Kev is still the master of talking at the wrong time
Tell me about it….. sometimes just listen
Fr the man was on a roll and keep cutting in ugh
Seriously man, can't stand people who do that
Nah that award no doubt goes to Fat Joe
This is the first interview I've seen of his but I already see what ur sayin 😆
It never ceases to amaze me how smart and talented Technique is
I’m born and raised in NYC. I looked up to him since I was 8. Made me the man I am today.
Ya, well travelled man and has his eyes open
mans been rapping facts for years
can he play an instrument?
Lol... weird comment.
Immortal Technique is the most under rated artist out there. He be spitting Gems
uh no
True facts
Too bad he's so difficult to deal with within the music industry and that's why he STILL haven't dropped the Middle Passage and why Viper Records finally dropped his ass lol
He is a dope rapper for sure, but I stopped listening to him and don't like the fact that he embraces communist ideology.
Yo to have a woman like that is way more precious, valuable than gold! I hope that couple is doing good. Thank you Tech
I'm sure Kev has another job or deep involvement that feeds him. Kev is a s*** interviewer in all sense of the word, but manages to get some of the greatest guests! Lol. Immortal Technique is LEGIT, but I hated seeing him in this interview. Kev is only a half step above VladTV, but gets to sit and talk to/interrupt people we don't get to hear from enough. Thanks Immortal Technique for still appearing and dropping jewels.
Yo I was homeless on and off when I was 19-23. Being surrounded by addicts and people who will steal from you when you sleep changes you.
Couldn’t have said it any better
How would you say you changed? I ask cos I haven’t been there before
I was also homeless and an addict for several years in my early 20s. I legit couldn't sleep until I knew I was safe and wasn't going to get robbed while asleep. So I would end up staying up for weeks on end on meth without showering in the middle of the summer heat. I once went over 3 days without any kind of food or water I don't know how I didn't get heatstroke. It definitely does change you to feel that level of insecurity and just never feeling safe ever. I do everything I can these days to prevent myself from ending up in that situation again...
Word 3 years for me
I might have been one of those guys that stole your sneakers or ramen noodles. My bad, I'm different now.
That was a heavy story by immortal. One of the most releast things I heard was Mike Tyson say is "I talk to the biggest toughest mother fucker the same way I talk the skinniest puniest person". Never listened to Immortal rap music 🎶 was always a cormega head but in my high-school in 2005 he was really popular. Good to hear him as a person. Very smart dude
If you've talked to enough homeless people you start to realize damn near anyone could become homeless if life kicks them hard enough.
Literally dont even have to kick you you trip and stumble one to many times and your gonna fall
Yeah you do have to talk to a lot of homeless people before you find the ones who are just regular people down on their luck. Most are mentally ill or value the freedom to do drugs more than they value having a home. Some of them are legit and cool as hell no matter what brought them to that point but a lot are grimy and would do you dirty in a heartbeat.
Luckily I have a family and work
EXACTLY
this can happen to any of us so to see any sort of aid to the homeless, or that people "could live off that life" . We gotta collectively punch up, not down.
We got a lot of problems in Chicago BUT our homeless are solid. They have shifts, work the corner, never been chased.
Done it myself, Find a spot to sleep then go work... actually a pretty great feeling,, Happiest bloke on the job!!
Tech is a crazy story teller
I wonder why his music is good
@@bugs8054 because its thought provoking
Dude dropped some gems on this one, needed to hear this… ❤
This is one of the realist interviews ever.
You never know how things can fall apart. An injury, a layoff, and you’re in the street.
Always love hearing Immortal Techniques perspective
Immortal technique. Truly one of the greatest yet under appreciated rappers out there🦾🐐🔥🔥
Don’t get jumped by 50 Edgar’s at knotts berry farm 😭😂
5:50 i got u fam
What's a edgar
So they arguing about who had the worst homeless problem this world sucks 😭
i think it's interesting that it seems almost natural that ppl.. humanity always has to look to compare things.. just always seems that way. And actually i think it's true and raw when we can talk about the more dark elements of society even if it feels wrong. No doubt it's a tough world but it rly always has been.
Lol not even the ancient Aztec let people be homeless they made them work even if they mentally sick they would check and make them work but nowadays men to effeminate
So much respect.
Heavy Gratitude for sharing.
Ps The movie Demolition Man was pretty accurate.
big time throwback by mentioning the mole people in the freedom tunnel. There was an other doc called Dark Days about that situation.
What a dope story
" he got a gun in that purse". Lol I know he wasn't trying to be funny but that had me dying.
I remember watching the mole man documentary might’ve been one that was similar about the NYC homeless that live in the underground train system & sewer systems, literally people ranging from 17 years old to 60+ years old, it’s wild
Yo tech need a podcast
Dude is a great story teller and a deep thinker.
I was just back home in L.A., from Japan, after a 3-1/2 year absence. My city was WEIRD, it was straight up weird. L.A.’s ALWAYS been weird AF, but nahh, this was a whole other level. In my first 48 hours I had 3 random encounters with crazy men. One of whom I saw on a bus and I got off, did my thing at a bank, then got back on the same bus but going the opposite way. He was still on and saw me and followed me to the DMV and circled me muttering to himself, getting closer and closer and faster and faster, looking at me here and there as he was picking up stuff off the ground and tossing it around. I literally walked past a LONG line of people who didn’t want to be in line at the DMV and made a bee line to the big black lady in the security outfit whom he would have NO part of. But he followed me up to the entrance and she kept moving me around, stand here, stand there, whilst barking orders at everyone else who came up to her. Dude, when my Uber driver pulled up I did the Starskey and Hutch butt-slide across the trunk of his car and got in on the driver’s rear side like, “GO! GO! GO!” He tore out from the DMV parking lot like Jason Bourne escaping from the police, no joke. He, an old school barrio vato, told me story after story about people just like me. He’s like, “I cant believe I’m saying this but we need an authoritarian to take over L.A., really! I wish I could have videotaped you just now because I would show the mayor that, you should see yourself right now.”
Good story right here.
From another LA native to another…it’s everywhere dude…except apparently Japan 😅
Immortal Technique is definitely a 🐐
I remember watching a documentary from HBO called Dark Days about the people living underground in New York City in the 90s. Maybe I'm confusing it with the Mole Men movie Immortal Technique is talking about. But I know I can't find the documentary from HBO anywhere anymore.
It's on tubi
Props to Immortal For bringing up the mole men of new york
Damn this was deep as hell ya I’m about to watch this entire ep Tech is the man
This was a nice pop up
Came out of nowhere yo I wasn’t expecting it but I’m glad it happened
Dance With the Devil is still the best flow I've heard in rap.
😂😂😂 do NOT fuck with the Edgars fareallll!!!
Don’t get jumped by 50 Edgars 😂
@@fuziontonygaming lmaoooo REAL SHIT THO 😂
LA has it the worst right now for sure..you could be in the nicest area and two blocks away have a tent community of homeless drug addicts and ALOT of them are dangerous.
God damn legend
Facts
Much love and peace
Bootleg Kev lowkey getting very good interviews with people. ps - I agree with Lamar that the gorilla is rascist
There's a documentary called Dark Days from 2000 about the people that live in the tunnels. Music by DJ Shadow on it!
Definitely a legend over here homie
I agree
LA has the underground city’s to I’ve seen them one of the entrances is on meyers st train tracks these foos literally grow their own crops I saw tomato plants, strawberries and children running around and shit crazy world
Main issues are gentrification which makes it unaffordable, then drug industry and drug addiction but first and far most people can't afford 4 thousand dollars a month, unless you have rich family helping
They profit off the drugs even if they’re advertising their damage control and it basically takes control of the homeless where they’re caught in a cycle unfortunately.
It's a amazing ride until you realise you can't get off and didn't foresee where the destination ends
Oh please there was poor people before gentrification 😂
Get two jobs like the republicans say and like immigrants do or you can wait for Democrats to help you 😂
Move tf out of New York lmao
I.T.s storytelling ability never ceases to amaze me.
Yooooooo the freedom tunnels.
I almost got killed down there, some crazy homeless dude chased us with a machete!!!
Ending up broke isn't your fault. Staying broke is. I'm a professional plumber and I never thought I'd make the money I make coming from where I came from. It still baffles me to think that people look down at me as someone who helps to keep the residential infrastructure intact. This fulfilled my life so much because like tech said, I didn't have a plan. The trade made me understand the importance of having a plan. I been homeless and I've prospered. I'm grateful to God for both of these.
San Francisco's homeless population is pretty bad as well right now & it's continuing to grow. Sad to say & unfortunately true
Literally all of cali not just the bay in the valley we get all the tweakers from LA ,SF, SD ,SANTA CRUZ ….now it’s just the locals becoming homeless
@@pistoleros8774 Sheesh!!!!
@@pistoleros8774 Bro Santa Cruz is grimy with homeless right now. I didn’t know they were exporting them too lol
That movie that immortal technique references is really good btw
With LA having good weather, people from all over the nation come to So Cali to and live on the streets.
Straight 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Homeless in Canada sleeping in my car with snow and minus temperature work ain't paying much car needs repairs orphan no one to help yeah this shiit a problem folks
Get two jobs I have 3 and a good apartment and a nice car and a wife and a newborn
@@just_a5.7 ppl work and still be homeless I work at the airport have a decent job. Thing is can't rent no where since they demand good credit.. then ask damage deposit ... andmost places don't take dogs even service dogs ppl don't respect your rights. So yeah ain't always about working .. sometimes life just a b*tch
I think there was a film about these underground NY homeless called Dark Days. Not sure if I ever saw it but think it had a DJ Shadow soundtrack.
🤣🤣🤣the Edgar’s☠️
Immortal tech is a great human being ...and a great MC.....

I lived in LA from 1986 - 2010 and visited recently. I purposely stayed in my little bubble bc I saw the news and videos. I love LA and it's a shame what it turned into. Didn't want to see any of that. Call it turning a blind eye but I didn't want to leave with my good memories of it disrupted. LA ppl are some of the realest mf's I've ever known. To me that hasn't changed
The book, "Disco's out, Murder's in" chronicles some of the violence in LA around the time you were there in the 80s. Murders were a lot more common than they are now.
Great point
Immortal having profound thoughts at a young age, man saw a homeless man happier and more prosperous than him while immortal is sitting there smoking crack realising his life was worse off than the man living underground, immortal technique is great man
Smoking Ls isn’t crack
@@770MASTER I’m not from NY so I don’t know the slang, just going off of everything I can find online about the word, maybe it meant that back then idk about now tbh but yeah you probably know better than me bc I’m not from NY

I'm a born and bred NY'er who's spent a lot of time in LA over the last 4 or 5 years. NYC has nothing on LA when it comes to homelessness or at least how they interact with the other citizens. The tent cities in Venice, under the highway near Beachwood Canyon, etc. The ish the real. They're all over L.A.'s subways too. And L.A.'s homeless are angry and 'bout that action. I've also found that L.A.'s homeless tend to be more angry and aggressive than NY's. I found this to be especially true when I'd scoot from Beachwood Canyon over to the CVS on Hollywood Blvd. If you know NYC's drug addicted homeless on 125th and Lexington, L.A.'s homeless are like that across the board! Even Santa Monica is overrun with some real aggressive ones. My homeboy who lives in LA hypothesized that it might be because of the drugs they're on in LA. I can't say, but there is a difference.
So many corporations took PPE that didn't need it. They are not having problems having the loans forgiven. Even though they can pay it back. It's small business owners being screwed by their banks .
People will never understand Penn station, Journal square or times Square in the summer during a Full moon unless u r from the tri-state area. Just a weekday subway ride u will see things u couldn't imagine
IT is always in deep thought when he needs to be.
Thank God for RUclips shorts
freedom tunnel is sick one time i was in there and there was a dead racoon on the track. someone had tagged it.
Real talk
Tech following foosgonewild made my year
These comments are corny. No one was arguing about whose city was more poor. Actually no one was arguing about anything.
what a story.
That’s real, gotta have a plan man, ain’t about the present but the future, cuz in the grand scheme of things the future is the present
Not taking advantage of opportunities leaves ppl homeless
4:38 🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏
Devil ray hat go dumb hard
I hate people like Kev who bash LA. If you don't like it. Leave! No one is forcing you to live in LA.
I used to love IT but grown up I notice he can never take someones perspective and thinks about it. He always refutes something and makes it personal by going into a story that has nothing to do with the point. I go back and forward from NY and CA every month. The homelessness is california is beyond crazy. NY is nothing compared to it there are colonies off the highways random ppl walk down our highways at all hours.
Seriously. I see it everyday here in California. Homeless crazy people and tent cities everywhere now. It seems it starting to become the most violent city in LA to.
Same. Tech drops knowledge but there’s some kind of narcissism going on where he’s not so much listening as he is waiting to launch another story. Not saying it makes him unlistenable because he does have great stories about humanity, but it does wear thin after a while.
And just the geography of NY vs LA make it so that there is a big disparity in the amount of homeless people. LA is warm year round basically. People go to LA to be homeless, from all across the USA
NY is covered in snow 4-5 months a year, I’m from NY state. It’s way harder to live outside here. Ever heard of people going to NY to be homeless? No
Def has that elitist New York attitude . Proud of the grime
I never got the "warm all year round" thing. Sunny? Sure. Little rain? Sure. But its cold at night... All year round
Once I set my mind to it. And humbled myself. It took less then two months. For me to get it together. A job, a place to stay. All the channels are there. Most people just want a instant fix. Without doing the hard stuff.
Az tap in
There might be a gun in their purse 😂😂😂

Treat people how you’d like to be treated .
Unless they want to fuck around ……
Damn my man humble af...
If you and your wife got a job and you're still homeless you might want to try leaving New York

I'm not on IG...has he fallen from his "Dance with the Devil" days?

Homelessness way, way easier in regions like west coast and down south, compared to states like New York, Philly, Minnesota, etc; this cold weather is DIFFERENT
Homeless people are scary it's either the goblins that ambush women and for them to buy stuff at 711 or people almost on your mental level that shows you can fall easy too

I hate when interviewers talk over the people they are interviewing.
When the Mole Peoples Tunnels got flooded it caused 30$ worth of damage.
