Thank you! I don't have the means to use what you've got as I didn't level certain archetypes on certain characters how you did. I ended up doing this: Hulkenberg - Masked Dancer Junah - Masked Dancer Levi (protag) - Prince Basilio - Berserker (could've been optimised but hey it worked) We're all level 68/69 apart from Junah who was lvl 64 I gave Basilio rakunda and gave Levi the heavy magic dark damage and same with Hulkenberg. I basically used the enchanted pottage and some other foods that basically did a heat riser, and another food that group cured hex and gave us all 100mp. I would use Sable Dance to give them a one time weakness to darkness and when I'm buffed up (and if the dragon has been debuffed twice, but not 100% required) I hit them with charged up darkness. Was super intense doing it a different way, not knowing if it'd work, but thankyou for the guide!
Great vid, i just needed to use the magic boosting passives. One more tip if you wanna squeeze out more free turns: use faker's roguery on the first turn with heismay and keep retrying battle until it gives you four free extra turns in the beginning. This little extra was enough for me to beat the dragon at lvl 55 with just implanting wind weakness with junah, 2x attack buffing with hulkenberg, 2x defence down on boss with heismay and using Emerald vortex with protag with elemental master. Might be better to use prince if you want even more turns tho. Was able to kill on the second set of turns like this before he even got to attack without any food buffs.
To all struggling there is a ring that you can give to Heismay called the dodgers ring that makes it so that if he dodges an attack it takes all press turns from the boss. You must get the extra items from the magic shop from Alonzo's social link and it will be there at night. Also use debilitate on the boss so that it misses more often. Make sure Heismay has high agility and also if you have the ring that uses less press turns for synthesis I would try to spam royal sword as much as possible with the order from general that buffs attack. This strategy can be used for all the bosses in the game including the true final boss which is much harder than this one.
"Don't use someone weak to dark!" >Uses Destroyer. If you were playing Hard you'd be destroyed. You better follow your own advice if you want to try this again on that difficulty.
Had to reset vs this boss a few times as I used prince with charge to 2 shot it in one turn using double faker. Trying to kill this boss "slow" or trying to tank it just isn't an easy option as it has the ability to give itself 4+ turn counters if you take too long. Buffing past +2 isn't a good option either as it just unleashes a turn of hell on you if you do. Doesn't help that I was only level 61 during this fight. One shotting it is just a much easier option out of the ones given.
This boss took me by surprise because I was one turning the dragons with Strohl on Hard and then this guy comes around and reflects Slash so Strohl suicided lol. I just ended up just switching Strohl to Destroyer with Almighty and then one turn him that way.
This boss sucks. Feels like you have to have a very specific setup and pray RMG doesnt cheat you. Got him down to one hit with no status full health with aggro to one unit with full dodge spec and he decided to flatten my party and crit. Level 70 on NG hard. Just feels unfair.
Yeah... felt like an annoying gimmick boss. I was really looking forward to this having an endgame, but outside the dragon fights, and one NG+ fight theres nothing here.
I bought a full stack of the bath salts that up magic so I had stopped around 80ish since theres lots of stat gear that can take you to 99, but I also played this on easy, and used buffs if that helps. Also NG+ and 2 of the narcissus accessories from defeating Milo for +15 mag and luck on Junah and Eupha
Thanks for the tips. This one was a doozy. I ended up beating it with Prince / Paladin / PM / Tycoon. Level 64 at the time. Kept the 2 defense up, kept his defense and agility at -2 (dekaja'd on PM a lot to waste his turns). Paladin healed/cleansed (poison cleanse food was nice here) and occasionally taunted (getting random blocks on Poison Tail helped too). Tycoon carried hard (oddly enough, the first time I actually used it lol). Got the silly 100k reeve on attacks achievement for my trouble, too. Just grinded him out that way. Prince Royal Sword if he could swing it, otherwise just Formation, and Sukunda. Kind of greasy, but it worked :) Great fight, though. It's nice that turn-based games can still have genuinely difficult fights without feeling unfair. Felt like I just beat Radahn or somethin' :D
This comment helped me inadvertantly, this boss is mad dumb. If you ever give yourself +3 to everything, or the boss -3 to everything the AI for the boss causes it to get +6 turns. It ONLY does that if you overbuff + overdebuff the boss, when I didn't buff myself to +3 or debuff the boss to -3, it never did it.
Is it possible to defeat him before the final battle with Louis? I ask because I obviously don't have enough magla to pump up all the necessary skills for this tactic, and all the quests are already finished 10 days before the final battle. Or will I have a chance after the battle with Louis?
Yeah this art is interesting in some of the main dungeons, but it falls off hard outside of the demo content. I was kind of like, why is this getting such good reviews, and my guess is that the people who posted such reviews did so without either A playing the game, or under some kind of agreement to put a positive spin on it. I am pretty much done with the entire RUclips economy with regard to reviews at this point. Its not a bad game, but its an Atlus game with no end-game, and its too derivative from its other properties. To call it a third pillar, like its somehow different, is just incorrect. ***Potential Spoilers*** The worst part about this game is all the interruptions from the fairy, and how attempting to give those interruptions "reasons" for occurring, directly conflicts with the narrative the game is giving you multiple times, thusly making the plot feel completely disjointed and bad. The complete bonehead move to have this like evil shadow senate, and then not use most of its members in any meaningful way, while having one of the main antagonists literally necromancy himself back to life was annoying. The "final" dungeon, you get to Lewis yet again, and the bitch just flies even higher into the sky. There were some parts that felt fresh with a party member and even an antagonist dying. I was honestly thrilled when Lewis seemed to die, but the magic protecting the candidates was pure plot armor at times. For instance Glodell dies from attacking us, but early in the game you can absolutely attack Fordens right hand dude who is obviously high up in the rankings, and nothing happens to you. Maybe because the Kings magic favors the magical ghost consciousness of the prince more than him? Who knows. The whole, you are just magic personified, and then you like merge with the prince, but then like, he doesn't change at all somehow back to retaining some of his original personality, perhaps because it was him all along felt so bad. Like this contest and all the actions are just to keep the established power, and its lineage the default. Just all around a disappointing dumpster fire, with samey dungeons, terrible balancing around levels (pretty much the same trash system from SMT V, which was fixed some in Vengeance, but not completely redeemed) mostly boring standard characters, a few definite good ideas, but at the end of the day this game is just part of Sega's influence over Atlus in the most negative way possible. I can't help but fear that "new" archetypes (Hello DDS 1 and 2), and an endgame will be baked into the penultimate edition. After seeing the absolute boring waifu good girl vs bad girl nonsense that SMT Vengeance added to its mix, I am thoroughly done with re-releases as well. These games just don't want to be canon, its an illusion of a choose your own adventure novel that ends the same way regardless while spewing arbitrary decisions at you, and an ideal utopian society, ala mirroring the MC and Lewis, and how that could be potentially good or bad actually depending on who wins. The only decent re-release Atlus had ever done was Persona 4 Golden. Frankly Sega with Persona and Yakuza and now Metaphor series are becoming boring games with small maps, with way too much talking and grinding in between that appears not to be checked against the plot, in order to give the illusion of a long game, that gaslights you into thinking there is lots of content, when there actually isn't. That being said, its still above average when compared to most. I love games, I have a huge collection of them, I have played RPGs since I was old enough to walk, but I have a strong feeling that Sega isn't going to learn its lesson if its customers don't learn how to control their wallets, especially if those customers take advice from any mainstream RUclipsrs. Japan, wake up. This game is really just another devolution into the Friendship Saves Earth trope, no matter how many game of thrones moments you tried to add. If you didn't hire George RR Martin, to give context and lore to these events, then they are meaningless spectacle. Also all the games about racism, where everyone is the same race, and just had horns or some shit, coming from a 99% ethnocentric society makes you look really dumb. So dumb, especially considering how you treat foreigners who want to move there. You can't teach the world to be better, when you aren't actively as a society trying to be better yourselves. Save your awful messaging regarding Utopia, and making Japan the actual Meta when More attacks us in a mostly pointless symbolic battle, whos point is to say, umm video games are good because they aren't reality so buy more Sega and Atlus properties, makes not only Japan itself, but also Atlus, Sega, and its customers, look like clowns that should take the games advice and find something better to do.
