Great video. Came across it while while i sit here waiting for my pro model Revstar to be delivered. Great to see a demo of someone playing something a little heavier than most other videos on this guitar.
I've only played a standard in store and instantly loved it. The extra chug from the focus switch is what sealed the deal. Think these are underrated for playing heavier stuff.

I recently tried the Element and was blown away. I am a Schecter player and love Lundgrens and Fluence in my 24 fret metal machines. However I just loved the Yamaha. I loved it so much that I went back to the shop that has to try it again. I am curious about the Standard and thank you for the comparison. But to be honest I am drawn to the cheaper Element and I love the dry switch engaged. To me it sounds thicker and more focused on. I kinda want one \m/ It is a little perplexing as it is typically not my bag but it just sounds amazing even for metal.😂

Absolutely love the Revstars. A modern classic that for sure will be legendary in the future! I've never played one of the RSE models, but I used to own a RS620 (which I regret selling). The RSS20 I have now is just perfect in every way, although I wish it also had the brushed hardware and wraparound bridge (I know, I'm crazy). The pickups are some of the best allround humbuckers I've come across. Works for everything from cleans, to classic rock, to some modern rock/metal. I'm not a huge fan of positions 2 and 4 on the 5-way selector, and the push-pull boost only makes the guitar sound muddy (the Dry-Switch on the old models were more useful IMO).

Do yourself a favor and dont get one with a bigsby bridge, that shit is a beach to tune and is very unstable
