆 But when you do get the urge to buy a new guitar, tell yourself that you're only allowed to do so if it coincides with the recording and release of a *full* album. And no cheating by "working on" multiple albums at once!
I recently purchased my very last guitar. A higher end Gibson Les Paul Standard, that was born on my birthday the year I retired. If there is a better guitar out there for me, I'll never find it. Rock on, guys. Thanks for taking us along.
It makes me feel good to hear that someone found an instrument they connect with the way you've connected with your Les Paul Standard. Congratulations on the purchase!
That what it feels like when we buy one and it really goes great. I just bought my last one a couple weeks ago, but I doubt I will live up to my claim. 😎😎
I've owned about 20 Gibson Les Pauls from lowly Studios to VOS R8's. They've all been sold. So let me tell you about a little company called Fujigen...
I'm so pleased you chose the Patrick Eggle Guitar. He's been building quality guitars for many years here in uk. Never seems to get the recognition as the big American makers. his guitars have always been top notch.
I love this video so much. You and Tim just choosing a guitar, and making sure it was the right one that checked every box. So satisfying to watch guys. Nicely done, you picked the right one. 🤘🎸🤘
What an amazing thing to have TP go guitar shopping with you. Of course the collab and the music you’re both incredibly talented and hard working musicians and RUclips channels, but just taking him shopping like you do with your friend that’s such a cool thing to get to do.
The number of guitars you need is always x+1, while x is the number of guitars you already have😁. Congratulations and enjoy your new guitar! Btw Tim is such a likeable and great person.
About 18 years ago, in a project band where I played bass, one of the guitarists had a Patrick Eggle. I played it and it was perhaps the best playing guitar I had ever felt, and I was instantly in love with it. Earlier this year, I went to check out a '93 Patrick Eggle Vienna Pro, wondering if all those years later it would still feel as good. And my oh my, it did! I bought it and it is my 'any style' workhorse!
It's flipping gorgeous and the tones... Oh, man, the tones. It'll have more company in your collection sooner than later. Best of luck with your album release!
Excellent choice. Patrick Eggle makes wonderful, world class instruments, and it is lovely to see one of his getting so much love on such a popular US-based YT channel. Go spank that thang, boys!
Angel City is about a mile from my house, I love that place. They opened about a week before LA went into lock down and still managed to survive and thrive which is a testament to what an amazing job they do.
PJE is the PRS of the UK. Patrick is a great guy too. I met him when he moved to the US for a brief time in NC. He was dabbling in acoustic building in NC. I heard he actually moved to Santa Cruz area to build then moved back to the UK. Now whether that's all true, he builds amazing axes, which is undeniable fact.
He lost full control of his original company (Patrick Eggle Guitars) in the 90's. Then moved to the US and learnt more about acoustic guitar making from James Olsen who is the builder of James Taylor's guitars. When he returned to the UK he redesigned the range of guitars for Faith Guitars. They get excellent reviews and are great value for all solid wood constructed acoustics. Then around 2016 he founded Patrick James Eggle Guitars and since then has been making electric guitars that can rival any maker in the world at the moment. They are just stunning instruments.
You know when Tim picks up a guitar and says WOW right away that he's holding something worth looking into. You guys did awesome with this video. Thanks :)
patrick james eggle is one of the finest luthiers in the uk (my home). a friend has a macon and it is every bit as beautiful as yours. enjoy tyler! welcome to uk built guitars! (do you own any others?)
My favorite part of the video may Tim wandering in the background while you're shredding it, lovingly looking at other guitars...both of you have such a passion and it's so much fun to watch
Just watching you and Tim arriving at this guitar was worth it. Tim is such a great dude, and an amazing guitarist, plus he likes his set up exactly like i do. Chef's kiss!🤘💯
One of my favorite episodes; You and Tim exploring the definition of "feel" and how personal it truly is. Cool how you both landed on the same choice...
Wow! what a beauty!. I have an awesome story! My wife asked me what I wanted for my Birthday... thought about it and go, "a new guitar".?!!?. So a couple weeks pass and I am watching this guitar company Called BreedLove, never heard of em. I am an Ibanez guy true and through. SO I watch the story behind the guy who bought the company and changed the whole format of it in making sure that all the wood was counted for, not clear cut and sustainability was the key factor here. Pretty Awesome I say! So the tour was watching this guitar come to life in the hand made build process. the at the end of the shop the lady was introducing the African Mahogany Acoustic concert guitar being built. The new coating that it was getting was called Black Gold, and the guitar when built will be called the Rainforest. an S Concert Black Gold CE. So my wife asked me to take a look at the local guitar shop with her as to let her know what I was looking for etc... I walked in the Acoustic Room turn left and right over me … there she was! the Rainforest! I took it off the wall and strummed it... within a second I say, this is the one! I DID NOT LOOK AT OR PLAY ANOTHER GUITAR IN THERE. Another week passed and I kind of forgot about it, or in the back of my mind etc... I'm in the living room chillin after dinner and I was wondering where everyone was... hmmmmmm, well anyway, In walks my daughter with a birthday card, and inside was a black and gold guitar pic. Then right after in walks my wife with a guitar gig bag on her back. I was like, nooooooooooo wayyyyyyyyyy!, you didn't! did you?! nooooooooooo you didn't. I open it up and there it was... The Rainforest Guitar. Best surprise of my life!
Quick clarification, people confuse grain pattern with figure… flame figure in maple wood runs sideways or perpendicular to the lengthwise woodgrain & creates a “peaks and valleys“ effect, which is three-dimensional and appears to change and waver as the viewing angle moves, a bit like actual flames. This visual movement is sometimes described as chatoyancy. ‘Cat-eye’ effect. Other types of wood figuring like ribbon curl, pinstripe, and quilted Maple feature some “movement.” All maple has wood grain, but it is more rare for hard maple to have figuring as well.
Wow! That was a fun peek behind the curtain. Smiles all around, and that Cathederal was magnificent. I can see why God would want to hang out there. Great vlog. Never have the words Parakeet-knapping ever come to mind but I would think a cool mascot like that would inspire my inner Pirate-Rock sensibilities. You both are dangerous on guitar and I dug it all to the legal limit, maybe a hair past. Looking forward to the next installment!!! Best to you and keep delivering the Rock!!!
I'm always happy to see Tim in a video, its an instant like. I'm also always happy to hear Tim on a track, its an instant buy. So 3 good choices today my friend.
What a SUPER COOL VIDEO! You and Tim are two or my most favorite players. Can’t wait to hear the record and the guitar is SPECTACULAR!! That top is killer!
I feel that you made the right choice for what you were looking for, the sound of that guitar is big and every note is balanced and consistent in a better way than the others, The Shabat and Fano are cool too...what a cool guy is Tim
I've owned 25+ quality guitars, Gibson, Fender, PRS, Gretsch, Ibanez, Yamaha, Crimson, Mike Lipe and so on. I bought a Patrick James Eggle Drop Top 96 earlier this year and it is hands down the best guitar I've ever played. Chris Buck pretty much said his PJE Macon was the best "Les Paul" he has ever played. High praise from a player who has played some 50's & 60's Gibsons. I have a Macon build on order due September / October. I can't wait. Patrick James Eggle guitars are stunning, flawless builds using the very best woods and hardware available. While very expensive, they are great value compared to a Gibson Murphy Lab, Collings, PRS Private Stock or Nik Huber. Guitarist magazine reviews have been 10/10 and that is pretty rare.
Beautiful guitar. Loved the sound comparisons. I agree that some of the “twangy” sounding guitars are great for that sound but lack the richness of the one you bought. Love it🎉🎉🎉🎉
Them Patrick Eggles are incredible! And what's even nicer is they're actually from this side of pond!!! Seriously though had the pleasure of one in a local shop and took every bit of will power to not put meself in debt for it. You done incredibly well there sir :) You guys have got some mega geetar shops over there, one day the UK will catch up proper like ;)
Great choice, though all of the guitars you showed sounded awesome. And jeepers, you two both shred and play so beautifully and with great tone and feel. I wish I liked practicing and playing more so I could one day reach 1/10 your level!
I too recently purchased my last guitar. A full custom build from a local builder. Ment to eminate the Jem that I loved as a kid but also look like a tricked out version of my first ibanez I bought when I was 15. Thanks for getting me back into my instrument man 🙏
That's a real beautiful guitar, I think the right choice was made! You could tell this was "the one". Plus I love how Tim lit up on several occasions just playing it, holding it, talking about it. It's the guitar nerd that boils to the top when you are holding a beautiful instrument. Love it, congrats.
Of course this is an excellent choice. I cannot justify how it feels, but what I heard and saw from you guys there is no doubt about it. Two weeks ago I‘ve got a Patrick James Eggle as well. I can‘t stop playing it - such an inspiring instrument.
8:04 - Is there something on this? From the sound and look of that guitar, yes, sweet honey butter sugar sauce. What a gorgeous guitar and great playing/video by two of the best on here. 🎸🤘🏼
A student of mine has three s style Eggle’s and they are absolutely fantastic. He has many PRS, Shabat, Custom Fender’s and always goes to the Eggle. Very well made instruments indeed imo.
My Eggle Drop Top 96 is so goid I've been selling my Gibson, Fender and PRS models. I have a Macon on order. With a Drop Top 96 (HSS) and a Macon I'm not sure I'll ever need to buy another electric guitar.
I remember spending several hours pestering Patrick on his stand at the London Guitar show back in the day... I was learning to be a luthier at the time and his influence was good. He fitted treble bleed circuits as standard and the attention to detail was humbling. His guitars were droolworthy from the word "go". No need for ready or steady. Great choice.
Patrick James Eggle makes wonderful guitars and the Macon is the tops, for me. The only similar guitar that I would put above it is a Nik Huber 59 Orca.
Hey man I just wanna say that you are awesome and you are my favorite guitar RUclipsr and favorite RUclipsr overall. And you truly inspire me to get better at the guitar.
Absolutely loved your "jam" session to weed out a most supreme choice. This particular guitar has the cleanest sound I've heard and beautiful as well. Best video you've done yet. Good luck topping this!
What do you think? Did I make the right choice? I can't wait for you guys to hear this music. Thanks for your support. And stop doubting me this really is the last guitar I'm gonna buy! I think.
Don't Commit to Anything👍🏼👍🏼
Suuuure... 😆 But when you do get the urge to buy a new guitar, tell yourself that you're only allowed to do so if it coincides with the recording and release of a *full* album. And no cheating by "working on" multiple albums at once!
The tiger’s eye gem looks, sounds and feels like…~magic~
Looking at the wall at 1:56 that is the guitar that caught my eye too. Good choice.
Patrick Eggle Macon carved top in Tobacco Burst?
I think you ABSOLUTELY made the right choice! I think it’s the best sounding guitar you played!
@@rylieriley Thanks, Friend!
It’s crazy how many guitars people have,I have only played 12 basses and own one for the two years I have been playing
That what it feels like when we buy one and it really goes great. I just bought my last one a couple weeks ago, but I doubt I will live up to my claim. 😎😎

Tim is such a great voice in the guitar world.
Always love Tim's smile 😁 He's gotta be the happiest working musician on the planet!
No, it’s better to have real guitar solo faces where the players look like they are struggling with a terrifying; giant slug.
@@j_freed...or is constipated and hemorrhoid pain.
He keeps his demons locked in the basement.
I know Tim very well. He puts on that smile for videos and pictures, but deep down, he is a sad, miserable, angry man.

I'm so pleased you chose the Patrick Eggle Guitar. He's been building quality guitars for many years here in uk. Never seems to get the recognition as the big American makers. his guitars have always been top notch.
I’ve been to a few fairs in the UK where they have had stands. They make beautiful guitars
TIM PIERCE is Pure Class and Humbleness combined with incredible TALENT! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
We all know that not true 😂
It is true. With 1.68M Subscribers we buy his guitars for him.

Please Tyler, do not lie to yourself..... But that is such a beautiful and clean model for sure!
Enjoyed that more than I thought I would - great to see you and Tim just cruising through different guitars, sounds and feel etc
Me too. I loved this video
Love what you do, and looking very forward to the release! Whole songs.... played without interruption or concern for copyright!!!
That is a most stunning guitar, sir. Congrats to you!! Freaking Sweet!
That guitar is stunning, and Tim was right - that lower output and overall warmth just make it sound buttery smooth ❤️
They were all top tier guitars, just depends on your style and ear. But that LP style and Jazzmaster were special.
When Tim shares his wisdom it’s best to heed it! Outstanding!
That top alone makes it the right one. What a beautiful guitar. It also sounds amazing. Can’t wait to hear the music.
That guitar is beautiful and has a killer tone! Sheesh! Congrats man 🎸🤘🏼
Alright, first Rhett, now you... I feel like its become my dream to go guitar shopping with Tim Pierce now.
Patrick James Eggle, the guy behind Faith acoustic guitars I believe. I have one, it plays like an electric. Love it!

Stunning, and to have Tim there helping, or enabling, was pretty amazing. Good for you.
That Shabbat sounded amazing. great sustain and great all around sound. When Tim was playing with the vibrato... that was heaven!
That smile says it all, he just melted.
Yeah, that was actually the one that i gravitated towards as well.
It would be my second choice. But I'd take the PJE Macon as #1.
I never knew Tim was so accomplished! Now thats a man to look up to! Happily subscribed to both of you two 😊
I loved that Jazzmaster, but you selected, by far, the most versatile of the bunch...it is a looker, too.
Beautiful deep flame and a great variety of tones. You’ve got a sure fire winner there.👍👍👍🎸🎸🎸
Absolutely beautiful guitar! That top is unreal and the tone was much more usable than the others that you tried. Excellent choice.
One of my favorite episodes; You and Tim exploring the definition of "feel" and how personal it truly is. Cool how you both landed on the same choice...

Nice collab and that you were both confident about the best one. Loved it
that top really is amazing. i LOVE when the flames aren't so uniform and pinstriped.
That “tele” and “jazz master/Jaguar thing” had probably the most unique sounds I thought those were killer
Lovely guitar. I live in Kettering UK and I heard we have a guy making shoe lasts who used to make Patrick Eggle guitars. Excellent choice.
Those shadow and highlight lines on that beautiful guitar is called Chatoyancy. It is grain patterns on wood catching light.

That top is stunning. I am all about it. Sounds like butter. Great choice. Looking forward to hearing what you do with it.
Keep being the monster players you both are, and have a great day gentleman.
It has now become a thing where a new album in the making gets a new instrument to commemorate it!
Hands down my favorite upload of yours, Tyler! Thanks for this!!!! Both of my favorite Tubers in one vid 🤘🏼
Yeah sure.... Last guitar... huh
I love watching Tim play. He always looks so happy
The next video: I bought every guitar at guitar centre 😂
Already own a Macon Single Cut and it is glorious. Great choice.
It's stunning in so many ways! Congratulations brother...
The 10 seconds of Tim's guitar part we heard at the end was all the trailer I need for the "making of" video.

Great video. It reminded me of the golden age of YT guitar videos from 2017ish.
Of course this is an excellent choice. I cannot justify how it feels, but what I heard and saw from you guys there is no doubt about it. Two weeks ago I‘ve got a Patrick James Eggle as well. I can‘t stop playing it - such an inspiring instrument.
Thanks for trying it out!🔥🔥🔥
You all have some very nice guitars. I would have been torn between your beautiful blue KZ one and the Eggle.
That has to be one of the most beautiful les Paul guitars ever! Absolutely beautiful!
I really love that top!! That flame is sick!!
