You’ll never be able to review (or even listen to) the best Acid Bath songs on RUclips. Rotten Ron from Rotten Records makes it his life’s work to remove all Acid Bath material from RUclips.
It’s sad, really, because they’re one of the greatest, most underrated bands of all time...and Dax is a phenomenal vocalist/song writer, whether it be Acid Bath, Agents Of Oblivion, Deadboy And The Elephantmen, or his solo stuff...the guy is just an endless battery of creativity.
Do yourselves a favor, buy and listen to these albums!

    • @timreigns6099
      @timreigns6099 5 лет назад +6

Tyrone Slyce , Acid Bath is the label’s cash cow. It’s not Acid Bath themselves blocking their material, it’s the record label. They got into a shitty deal with Rotten Records and never got out. After their bass player (Audie) died in a car accident, they didn’t want to go on as Acid Bath, but had to do one more album to fulfill their contract with Rotten Records...that’s how the Agents Of Oblivion album was born. Three amazing albums, and Rotten Ron still owns the material. The guys from those bands have been getting screwed over for years.

Acid bath were a band to not try and pick apart. The were quite chaotic and it really was just about the craziness of their music. Jimmy kyle the drummer was cousins to an old friend of mine and both from my home town crestview fl. They were more of a local band known all over northern Florida. They never made it to a big label. They were huge at all the schools and all the highschool metal heads were into them back home. They practiced there at times and and known personally. That was also 25 years ago.

Now that im older my elitism has evolved. haha. A truelly underground band. I wont say underrated because anyone deep into metal holds them in high regard. Tragically, after the bass player died in a car accident the band split up. Sammy, the guitarist went on to form Goatwhore who have been strong since. Dax, the singer has done a few solo things. I am pleasantly surprised with this one. Thumbs up for your willingness to venture this far into the dark. I like how you watch the whole video before saying a word. Your faces spoke volumes. This is a lot to take in the first time. Acid Bath is criminally underrated; responsible for two of the best metal albums of all time. 'Dead Girl' is one of the top five songs ever written and performed. One of the best bands you've never heard of, not counting the relatively small group of extremely dedicated fans.

Scrolling thru couldn't believe this one. So few people know these guys. I listened to them back then and met the lead singer after a deadboy show in 03. This guy has always been my favorite vocalist.

I saw YOB with Voivod and Amenra. Voivod kicked ass and the doom bands were.. ethereal, to say the least. I only ever recommend that song to them and will continue until they react to it. lol

I didn’t discover them until 2006, a buddy of mine came to our school with about 10 burned copies of “when the kite string pops” and gave it to everyone in our group. I listened on my way home (in school bus with CD player) and have been hopelessly addicted since

Even though there is a chance of this getting flagged, im glad you guys reacted to this. I’m actually from around the area in Louisiana where they were from. And i feel like this band was and is a sludge metal monument.

I grew up with the guitarist Sammy Duet. He's originally from Cutoff, Louisiana, but moved to Thibodaux, Louisiana, when he was in this band. His other band Goatwhore is phenomenal as well. I love Acid Bath. I miss them. Dax Riggs is an incredible lyricist and vocalist. R.I.P. Audie Pitre.

Acid Bath is one of my all time favorite bands. You should do dope fiend or scream of the butterfly. You'll appreciate thoes at the very least. And lyric wise, they tend to be super over the top and dark.

I think y'all are reading into the song too much. I thinks it's pretty much an angry song for drunk teenagers that are mad at authority to mosh to. I think Acid Bath definitely has some songs that are more well developed in terms of lyrics, but this one is definitely just meant to dump a lot of negative feelings in a way that's not particularly destructive. I think small towns in the south lead to a lot of boredom and the poverty and corruption there tends to create hopelessness and resentment for the people in charge. To me Acid Bath is the voice of teenagers and young people from those communities that just want to fuck shit up

I ran across "When the Kite String Pops" way back in the 90's in the metal section of my local record in Indiana and bought it instantly just because of the picture of Pogo the Clown aka John Wayne Gacy. Soon as I put the cassette in my tape deck and "the blue" started, I was hooked, that tape didn't come out of my stereo for literally months. I have had multiple copies over the years and still buy a new one anytime I see one for sale. One of the very best bands ever and so criminally underrated. I hear everyone but Dax is on board for a reunion, and Jimmy and Mike have already played a couple of tribute shows where they jammed a few Acid Bath songs. And from the interview I read Sammy said he really wanted to be there too but he was in like Europe or something with Goatwhore

Acid bath ended after a car accident that killed the bass player Audie Pitre and his parents when a drunk driver ran a stop sign, I've been listening to Acid Bath and Dax Riggs since around 98 their music means a lot to me and many other people.
One of the most underrated bands ever yet very influential who knows how big they may have been probably huge, but I'll always be grateful for what they were able to make, listen to
When The Kite String Pops Paegan Terrorism Tactics and Dax's solo stuff

Acid Bath is Louisiana Sludge at it's best.
Top 3 albums of all time. I was waiting or this.
Mothers Milk to a mid 90s metal head.
Now listen to Lead singer Dax Riggs solo stuff. Either under his Agents of Oblivion, Dead Boy and the Elephantmen or under his name. You will be surprised.
