I love how people criticize hard plastic on the interior. What do you want? Varnished wood? Carbon fiber? Brushed aluminum? Its supposed to be the best it can be while being cheap. Hard plastic does that.
How can you say gauges look 10 years old? Lmfao. and no glove box has "controlled" opening. Other than that, Of course the interior is mostly plastic. It's a $18k car. What really shines in the tC is the Toyota engine reliability, sound quality, looks, and driving.
Speaking from ownership, I have a 2014 tC 6 speed manual trans. The car gives the best of many worlds: it is drop dead reliable, decently quick 0-60 is 6.9 seconds per Car and Driver, it is efficient (Im getting avg 28mpg mixed driving) it is sporty (handling updates made a huge difference for 2014) the stereo is kicking! 300watt Pioneer HD, it was even good in the recent blizzards we had in the Northeast, I never missed a day of work and I am on the road all day, never got stuck. All for $19,965. Will it blow away Corvettes? Nope. Will it hold its resale better than competition? Yes. Will it always start? Excellent reliability rating. So far I am satuisfied. It could use a rear wiper and an extra power outlet though, just sayin.
Just bought the tc 10.0 release series. Lovin it every minute. Yea it has a lot of plastic inside but it looks clean. Still the sunroof is bad ass I'll take that over a more premium interior.
This car is a great value! I love the lift hatch trunk which is rare to find in a coupe these days, the torquey 2.5L and 6 speed manual is a great combo. Yes the interior is a bit dated, but its functional and includes everything you need in a modern car for a great price!
The Scion TC is offered a lot of car for your money. That is a no-brainer. But I really love the compact size of the 1st generation more. I know the length of this 2nd gen is the same of the old one but it somehow looks very bulky now comparing with the more compacted first one.
The interior might be plastic but what wasn't mentioned is how good the audio stereo sounds and the speakers. Also that sunroof well than makes up for the plastic interior. Also the interior looks great and how it's facing the driver adds to the style on the interior not mentioned at all in this video. The guages look fine not sure how they look 10 years old, especially when other cars guages look about the same just different lighting color. But going back to the plastic many scion tc drivers love to customize the interior anyways so it being plastic actually makes it easy to paint it or wrap it.
not sure who used the car but he/she really didn't take care of it (why didn't you at least clean the interior?) my door panel hardly moves with decent pressure let alone creating a gap...
no, he's right about being first at a stop light, depending on how high you sit you may only see the green light. rear visibility isn't great but...... it's a two door hatchback
I haven't driven the actual manual. I have the auto. But it's got that half manual option (no idea what it's called) which makes a significant difference in acceleration. But even in auto no real complaints, having said that you're going to want to tune it up a bit before challenging anyone with upgraded parts. A slightly upgraded wrx will will beat you if you're stock with an auto
I have the 2013 tc and the interior is the same...I don't like it it all fukin plastic, gauges are wtever front visibility is fine I'm 5'8 and I don't have problems.backin up is a bitch though. with this car I found that the engine responds differently according to which oil u use and also which gas u pick..acceleration is ok manual transmission is the way to go why b a bitch and drive an automatic...
This guy is complaining as if hes reviewing a $100,000 car. Dude its a car for the youth, they dont care about all the points you were complaining about. 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️

It's not like people drive around touching the dashboard anyways
At least apply padding to hard plastic
soft touch plastic

everything was going right, and then suddenly its "this sucks, that sucks"
😂😂

yuck.
You mad bro?
JediFarce . Dont be jealous.
You still have it man?
This guy tries really hard to find things to dislike, the typical mistake of a newb journalist.
Hes only just pointing out the defects!
Wait is this a review or is this just him pointing out all the defects?
All the reviews I've seen about this car are negative. It's a small good looking reliable cheap car.what else do you want?🤔
These "company" reviews all think cars are supposed to be at BMW quality at $20k lol
Pretty good looking lil car.
Just bought the tc 10.0 release series. Lovin it every minute. Yea it has a lot of plastic inside but it looks clean. Still the sunroof is bad ass I'll take that over a more premium interior.
I love mine as well Scion tC is built to last and all around great car
love my tC
id like to know what his other choices would be over this car

It’s an affordable Toyota Camry coupe was this guy expecting the interior to be like a Lexus?

Please clean the hatchback before making the video next time.
Seriously . . . everything was dirty. The interior is already cheap, why make it worse on purpose?
It actually looks cool doesn't blend in with the others. I do agree with the cabin even tho most people wont notice
not sure who used the car but he/she really didn't take care of it (why didn't you at least clean the interior?) my door panel hardly moves with decent pressure let alone creating a gap...
That's one hell of a list of cons
Scion is a dying breed
Tell that to the FR-S.....selling like crazy.
Well have I got news for you
buildmorefarms100 I got bad news fam
Is the visibility really so bad?
no, he's right about being first at a stop light, depending on how high you sit you may only see the green light. rear visibility isn't great but...... it's a two door hatchback
Cool, thanks!
How is the acceleration, do you prefer the manual or automatic?

This guy is acting like a cry baby.
Why you hating on the car
The car is good to go
mechanically... show me better choices... I have been researching for months.
The tC only needs better mpg for it to be more competitive.
Or more power with the same millage. I'd be more impressed by that.
Forever my fave first car though, I might stick with Toyota for my next cars:)
The front looks more like a 2014 corolla
I love mine

That interior is horrible talk about low rent. Toyota isn't what it use to be. Honda did the same shit but definately improved there cars of recent.
It isnt horriblie, it is comparable to others in class....actually it is durable/.
Picky picky lol. Dissing the car like it's supposed to be a Lexus
I like the older Scion tCs better. Not liking the exterior of this car at all and the interior looks cheap.
Dude you need to stop talking and try to make better videos lol.
that car is filthy on the inside
That's too much money for that piece of junk.
You wish you could afford one. CR rated Scion the most reliable brand made in 2013....if that's junk I will take it!
Your reasons are biggest nit picking ever. So basically you hate the car. Why review it in the first place? This review is useless.
Kelsey Mays. Ladies man.....
Who is this guy 🤣
That interior is a joke! Who convinced us that $20,000-$25,000 is a cheap car Nd we should expect hard plastics etc i dont buy it
Haha loved this review!
ugly bumper.
The car looks so cheap
***** I've never been in a first gen tc, but i like my 2014. Yes, the interior could be better, but other than that, I like it very much.
