Love the music choice this time! Greetings from spain... Couldn't resist watching your video even in my holidays...
Thanks mate, glad you enjoy them.
Awesome job balancing Jeff!
Thanks mate. I did the best I could with what I have.
Home Built By Jeff yeah when I pressed my wrist pins out, I marred them. So you totally did the right thing. Getting close!!
Analness is next to godliness.
another great video, admire your attention to detail and getting things right on the engine
Engine build is the juiciest bit!
I love it.
Episode after episode, I only have one question. How on earth did Jeff manage to find someone like Ms. Jeff? I'm not jelous or anything, but my goodness she's a lovely and has the patience of a saint!
i'd be jealous if i were you too
Did the AFP come knocking when you ordered a gram scale online?
"Zanzibar" is a early 70's song by Earth, Wind & Fire with lots of trumpets just like your Z
Eliza, My Fairlady
Hey Jeff could you plz make an enjine rebuild time laps love the videos
I have the quick version of this video on FB, but I might do a compilation of the entire engine build when I am done.
The weight should be taken from the inside of the piston. The bottom end of the rod assembly basically goes round and around in a circular orbit but its rotational speed is constant. The pistons go up and down, accelerating and stoping at each end of the stroke so the loads on the piston are greater and the unbalanced loads are greater if the pistons are out of balance.
Great video today!
10:55 I thought: "that's a handy bench sander", then immediately realised...
But hey, if it works, it works!
A good bench sander is on my list of things I need ;)
Call it Bruce :)
A good name for the Z would be Petite Belle Dame (Little FairLady)
The shop I used to sweep and clean as a 14 yr old, did alot of chevys, 327s 350s, 396s, they were really bad from the factory. People would buy new S.S. cars and drive directly to the shop to have the new engine balanced. Those went bad on the Datsun esp that year.
The Datsun Fairsheila
Love it in the town where I was born (Liverpool) my hero John Lennon
Since the Beetle is called John Lemon, the Porsche should be called Elvis. The best restomod Porsches are called "Singer", and yours, well... Yours is better, it is The King!
Haha, mine is a long way off a Singer, but I like the thought
In my heart, it isn't. Singer is a company with a professional staff that are completely dedicated to building those cars. You are a one man team, a jack of all trades, doing all this on his free time, and sharing it with all of us. Long live the King! =)

Hi Jeff , If your L28 came out of a automatic car ,the engine balance was not good as the torque converter worked as a
fluid damper . Please Please Please get all the rest of your reciprocating mass Professionally Balanced. On 6cyl engines
they don't need the weight of your pistons , rods etc as long as they are the same. It's not worth the risk
My harmonic balancer would come loose and has fallen off before i balanced my engine
The engine was in a manual previously, and it is way better than it ever was. Most engines are way out of balance from the factory, so I am happy with what I have now.
got to be Zebedee from the magic roundabout (UK kids programme)
Name the z mizztress as she is your mistress lol I'm sure Mrs Jeff would agree
Are you then going to balance the crank and flywheel? If not it seems a waste of time balancing the pistons. This is not a race car, s it does not really matter..
What year is your zed mate?
1971
Same year i got home built by mum:)
L28 no 240z?
The car is a 1971 240z, and the L24 has been replaced with an L28. Still a 240z though.
Devorah the Datsun ....or maybe Datty McDatsunface.....Bathurst was great in the old days with production cars
ZED Kelly
Nice.
the dachshund? It will make it more German. that's a tough one to name, all the good/obvious names have are taken.
Name the Z Ox-zed-ised
Excellent! That is the front runner for sure.
Call it "240 Phil" as in you almost put 240 layers of fill on it ;)
also as in phil collins
Datsun FairDinkum
Zedly.
I like that one.
Cheers, you may get some inspiration from this. ruclips.net/video/Lino8QPExwo/видео.html
Mister Z
Jet Z....
That's MRZ to you.
