lol been sat here with my new one thinking it was only 250mw checked the hardware id after watching this and it's 2.02 checked max power 500mw already there.
Thank you for showing us. I just received my tango 2 a month ago.. but i had it on pre-order for a little while. So I was wondering what version I have.. now i know. Thank you so much
can u explain something to me cuz I'm still a noob , if I have the tango 2 crossfire and I can switch to 500mW max power. How far can I fly a long range drone ? And what video transmitter would I need to allow me to fly that far ? And Does it matter if I'm using digital dji or analog ?
Actual range depends on a lot of factors such as the antennas you are using , the weather, what is between you and the drone, etc. So that is hard to predict. But crossfire at 500mW can go quite far. If you are looking to do really long rang flying many many miles/kilometers, I'd suggest joining some Facebook groups dedicated to long range. Also, start small and slowly work your way up to long range. DJI FPV and analog can both go far with the right antennas, however DJI has a limit of about 8 miles or so.
@@mohammedzohairalikhan6103 No, it is not necessary to upgrade to 500mw. You can still go crazy far with a lot less power as long as you have good antennas and antenna placement.
Ideally, you would use the lowest power possible that still gets you the range you need. Unless you are flying many miles/kilometers away, you won't need 1w. Start with 250 or maybe 500 and get a feel for the range and adjust from there.
Hi, I got telemetry lost at 1km today. Does it mean I was a the range limit or does telemetry is sent back with 25mW (nano Rx), si with 500mW I had more range ?
I forget what the power level is, but yes, the telemetry sent back from the nano rx is not 500mW and you will lose the telemetry data a lot sooner than you will lose the control signal.
So I had Crossfire 3.78 installed with the Rev of the board at 2.01 and the update to 4.05 seems to have left the screen with downloading even though the update says 100% complete. Tried everything to get it to complete but appears bricked. Anyone seen this?
I feel like TBS briefly mentioned a bug with the download icon showing up on the screen after the update during one of their live streams. I thought in their case it went away as soon as you tried to use the radio. If that is not the case for you, I'd open a support ticket with TBS.
i cant update my tango 2 board. its on v3 board, now when i update 3.78 to 4.05 my screen will be stuck with Please update crossfire. i can only get it to work if i revert back to 3.78
My guess is that if you follow the steps in my other video on upgrading the Tango 2 firmware ( both Freedom TX and Crossfire), you will be able to get it all upgraded to the latest version. ruclips.net/video/wixjmeq22ds/видео.html Good luck!
I seem to be having issues opening up 500mw. I have the v3 pcb and I just updated to 4.05 with no problems. I even tried refreshing the update. But my max selectable power is still 250mw. Am I missing something or doing something wrong?
As far as I know, that is all you need to do. Perhaps you need to unlock your Tango 2 to enable more options..... team-blacksheep.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/4000099976-region-crossfire-locked-no-frequency-selection-and-limited-power-selection-under-general-menu

Higher power output from your radio can give you greater range. But if you don't need extra range, it's best not to increase the power any more than necessary.
@@sheapyfpv8224 I don't have my tango in front of my at the moment, but I think it is in that same spot. I think you can scroll through the power levels and select dynamic.

I just recently found some of your videos and I completely enjoy how to the point and helpful they are. Keep it up! You're doing great!
Thanks! Appreciate it.

@@5zero7RC sorry.. i have not checked yet.. im over the road truck driver.. i get home once a month for 34 hrs then back to work. So hopefully soon.
Version - Hardware version
v1 - 1.01
V2 - 1.02
V3 - 2.01
V4 - ?
Probably someone knows what is a hardware version of v4.
Do I only have to change the 500mW in the Tango 2 or also with the receiver with the TBS crossfire Nano? Thx 🙏
My V3, gives me the option for 1W, should I go that high?
It's unlikely you need to go that high. Generally it is best to use the lowest power you need for the distance you want to go.

I wonder how hot the Tango 2 gets when outputting 500mw? My R9M Lite Pro module gets super hot running at 500mW but it hasn’t caused any problems.
No idea. But I do know TBS did a bunch of testing before determining what the safe max output power of the v3 board would be.
@@5zero7RC not hot att all . Haven’t felt any difference in temperature. Works flawlessly.
Did I get it right that when I order the Tango 2 (with V3 PCB) now that 500mW should work out of the box?
Yes, that is correct. A new radio with the most recent board will work at 500mW.
