I think I made a mistake when setting those switches up for the video and had the 3 position switches reversed. But my intention was to set up the radio so that to arm, you first press the big button on the left side of the radio, then flip the 3 position switch all the way down to arm. I think the best advice is to look at the modes tab in betaflight and play around with pressing buttons and switches. You will see the little indicator move. Then move the bars to highlight the area you want that action active. The best example of this is where I have the 3 position switch set in the middle for the beeper. So try and see what you think would work out best for you. Prearm just means you have to have two buttons in the right position to be able to arm. Which makes accidental arming less likely.

Hey there! I need some help with my Tango II settings. When I push the pitch or roll fully on my remote controller, my drone doesn't achieve the full range of motion. It won't do proper dives or flips; instead, it responds slowly and with limited movement. I've followed various setup guides and checked my remote controller settings, but I still can't figure out what's wrong. Interestingly, when I test the controller in Betaflight's Receiver menu, everything appears to be working fine. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue?

I cant find in Config the reciever tab in the latest firmware update of betaflight. It doesnt say Serial based receiver in the tab. Its not even on the same config page anymore?
Hello, I recently got a FPV drone from Iflight (Nazgul Evoque) and have big problems with the TBS Nano receiver and the Tango 2. The connection goes constantly lost even if the binding was successful. Have also tried to flash the receiver but it has not changed much. Sometimes the connection stays for several minutes without problems but most of the time after a few seconds the connection goes away. I had no problems with another drone with the same settings. Firmware of the remote control and receiver are up to date. Could you maybe help me to solve this problem? Thank you Sam
If betaflight doesnt read your stick input dont worry. You might have to create a new module on the tango 2, which is shown later on in this video! It was the case for me and I didnt know what was going on..
How do you make a 3 position switch. Also why do you have bst scl and bst Sda if you didn't wire them? Please make a new updated video. Tbs agent x and alot has changed.
in regards to failsafe? what if you have a gps and have gps rescue does that affect it, if you set failsafe to cut? I have an iflight nazgul hd, with crossfire coming in the mail soon, i have the tango 2. just on the simulator at the moment. and ill pair this with dji goggles ofcourse, so watching your video now as ill need to know how to set it all up :)
I feel you... being "Noobius" in FPV is a daunting and steep learning curve. I have been working on "getting in the air" since the begining of "lockdown"... this guys vid helped alot!
I have a question when I tried to create a new model this error comes up scrip memory allocating panic error. what does this mean? I have been duplicating models and erasing them is this because of that?
I would try searching google for OpenTX and then the exact error message text in quotes and see if anything comes up. I assume your memory card is not full?
Audio alerts for Radio Signal strength... I have no option 'RFMD' for V1 under logical switches? I've scrolled through all the options but it is not there. Any idea what i missed? Thanks
I believe you need to tell the radio to find sensors before that will show up. I forget exactly where that is, but it's in one of the menus. Run that and then RFMD should show up.
You did not set the AND condition in the Logical Switches (per Oscar Liang). For LO2 and LO3 you should set the condition of "AND LO1" so that they are only true when the RFMD has value
Thanks! I was re-watching the video multiple times trying to figure out why he creates L01 if it's never been used. Now I see why! He just missed the important steps.
The UART's you have will depend on your flight controller. Most flight controllers will have a manual that shows a wiring diagram. Be sure to use the UART that the manual suggests and do NOT use a UART that is designed for only sbus.
I have latest version crsf 6.10 and my tango 2 v3 bound with solid green light on Nano and radio.. I can arm etc.. But I cannot see in crsf menu any Nano rx info anywhere.. Pls anyone advise why.. Or is this a simple fix.. (I do have dynamic power on and power switch off in crsf data on tango..)
That seems strange. I assume it should show up there if the receiver and radio are talking to each other. Maybe you need to run the "detect sensors" script in the menu?
I got a Tango 2 to mainly use as a controller for Velocidrone or other simulator, before I start using a real quad. But after all firmware downloads, my up to date Windows 10 computer (both of them) will not recognize the Tango 2 as a joystick (clicking that mode in the Tango 2). TBS sent me a replacement main board, but still no go.
Are you sure you don't have a windows driver issue? Last year a windows 10 update broke the controller feature. I think there are a bunch of videos out there showing how to fix that.. ruclips.net/video/SDnRSL3rDwM/видео.html ruclips.net/video/IN0Jbih797Y/видео.html
@@5zero7RC Ah, thank you for the suggestion. My Tango 2 device does not show up in any form, even the Windows update neutered version. Nor is there a "libusb..." heading in Device Manager. But you're right, it might be a driver thing. With device manager open, when the device is turned off or on, that screen "blinks" like something is going on, but no device under any category is recognizable as the Tango 2.
Nice comprehensive guide which I followed thanks. The only issue that I have is the my telemetry RSSI show 49 not 99 in my DJI goggles what am I missing! 🤔
I feel like I had mine showing that for a little while when playing around with it. Try to follow the section lower down on this page that says "Display LQ (Old Way)". That should get you 99 in your RSSI display.
@@5zero7RC cheers mate I just figured it out I knew there was something I was missing🤔 in the receiver tab in betaflight had the wrong RSSI Aux channel assigned in the top right box Lol 😊👍🏻
So this is something I only need to do once right? I'm asking because I'm trying to bind another quad to the same tbs tango 2 I've always used, and I wanna keep the same settings I had
I was able to connect my DJI Hd goggles to my quad (iflight nazgul5 with caddx vista; crossfire nano rx) but my tbs tango 2 controller is giving me issues... When I try to bind it the controller never seems to pick up on it
Strange, if the crossfire nano was not bound before, all you should have to do is power up the Tango 2, go into bind mode, then power up the nano and they should bind. It might take a moment or two if they are not on the same firmware and it should then ask you to update the firmware on the nano.
@@5zero7RC Do you think the problem could have anything to do with the fact that I accidentally started beta flight before I binded my radio and goggles? I didn't know that was the first step so to correct it I went back into beta flight and booted from my factory default saved copy (so everything should be the way it came out of the box) and then was able to successfully pair the Goggles but now still the issue of the tango 2.
Betaflight would be completely independent from the binding between the Tango 2 and the nano receiver. Resetting betaflight could affect seeing the movement of your sticks however. What are the lights doing on the nano? Have you looked at the crossfire manual? That might have some solutions in it for you. If all else fails, TBS has some good support so I'm sure they could get it sorted as well.
Unless you have something different between the settings on the two drones, you don't even need a new model. You can bind multiple drones to the same model just fine. You only need a new model if you want to change the channel mapping or one is a wing and one is a drone, etc. For the most part if you have multiple drones you can likely use the same model.
Hey can you help me out with my tango 2: I am using it on my baby hawk 2 and my whoop. I just got the mark 5 and after binding it and arming it i get a weird problem; the i just nudge the throttle up and down it work fine but when i add more throttle the motors spool up very fast and when i try to bring the throttle down it doesn't slow it down. I'm forced to turn it off. And the weird thing is that it affected my other two drones in the same way, i tried to rebinding them , updating the tbs agent and copy to items to Script/tools when updating the sd card on tango 2. What the hell is wrong ? Very coincidental that this happened after binding to the new quad. What should i Do?
Hello 5zero7, thanks for your video, helps me a lot, but i have a little problem, When I put the throttle in the bottom position, the drone comes down but start to jump, bouncing on the floor, do you know what could be?? maybe Im missing something, thanks
That is totally normal. A feature called Air Mode causes that, and you want that feature enabled. To land you need to disarm just before you touch down. Have a look at this video: ruclips.net/video/Y9FPOy8C6I4/видео.html
20:43 what if my sticks do not match? I have tried the rxange command, when i lower the failsafe values right down to 750 (min) it just goes down to 750.
Are you saying your throttle on the radio does not match the throttle in betaflight, or the values don't go from 1000 to 2000? Or do the bars not move at all?
@@5zero7RC It moved from the absolute minimum to maximum in betaflight, lower than failsafe and then it popped back to 1500 after a split second. But i fixed it using the OUTPUTS tab in the menu of the tango. It was the endpoints of roll and pitch (yaw and throttle were fine)
I am going insane here. My radio I think is binded but it keeps loosing connection saying "RF Signal Critical, Telemetry Lost" sometimes it then says Telemetry recovered. I am standing right next to it and I also tried moving away a bit. I have updated firmware to latest on both
Yeah, you should not be getting that message. Are your antennas connected well? Have you double checked that you did all the same things I did in this video to set it up? If you need more help, check out the Tango 2 facebook group or reach out to TBS support. Should be able to get it sorted for you.
@@5zero7RC I worked it out. It was the latest beta firmware I installed I was following Josh Bardwels setup and be said to get the latest beta firmware because TBS are very reliable when testing I downgraded to the latest official release and now it.binds and connect's without issue
I have binded my receiver to my TBS Tango 2, but yet i can't see movement of my sticks on Betaflight, nor can i configure my switches. I have followed your instructions here to the letter, yet i can't seem to find a way to control my drone. Both are bound, but nothing's happening... Please help. I am using a Zeus5 AIO fc 4in1 esc board with the TBS Crossfire nano Rx, on my LR frame.
My first guess is that there is an issue with your wiring. One simple test would be to swap the tx and rx and see if that makes any difference. Or maybe the UART you are wired to is not what you have betaflight expecting.
@@5zero7RC Yes, thanks for the tip. It seems that i have soldered the ch.1 wire incorrectly at the wrong solder pad. I have no idea what RC means on the board, but that's where i soldered my ch.1 instead on the R2 (Rx) pad. Now i've switched it over to the right pad, and everything's working 100%. Thanks for the help.
Great video and thanks for sharing. I just got my Tango 2 Pro and I updated the firmware to 1.2x. I can't get my channel mapping to work correctly in Betaflight. I have selected AETR1234 as my channel in BF and when I move my Tango 2 Throttle stick the YAW also moves with it. Anything else I need to do to correct this issue? I have no issue with my TBS TX micro attached to the back of my Taranis X9D but I can't get the Tango 2 to work at all. Thank you in advance.
I had to be very careful when going through the new model wizard on the Tango 2 to get the right sticks in the right order so it would match what I wanted. You can also go into the settings for the model and change it later if you get it wrong.
@Brandon S In all the simulators I have used, there is a radio setup wizard you can go through that allows you to adjust which controls on the radio do what. That should allow you to match controls with what works in betaflight.
@Brandon S Everything is adjustable. You could modify your betaflight config so it works as expected, you could change your mapping in the tango 2. The easiest solution in my opinion would be to get betaflight and the tango 2 working as you mentioned, then when you use a simulator, go through the simulators setup wizard and have it fix the controls for you. Then you should end up with a tango 2 that works in the simulator and with betaflight.
No, once you bind all the receivers in your quads you should be good. Any powered up receiver will get a signal from your radio after they are bound. So be sure to only have one powered up at a time! :)
I'm sorry to see that the drone flew down too close to your head and skimmed the top of it... close call your lucky is didn't hit you in the face and just took off the top of your hair instead... fly safe! drones are dangerous as we can see in this video! :O
Awesome video!!!! What should I set my feet forward interpolation average to? Also is there an ADC filter that I can turn off in the tango 2 ???? I do not have the DJI goggles yet just to be clear
I believe the feed forward setting is something that is intended to be adjusted to personal preference. Personally I have never changed that from the default. I am not familiar with "DC filter" or what that would be.
Great vid and thank you for this! By chance, do you know a way to back up Tango 2 radio settings (everything lol). e.g. Radio Channel Order, RETA, mode 1/2, Mixes (switches), Logical Switches, Special Functions (for RSSI warnings, critical, highspeed, lowspeed, etc? And if so, can you move or copy those to your other Tango 2 (for multi-bind purposes)?
I believe everything is stored on the memory card and you can copy the data to a new radio if needed. And TBS also has a special multi-bind function that would help if you have multiple crossfire setups.... ruclips.net/video/HZg0gR4b0XU/видео.html
Hi everybody, does anybody know what “waiting for Crossfire de...” means ? (I think the text is to long to fit in the screen) it’s on the crossfire menu setup page, thank y’all in advance
Google wants to autocomplete that to say, "waiting for Crossfire devices". If that is true, this might help: team-blacksheep.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/4000134180--crossfire-waiting-for-devices Otherwise I would contact TBS support and see what they have to say.
Did you get your issue fixed? I saw a similar post on Facebook today that explained how to fix it if you still need help. Something about the tango 2 was configured to expect an external crossfire module, once they changed that setting it was all good.
I m currently using frysky x-lite with my mobula6. I purchased the tango 2 and the module. How do I copy the flight model to my tangl 2? or is it easier just to setup a new one?
Probably easier to set up a new model. Though I have never tried to copy one. I assume this video would be a good place to start: ruclips.net/video/AI-6UTejXO0/видео.html
Hello! I just got the tango 2. Is there something to do on the first power on so that it does not lock to a specific mode like EU for exemple? I don't want to get stuck with a low output power as soon as I start using it :-)
As far as I know everything can be changed at any time, so you won't get locked into EU mode or anything like that. You can "unlock" it and configure the radio to be any mode/power level you want.
@@5zero7RC great! Thanks a lot for answering! I am beginning in fpv and I struggle with some of the technology! I went high end analog and I still have a despicable image quality...
This info is great, thank you for doing this is such detail. I've bound my nano to the tango 2 not problem, are you going into the betaflight setup to set up a new model or the csfr part? My Tango2 is saying it's bound (as when I disconnect the lipo - it say connection lost). I don't see any movement in the rx tab in betaflight when connected via usb. the uart is set correctly, the rx in config also. Im at a loss, any help would be great . Thanks in advance
I would be surprised if there was NOT a way to do that, however I have not run across any examples of how to do it. Maybe someone in the TBS Lounge on Facebook would know... facebook.com/groups/BlackSheepLOUNGE
Great video. Thank you. Nobody shows this much for this radio. Question is how far can you go with the tango 2 and the nano receiver? Is it better to have the diversity. I just fly freestyle so I'm not going miles out but a mile would be great if possible
A mile should be no problem, especially if you have a v3 Tango 2 that has the higher power options. A diversity receiver is nice because it allows you to have antennas placed in different locations and orientations so that the frame and battery don't block the signal when the drone is spinning around in different directions. But that should not be needed when flying typical freestyle. As long as you have good antenna placement on the drone and not too much blocking your signal between you and the drone, you should be fine.
I have a problem, my tango 2 see the receiver but this one have green flash light and I don’t see it in betaflight... in tango 2 crossfire menu i don’t have the betaflight voice in the list but I see the nano receiver tx menu 🧐
My guess is that you have to manually re-bind the receiver. But check this crossfire manual and see what the led light codes mean. www.team-blacksheep.com/tbs-tango2-manual.pdf
@@5zero7RC the tango led is solid green but receiver led is slow blinking green... in tango 2 display I see the signal value scale... and tango voice give me a feedback for connected signal.
Sorry, wrong manual. Yes, check the crossfire manual (www.team-blacksheep.com/tbs-crossfire-manual.pdf). Slow green blink means receiver is in binding mode, fast green blinking means receiver bootloader active or firmware upgrade running. Green flashing means Diversity RX is in Find-mode (up to 1 min. delay between flashing). Double green blinking means Authentication error. Rebind your receiver. So basically you need to rebind or update the firmware on the crossfire receiver.
@@5zero7RC I update the tango 2 to latest beta firmware... and the receiver automatically update too.. I rebind and now I have the solid green led in both radio and receiver. And I see the joystick inputs in beta flight!! 👍👍

What exactly does the SD card alert say? I would check with the TBS Tango II facebook group or reach out to the TBS support. facebook.com/groups/553173978745368
Turn on the radio, press the menu button, then press the page button until you get to page 10. Scroll down to discover new sensors. Then click the scroll wheel to start discovery. After a few seconds you can click the wheel again to stop the discovery. I think that should do it.
@@5zero7RC Thank you! Just a fun note for anyone trying this, do make sure the quad (or at least the receiver) is on when you run Discover New Sensors! Works much better that way! 😂 From a fellow Minnesotan, I hope you get some great flights in this weekend!
Thanks for this video. Just got my TBS tango 2 pro. My old radio is an Turnigy Evolution Tango. How do you check what channels everything was set to on your previous radio so you can match everything up with the tango?
One way to do that is look in betaflight with everything connected and you should see the bars move when you flip switches etc. That will tell you the channel each switch is on. Then you can map them the same way when setting up a new radio.
@@5zero7RC thanks. I'll check and write them down It had a frsky receiber in it right now I guess I'll have to de-solder that off and solder on the tbs receiver right
That is correct. You will want to remove the old receiver and replace it with a crossfire one. If you have a flysky receiver you can wire the crossfire in the same place. But if you have frsky receiver you might need to wire crossfire in a different location. Check your flight controller wiring diagram for details.
I believe you need to have the radio bound to a receiver and run the "detect sensors" function with everything running. At least that is my assumption which could be wrong, but that is what I did at some point.

Should failsafe be cut even if i want to set up a gps failsafe ?
THANKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKSSSSSSSSS
If betaflight doesnt read your stick input dont worry. You might have to create a new module on the tango 2, which is shown later on in this video! It was the case for me and I didnt know what was going on..
I thinking to get tbs tango 2 instead my dji remote dunno if it's good idea
How do you make a 3 position switch. Also why do you have bst scl and bst Sda if you didn't wire them? Please make a new updated video. Tbs agent x and alot has changed.
I can´t see the Tango screem :(
Do you have any good info on setting channel endpoints on the controller so they are correct in betaflight? (1000 / 2000)
in regards to failsafe? what if you have a gps and have gps rescue does that affect it, if you set failsafe to cut?
I have an iflight nazgul hd, with crossfire coming in the mail soon, i have the tango 2. just on the simulator at the moment. and ill pair this with dji goggles ofcourse, so watching your video now as ill need to know how to set it all up :)
so helpful thanks!
You are a hero🙌🙏
Glad to hear this video is still helping people!
12:50 - My TBS T2 is stuck here, can't seem to be able to select Multi (it's stuck on plane). Damn it so close again...
That seems really strange. When I spin the scroll wheel it changes what is selected. I assume your scroll wheel works in order to get this far.
I feel you... being "Noobius" in FPV is a daunting and steep learning curve. I have been working on "getting in the air" since the begining of "lockdown"... this guys vid helped alot!
Nice video man!
THanks!
Thank you.
what is logical switch 1 if it doesn't get a link in the special function?
I have a question when I tried to create a new model this error comes up scrip memory allocating panic error. what does this mean? I have been duplicating models and erasing them is this because of that?
I would try searching google for OpenTX and then the exact error message text in quotes and see if anything comes up. I assume your memory card is not full?
My L02 and L03 setup shows RQly in *F, not percentage…how is that even a thing?
Audio alerts for Radio Signal strength... I have no option 'RFMD' for V1 under logical switches? I've scrolled through all the options but it is not there. Any idea what i missed? Thanks
I believe you need to tell the radio to find sensors before that will show up. I forget exactly where that is, but it's in one of the menus. Run that and then RFMD should show up.
@@5zero7RC Ok thank you I will look for that
Good tips BTW
You did not set the AND condition in the Logical Switches (per Oscar Liang). For LO2 and LO3 you should set the condition of "AND LO1" so that they are only true when the RFMD has value
Humm, strange, the alerts appear to be working as expected when I go out and fly.
5zero7 RC - mine were going off way too early so I reviewed the details of Oscar’s tutorial.
Thanks! I was re-watching the video multiple times trying to figure out why he creates L01 if it's never been used. Now I see why! He just missed the important steps.
so im stuck. I only have uart 1,2,and 4 in BF and I cannot give my stick movements to. show up in BF under receiver. what am I doing wrong
Maybe you need to run the "detect sensors" script in the menu?
ty!
Yes, if you set up both quads the same way, with the same switches etc, you can bind to multiple receivers and everything should work as you expect.
If I want to bind another drone can I copy the first model , change the name and bind it?
Are you sure this is new behavior? If you have air mode enabled and trying this with the props off, that is normal.
@@5zero7RC awesome... It works!! I disabled the option and is not bouncing anymore... Thanks mate 😌
It was the latest beta firmware I installed
I was following Josh Bardwels setup and be said to get the latest beta firmware because TBS are very reliable when testing
I downgraded to the latest official release and now it.binds and connect's without issue
@@PatrickGuerrisi Glad to hear it is working. Also very odd that the latest firmware caused that issue.
@@5zero7RC well it was their latest "beta" version
I could try it again but scared I'll go through more.crap
@@herphermits Awesome! Glad to hear you got it working!
I have 2 fpv quads and bounded one by one.
I used the first quad and changed to the second one. Do I need to rebind the second quad again?
No, once you bind all the receivers in your quads you should be good. Any powered up receiver will get a signal from your radio after they are bound. So be sure to only have one powered up at a time! :)
@@5zero7RC Thank you for your help :)
Awesome video. Thank you. What is the board youre using underneath the Kakute f7?
I think when I made this video it was a Tekko 32 F3. You can get all the specs for my build here: rotorbuilds.com/build/20006
@@5zero7RC So cool. And thank you for the very fast response
I'm sorry to see that the drone flew down too close to your head and skimmed the top of it... close call your lucky is didn't hit you in the face and just took off the top of your hair instead... fly safe! drones are dangerous as we can see in this video! :O
Thanks for posting this! I"m about to convert my DJI FPV quads now. So did you just leave the DJI wiring soldered and reassign UART's in software?
Yep, that is exactly what I did.
(I think the text is to long to fit in the screen)
it’s on the crossfire menu setup page,
thank y’all in advance
Google wants to autocomplete that to say, "waiting for Crossfire devices". If that is true, this might help: team-blacksheep.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/4000134180--crossfire-waiting-for-devices
Otherwise I would contact TBS support and see what they have to say.
Did you get your issue fixed? I saw a similar post on Facebook today that explained how to fix it if you still need help. Something about the tango 2 was configured to expect an external crossfire module, once they changed that setting it was all good.
They are using my name !!
It doesn’t give me an output map
This info is great, thank you for doing this is such detail. I've bound my nano to the tango 2 not problem, are you going into the betaflight setup to set up a new model or the csfr part? My Tango2 is saying it's bound (as when I disconnect the lipo - it say connection lost). I don't see any movement in the rx tab in betaflight when connected via usb. the uart is set correctly, the rx in config also. Im at a loss, any help would be great . Thanks in advance
To create a new model, I am doing that in the menu of the Tango 2 screen. Good luck!
Is there any way to set up audio alarms for when the power output increases because of dynamic power?

I think you need to tell the radio to detect sensors and then it will show up.
Turn on the radio, press the menu button, then press the page button until you get to page 10. Scroll down to discover new sensors. Then click the scroll wheel to start discovery. After a few seconds you can click the wheel again to stop the discovery. I think that should do it.

Just a fun note for anyone trying this, do make sure the quad (or at least the receiver) is on when you run Discover New Sensors! Works much better that way! 😂

@@jeffsDad Yeah, better get some flights in this weekend, next week looks less than ideal.
I'll check and write them down
It had a frsky receiber in it right now
I guess I'll have to de-solder that off and solder on the tbs receiver right
That is correct. You will want to remove the old receiver and replace it with a crossfire one. If you have a flysky receiver you can wire the crossfire in the same place. But if you have frsky receiver you might need to wire crossfire in a different location. Check your flight controller wiring diagram for details.
@@5zero7RC its actually flysky not frsky...
just checked with the guy i bought it off
Excellent, question: 25:17 To add the RFMD, must the drone (rx) be linked with the Tango 2?
I believe you need to have the radio bound to a receiver and run the "detect sensors" function with everything running. At least that is my assumption which could be wrong, but that is what I did at some point.
👍👍 Thx
