This is a brilliant set-up guide. I got all the way to the end but then (this is 2 years after you posted this) the interface looks different and I can't do the final arming to make the props turn. After I select "I understand the risks," I can make the props spin and control them with the software master slider but not with the TBS Tango II. Hey there! I need some help with my Tango II settings. When I push the pitch or roll fully on my remote controller, my drone doesn't achieve the full range of motion. It won't do proper dives or flips; instead, it responds slowly and with limited movement. I've followed various setup guides and checked my remote controller settings, but I still can't figure out what's wrong. Interestingly, when I test the controller in Betaflight's Receiver menu, everything appears to be working fine. Any ideas on what might be causing this issue?
i got my drone all set up and ready to fly but I got one question about the throttle stick, like if i throttle all the way the down the motors speed up like I throttle up and if I put halfway it’s slows down, I don’t know if it’s good thing or that’s how fpv drone throttle works?
How can I use the F and E buttons on the back of the controller? I don't see any reaction on betaflight on the receiver page when I press those, but all the other inputs show up and work
I’ve set up a model on my tango2, and bound the tango with my drone, but when I plug into beta flight, none of the sticks or switches get any response at all in bf
So back when I used to use Spektrum radio, I could set up dual rates? Like I can change the sensitivity of roll, pitch, and yaw all at once, like maybe to 85%, then 75% or something, and set that on 1 of my switches. How do I do this with the TBS tango II? I was planning to use the 3-position switches on it (B or C) for this, seems not possible. How?
So after carefully setting my radio up exactly like you did both in input and mixers I go into BF sticks work great but when I push D button which should be arm the beeper goes off and it's mode light goes on but on the arm slide the little light goes on in the arm.....and when I push B switch the gps rescue light goes on the slide bar but the mode light doesn't light up ....turtle works good....D button does nothing.....and like I said it's all set up like yours
Hey - so when you are in the modes tab in BF you have only set up the switches that you have added in the tango 2 controller? so if its like mine I only have beeper, arm, turtle - thats it. if there are any other switches you need you need to add them the same way in the controller. If you don't need more switches you need to remove the unwanted ones from the mode tab. So my controller has only 3 switches set up in it if you want more switches you need to add more in the controller - just repeat my tutorial for more switches. does that make sense?
@@Datfpv yes I set up the same switches... arm, beeper, mode and turtle.... turtle is the only one working right in being a flight when I push the D button nothing happens in BF..... I push the E button both arm and horizon mode light up.... when I push the B switch in BF it's controlling the GPS rescue function.....I have checked my settings many times and they are exactly like yours...... I have a short video if I knew how to send it to you.... i've noticed my auxiliaries are different than yours
to me it sounds like you have too many set up in the modes tab. DELETE the ones you don't want? - its not set like mine because I only have 3 in the MODES TAB IN BETAFLIGHT. - check the modes tab - there is a small 'x' you can delete the ones that shouldn't be there - if its set like mine where did gps come from??
Great Video! I have a problem. I have cinewhoop ( 39g Eachine Cinefun 1S 75mm CRAZYBEEX) setup completed but the quad wont arm. I type STATUS in the CLI tab in betaflight and there are no arming flags. I can see movement of the motor meters on the motor tab in betaflight. Also when I press the button that is bound to beeper it doesn't beep. I can see In the modes tab that it is configured correctly
Very Helpful! Is there a way to quickly copy settings for a second drone? I assume you can make a copy of the model in tango 2 and go to menu to bind the second drone so it is registered against the second model. But what about Betaflight settings regarding the switches? Thanks!
hi I am back here. I am trying to set a failsafe button to button E. I have done the setup on this video but the part where I am having trouble is getting betaflight to recognise it. When I press the E button the modes tab in betaflght doesnt show it knows I am pressing it
sorry me again. I have have a problem now where when I roll right its slow and roll left its super quick. I have calibrated my sticks about 3 times and it wont fix this. Some people have said to adjust my trims but I dont really know how? I know how to get into the trim menu but not really sure what I am supposed to do?
hi, i have followed all ur steps to setup my new iflight bumblebee v3, im having trouble arming the quad still the motors spin when i drag up the volume by laptop but not when i press my arming switch? hope you can help
did you put flip over on aux 4? I can't see which one it is in the video. it would have to be something other than Aux 4 because AUX 4 is assigned to RSSI, correct:? This is so bloody frustrating.
Hello, I set up button D for the arm but it doesn't work. In Betaflight when I press it the arm turns red but when I go to the motor section and toggle "understand" on and press the D nothing happens. When I disconnect the drone and press D nothing happens.
I couldnt find it either then I connected it up to my computer and ran the TBS Agent X program and found it there! Nice of TBS to update the Firmware then NOT add in the notes that the only way to access the Crossfire Menu is through their desktop software!! They need to update their online instruction manual for this radio as it is now well obsolete after recent updates.
My RC is bound to my quad but there is no inputs on Betaflight. Its not a damage in cables, since when i first connected it, it worked fine. Now it wont work at all. I cant seem to find the reason. Any ideas?
Hi I'm having issues with it syncing up with betaflight. I plug the drone into the pc and it says it's connected on Betaflight config app but when I move the sticks nothing happens. Any ideas?
Hi, can you help me, when I get to 3.18 on Ur video my button mapping (exactly the same as yours) doesn't work the button will not register, what do I need to do?
Hey DatFPV. I followed your instructions step-by-step. Thank you very much. I have two models set up in my Tango2. One for flying and one for velocidrone. Can I disable the radio tx completely for the sim model. Because everytime I switch the Tango on, I have to confirm that radio isn't required. Before that my eardrums are blown through my wireless headphones picking up all that noise.
Hi - glad it helped you connect / bind and sort it all out, great to hear - I think there is away to switch the thing off like you ask, but off the top of my head not sure...! soz.
Hello guys, I want to buy a Cinelog 35 v2 drone and a Tango 2 remote control (I read that it works on TBS Crossfire), this means that I need to buy the drone with the TBS Nano RX option to use it in conjunction. If I buy a drone with the ELRS 2.4 option, will it not work with this remote control? I looked on Google at what frequency this remote control operates and it is 868 MHz (Europe); 915MHz (USA, Asia, Australia). Are there any restrictions on the use of this frequency in Canada?
Sir, I need your help to set up my TBS Tango 2 Pro RC. I encountered some issues with the RC, so I performed a factory reset and then attempted to update to the latest version. However, during the update process, my laptop lost internet connection, and the update was not completed. Now, the RC is displaying a slow updating sign, but none of its functions are responsive. What steps can I take to resolve this issue?
Quick question, I have the betafpv Lite radio 2 and I was just about to upgrade to a TX16S because the tango2 doesn't support tracer as far as I know, can you confirm it doesn't work with tracer?
hey man, this is what I know... the tango 2 can be moded with a bay on the back and you can insert the nano tracer TX into it that bay - but you obviously have to do the work / alterations to the tango 2, unless you can get hold of one already done?
Yeah I know that the tango v2 has the ability to take the external bay but it seems a waste of money to buy a Tango2 and then add tracer to it. Like paying twice for something. At least If I get the TX16S it comes with multi protocols built in so I can buzz with my whoops all in one radio. Just annoyed about the bulky form factor, would much rather the joypad style radio.
thats why you have the tango 2 and do the mod... or keep the betalite for whoops and stuff... I wouldn't have the t18, 12, 16 radiomaster, q7 taranis etc etc they are all too big, just not what its about for me.
@@Datfpv that's all very true, my original plan was just the Tango2 but I have been listening to too many people talking about how limited I would be, AAAHHHHHHH! THE VOICES, THEY WONT STOP!!!! 😂 I'll have to give it a week or two before I jump into anything
Hey can you help me out with my tango 2: I am using it on my baby hawk 2 and my whoop. I just got the mark 5 and after binding it and arming it i get a weird problem; the i just nudge the throttle up and down it work fine but when i add more throttle the motors spool up very fast and when i try to bring the throttle down it doesn't slow it down. I'm forced to turn it off. And the weird thing is that it affected my other two drones in the same way, i tried to rebinding them , updating the tbs agent and copy to items to Script/tools when updating the sd card on tango 2. What the hell is wrong ? Very coincidental that this happened after binding to the new quad. What should i Do?
Hey Dat, great explination, thanks. Any idea what might cause the quad to want to immediatly fly hard right at arming. I had no issues with my TX16s and CRSF module, for some reason i need full left trim and i cant even raise the throttle a hair before the motors spool up and want to go to the moon. I changed nothing, it happens to both of my CRSF enabled quads. im totally stumped, any ideas? anyhelp would be really appreciated. Thanks.
have you looked at the end points of your sticks in betaflight ? on the receiver tab the colour bars should be steady - if they are off then your quad will drift - I / everyone at some point will need to adjust end points.
@@Datfpv Of all things, It was the stick calibration... I watched the numbers in the receiver tab in BetaFlight while moving the throttle stick up and down and noticed the yaw numbers moving up at throttle high and throttle idle, and the 3-D model picture of the quad would roll to right at idle and max throttle. I recalibrated the sticks and all was normal again. Lesson learned.

hello, how you bind the Tango with a drone? I lost when you start whit a betaflight
most of my set-up vids show how to bund the tango 2 - you must have a crossfire reciever in your quad though... ruclips.net/video/sQ4xliEopFE/видео.html the binding is pretty easy with crossfire.
hey i m new to the hd world. I just purchased the babyhawk 2 hd which im waiting for to arrive and i bought the dji goggles v1 already. I have been flying tinny whoop Eachine AE65 - crossfire using my aomway v1 goggles and tango 2. Is there a way i could fly my tiny whoop using the dji goggles somehow instead of the aomways?
Hey I’m having trouble I’ve done the setup I’m bound (green solid) ive basically checked everything that i can think of Tx rx wires flashed FC updated the radio and nano rx I have the right protocol selected serial rx on right uart selected AETR1234 mapping but nooo stick input from the tango still , what video were you referring to for further troubleshooting , i need to see that thanks !
Hi - I think this maybe down to a setting in the configuration tab of betaflight - SO in betaflight select the 'configuration' tab on the left - scroll down to the areaa that says 'Receiver' there should be 2 dropdown menus, the top one should be in 'serial-based receiver (SPKSAT, SBUS, SUMD)' the second dropdown underneath should be 'CRSF' - thats crossfire - this should solve your problem.
ok - in ports - have you set the UART you have used - turned on 'serial Rx' - if crossfire is on TX3 / RX3 - its UART3 - tx/rx2 - its UART2 etc etc - try that
Hey I can't get beta flight on my laptop screen, all it does is give me a message that says driver unknown and won't boot. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks
Hi. . Is there a way to use the Diamond Antenna or just the regular Immortal-T with the Tango 2 Pro? Meaning like how do I take off (if possible) that stock antenna to use the other antennas instead? :P
@@Datfpv Thanks, but could you maybe make a how to video? or at least point me somewhere that shows how to do this, please. . and yes, I will subscribes and I've already liked the video, thanks for at least replying
@@abnormallynormal8823 Uh ok, that's obvious though :p, More specifically, "how do you take the radio apart?" (without damaging it), "how do you remove the antenna?" "what do you mean replace it with u.fl to SMA?" I'm awful with taking things apart, something always goes wrong or breaks. That's why I'd rather watch and follow along with the process.
I had a local guy make a custom quad for me. I’m trying to figure out how to get the drone to go into full acro mode. Also, those sticks are sick! How can I get my hands on some?!

I set up everything the way you did and then I followed your instructions and set up GPS RESCUE, I set it up on button "A" but in betaflight when I add range it doesn't recognize that button. What am I doing wrong?
Also, my arm button works in the "Modes" panel but when I go to motors and click that I understand the risk, then nothing happens, motors do not turn on at all.
if it doesn't arm make sure you do have your sticks in the corrcet place, throttle is throttle and yaw is yaw etc etc: ruclips.net/video/7ZUe-sC7mmU/видео.html
you may of run out of channels... the tango may be set to 8 channels 4 are used for sticks and the others for buttons - and if you are using the other 4 and you need a 5th ? then you are out of channels... you can change it to 12 in the tango 2
@@Datfpv ah, I'll have to figure out how to change it to 12 or swap out turtle mode. I already watched that video and got my sticks right and like I said in Modes it shows it working but in Motors it doesn't, I can manually raise those bars and my motors will start going but hitting arm doesn't seem to do anything and hitting the throttle stick does nothing also. I've spent the last 4 nights, multiple videos, and multiple emails with TBS to finally get my Tango 2 to bind with my Chimera7 and now I've got one last issue thats keeping me from flying! Lol
So I have only Apple devices and I’m trying to connect my tango to my 2020 MacBook Pro Literally betaflight and blheli and everything will not work on this Mac because it’s too new I guess there is some issue with newer Mac software being compatible with fpv stuff in general I’m wondering if there is some driver for this issue Or something I can’t be the only one I just want to fly a sim online with my friends Any help on this would be appreciated
I have a question when I tried to create a new model this error comes up scrip memory allocating panic error. what does this mean? I have been duplicating models and erasing them is this because of that?
Hey - great question... there isn't a acro mode in betaflight at all... just set up horizon or stable mode on a rocker switch, 1 and 2 - and the 3rd position is nothing... that is acro.. or just don't add any mode of horizon / stable etc and your quad will be complete acro.... hope that sort of explains it.
Hello men, your video help me 3 times now 😂😂 but I have a problem and I can’t find the calibrate sticks bottom. I was on a film job and the calibration started alone, I did it wrong cause I didn’t see it and now I can’t even start the dron cause the sticks are quite bad . I see a lot of videos but they have 6 menus and they find it on the hardware page, but we have 11 menus 😅
If this is a true setup video should you be assuming that I have a bound quad? I just took this out of the box. It can't be bound to anything. Now I dig for another video.
I guess I do pressure views view my channel, crossfire is all I use and the binding is pretty much on all my build vides: ruclips.net/video/5spyTMm-NHQ/видео.html
hey - this sounds like you have updated the controller but you will also need to update the receivers / nanos in the quads too. There is a firmware update for the controller though that stops you from updating the nanos... I've done this myself and had to downgrade the firmware on the controller.
Got yet another question.. "Is there a way to turn the volume down on the TANGO2?" Everytime I start it, it yells "WELCOME TO TANGO 2!!"" kinda loud xD

So my controller has only 3 switches set up in it
if you want more switches you need to add more in the controller - just repeat my tutorial for more switches.
does that make sense?

Thanks!
Great video what's difference between amber light and green. Mines always amber but I see in tbs manual it says green light is a solid link??
amber light is no link, green solid is bound to the receiver
hi I am back here. I am trying to set a failsafe button to button E. I have done the setup on this video but the part where I am having trouble is getting betaflight to recognise it. When I press the E button the modes tab in betaflght doesnt show it knows I am pressing it
Do you have a bind vid?
this one does the bind: ruclips.net/video/5spyTMm-NHQ/видео.html
Very nicely done.

Does setting which buttons for which action via the controller (like in the start if this video) override the settings chosen in Betaflight?
Great video, thanks for the help
happy it helped mate, remember to subscribe, thanks
Hi, why not in betaflight changed the buttons modes? It's easy! I didn't mess around in the remote, only in BF
Is there a faster way to set this up with it connected to a computer? I love this radio for a lot of things but the setup is horribly complicated.
My throttle and is t he other joy stick on for my geprc mark 5
I can’t wait to get this controller. 👍🏼👍🏼
sorry me again. I have have a problem now where when I roll right its slow and roll left its super quick. I have calibrated my sticks about 3 times and it wont fix this. did you put flip over on aux 4? I can't see which one it is in the video. it would have to be something other than Aux 4 because AUX 4 is assigned to RSSI, correct:?
This is so bloody frustrating.
Hello, I set up button D for the arm but it doesn't work. In Betaflight when I press it the arm turns red but when I go to the motor section and toggle "understand" on and press the D nothing happens. When I disconnect the drone and press D nothing happens.
I only have 11 menu pages on my tango 2… do you know how i can get the crossfire setup-menu?
I couldnt find it either then I connected it up to my computer and ran the TBS Agent X program and found it there!
Nice of TBS to update the Firmware then NOT add in the notes that the only way to access the Crossfire Menu is through their desktop software!!
They need to update their online instruction manual for this radio as it is now well obsolete after recent updates.
My RC is bound to my quad but there is no inputs on Betaflight. Its not a damage in cables, since when i first connected it, it worked fine. Now it wont work at all. I cant seem to find the reason.

Hi - glad it helped you connect / bind and sort it all out, great to hear - I think there is away to switch the thing off like you ask, but off the top of my head not sure...! soz.
Is this for mode 2 radio settings?
yes mode 2 - be the same really more or less for other modes...
Is that the new screen v3 version?
no - but shouldn't make any diff
I think you can attach a module bay to the tango 2 and then you can put in a tracer module... Not sure though....
hey man, this is what I know... the tango 2 can be moded with a bay on the back and you can insert the nano tracer TX into it that bay - but you obviously have to do the work / alterations to the tango 2, unless you can get hold of one already done?
Can you map more than 8 channels with the Tango?
yes you can.!
In betaflight my sticks are swapped, the throttle is doing pitch and vice versa, how to change it?
this one mate: ruclips.net/video/7ZUe-sC7mmU/видео.html

@@Datfpv Thanks DAT, I’ll check it out.

Hi - I think this maybe down to a setting in the configuration tab of betaflight - SO in betaflight select the 'configuration' tab on the left - scroll down to the areaa that says 'Receiver' there should be 2 dropdown menus, the top one should be in 'serial-based receiver (SPKSAT, SBUS, SUMD)' the second dropdown underneath should be 'CRSF' - thats crossfire - this should solve your problem.
and this vid is if you have the sticks in the wrong locations: ruclips.net/video/7ZUe-sC7mmU/видео.html
I’ve done the setup in beta flight still no movement
ok - in ports - have you set the UART you have used - turned on 'serial Rx' - if crossfire is on TX3 / RX3 - its UART3 - tx/rx2 - its UART2 etc etc - try that
I have it on uart 1 I’m using the T motor F7 mini serial rx is on

@@TheMetalSandman you just take the radio apart and remove the antenna. Replace it with a U.FL to SMA whip and close her back up

I have another question. How to change vtx power from tango 2?
thank you!

Where is acro mode on betaflight?
Hey - great question... there isn't a acro mode in betaflight at all... just set up horizon or stable mode on a rocker switch, 1 and 2 - and the 3rd position is nothing... that is acro.. or just don't add any mode of horizon / stable etc and your quad will be complete acro.... hope that sort of explains it.

I updated my radio and now my drone doesn’t want to bind , it’s blinking blue and showing that it’s in progress but it’s not binding
hey - this sounds like you have updated the controller but you will also need to update the receivers / nanos in the quads too. There is a firmware update for the controller though that stops you from updating the nanos... I've done this myself and had to downgrade the firmware on the controller.
