Easily my favorite weapon in the game. A heavy hitter at close range and a badass energy blast for ranged damage. With a unique skin and epic quest to get it, what's not to love?
I remember the first time I reached the chamber with the sword puzzle...the scenery felt so alien in comparison with other ruins, was kinda creeped out but in a good way.

Viro That is such an ongoing trademark of From Software. Most of you think of Demon and Dark Souls, but I think the first version was Armored Core with the moonlight blade? Maybe it was from their PS1 era RPG as well though?
Exactly you can play with this blade on legendary at level one but you can't beat any of the opponents in Apocrypha with it (by energy beams alone on Legendary). The energy beams doesn't level my 2 handed skill either.
A lot of people are playing Skyrim for the first time. If you were 10-15 when Skyrim first came out, you are now 15-20. That is a large selection of people who haven't played the game.
A friend of mine encountered a highly beneficial bug with this sword. He had been using the Bloodskal Blade temporarily until he could get around to acquiring the Ebony Blade. When he finally got the Ebony Blade, he switched to it, and for some reason retained the Bloodskal's unique effect, on top of the abilities the Ebony Blade gets.
Shame this sword doesn't fully work while companions equip it. Would be cool to see Lydia or Mjoll burning the enemies with that laser thing the sword emits.
the energy wave is enlarged with the two hand perk that enhances the aoe of the swing favorite 2H weapon for me by far also looks great with a daedric set!

Worth noting that this is essentially the only melee weapon that you can kill the boss of this dungeon (Zahkiisos) with, since he spends most of the fight hovering over a pool of water. The energy blasts even deal bonus damage to him.
The Dragonborn DLC is full of interesting weapons, armour and dungeons. Bloodskal Blade, Champion's Cudgel, Miraak's Staff, Ahzidal's armour pieces, Kagrumez (dungeon) just to name a few. Absolutely brilliant dlc all round.
This quest that comes with this weapon might have the best rewards of any quest in Skyrim. You get the third word of dragon aspect (which is the best shout in the game), a new ebony mine, a badass blade, a new black book and a OP dragonpreist mask.
It's probably a reference to it. A bright unique blade color, is a great sword, and it shoots beems of energy. Very few swords in gaming match that description.

Camelworks I was really excited to use this back on 360, finally did and was really let down when I found the energy wave couldn't even kill a fox outright :/
Hello there, I'd just like to amend a quick bit of info at the beginning of the video (sorry). To gain passage Ravenrock you don't have to meet with the gray beards. simply go to Windhelm and speak to the captain (who's name i cannot spell to save my life) and pay him for the ride. The cultists won't be there but the people on the island will still be under the influence of miraak. Luckily for us you can still unlock shouts without the gray beards' help. So you can still aquire the bloodskald blade if you are interested in a play through that avoids the whole "being dragonborn" story.
You technically don't have to wait to talk to the Greybeards to get to Solstheim. I like heading there right out of the gate to get Ralis working on Kolbjorn Barrow ASAP.
It is cool af, yeah. Which makes it even worse. 30 Dmg? You know how much health a level 1 Bandit has? 35. The weakest Dragon? About 900... on that account... it is pretty neat that the enchantment never runs out of charge.
The Base-DMG on the other hand is quite good. On par with the Glass Greatsword iirc, but not as heavy. Unlike the Glass one however it won't benefit from a smithing perk. And that sucks. Then again.... this is Skyrim. Who cares, just use what looks cool and everything is okay.
Yeah, I know that there's a fix on pc but I don't have a computer to run Skyrim on. I hope the mod's out by the time I get SE so I can make a true vampire hunter build or something like that

I would like to take a moment to point out that all Silver Weapons in Skyrim SE upgrade with the Silver Ingot, even if these weapons can only be obtained by killing Silver Hand members or crafting them yourself.
I figured out what I was supposed to do to open the door right away; what took me forever was figuring out you can move side to side to change the direction of your power swing!

+pixelman619 1. "Camelworks what is up with u Skyrim RUclipsrs ur all just re doing ur old vids" - I can't speak for other RUclipsrs. However, I've never made a video on this before, nor have I made videos before on any of my recent Skyrim videos I have made or will make. 2. "which for us that have been here awhile is annoying u could just point others to ur old vids" - Again, I haven't made these videos before. 3. "it not like anything is really different only the lighting was updated all the quests and items are the same" That is correct, regardless of there being no new content, these are all new videos for this channel. 4. "sorry it just feels like u r being lazy in ur vids" - I don't know if you have ever edited videos for 14 hours a day, 7 days a week but no aspect of it is lazy. 5. "plus u have some things wrong in ur vid anyway u can be lvl 10 without even touching the main quest to get to Solstheim" - Although that may be true, in most cases meeting The Grey Beards is quicker than reaching level 10. I never said it was the only way, I simply chose to show the most optimal method. 6. "that and u can upgrade silver swords with silver ingots so the Bloodskal Blade isn't the only one" - This is not true, silver weapons in Skyrim CAN NOT be upgraded. Leaving the Bloodksal Blade as the ONLY weapon that is upgraded with the use of a silver ingot. I'm sure there is a mod for it, if you wish to change this fact. Although I appreciate your concern, it is moot. This is all fresh content for me and my channel, I do my best to make sure I give all of the correct information. Sometimes information will be wrong, sorry lad, but I'm human and sometimes I make mistakes. However, that is not the case in this video.
Hydroxical I have it for both my PC and Xbox 360, with 1000+ hours played on the 360 and 735 hours on the PC. Around 500 hours of those 700 is from playing/testing different mods, so I gotta say that I "played" the game more on console. Don't know if I enjoyed it as much on PC though (even if it's great!).
SUPER late reply, but here Imbued Weapons mod (it lets you use the effect on any bladed weapon and probably more): www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32237 Regular Skyrim www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3427 Special Edition
I saw quite a few people ask the same questions: No you can't un-enchant it for something else The enchantment blast won't work if you use a cheat to get the sword, it's not a real hard quest and you get to read a black book at the end
sadly it's pretty much useless on higher difficulty. Simply because you can't upgrade it to decent damage. and the energy wave damage is neglible, too. you pretty much have to turn difficulty down to very easy to get kills like shown in the video.
nope.....ur the one whose not good with the sword.....everything is useful if u know how to use it correctly against ur foe.......and how u plan a strategy to use it....
Fractured Ray Lmao stfu. Of course everything can be good “if you know how to use it” that doesn’t negate the fact that there a better weapons than this one as they do the same but without trying to make it work
Camelworks..... Are there no other doors that need this sword to open it? It seems a bit impractical to make a sword that only opens one door.... maybe they had plans for it besides being a bad ass weapon. One of My favorites :3
A side note, if you dube the bloodskal blade and drop the dupe and pick it up again it will sometimes permanently glitch and give the laser to all 2 handed swords
The bloodskall blade reminds me of the fierce deity sword from The Legend of Zelda, Majoras Mask. Not the way the blade looks but the fact that you shoot blade beams out of them
Unique ? Yeah.. Useful ? nope.. This thing is shi$ got it really early in the game at level 25 or 30 (don't really remember) .. Used it for a little while than completely abandoned it.
Spooky_bean c: true.. I was just saying it isn't as cool and powerful as it should be. Bathesda should've made this harder to get like at lv 50 or something and give this sword mind blowing damage.
Except you are supporting it by clicking on the video, if you don't want to see more of it then don't bother watching the video. It seems that common sense isn't so common.
You actually dont need to talk to the gray beards the second you get out of the tutorial area you can just grab a cart to windhelm and talk to the owner of the boat.
Quick trick if you hate having your weapon shot out of your hands due to that dumb disarm shout that dose not just force your weapon back into your inventory but shoots you one and only maxed out legendary weapon across the room and through the floor Then all you need to do is NEVER compleat this quest never give the old dude back the book and the sword will remain a quest item unable to be disarmed or removed from you
Just so you know, you don't have to do any prerequisite quests to go to solstheim. Just travel to windhelm and pay the same guy that would take you there if you had the quest.
I will never unsee this weapon as the weapon level 19 frisk uses in glitchtale. Both of them shoot deadly lasers and are fairly powerful weapons. I genuinely couldnt help but hum True L.O.V.E. When I used it.

Yesssss ! A full series on Skyrim unique weapons !~
can someone create a mod that adds this blades effect as a base enchantment or if it exists let me know
quite a few mods have a bloodskal effect on the nexus
But as far as I know it's only for PC, since it requiers scripts.
Jonathan Thörn Skyrim on console isn't worth it, I have it on 360, wish I had it on pc.
SUPER late reply, but here
Imbued Weapons mod (it lets you use the effect on any bladed weapon and probably more):
www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/32237 Regular Skyrim
www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/3427 Special Edition
I saw quite a few people ask the same questions:
No you can't un-enchant it for something else
The enchantment blast won't work if you use a cheat to get the sword, it's not a real hard quest and you get to read a black book at the end
so who doesnt already know how to get this weapon, this DLC come out in 2013.
For the people that just started playing skyrim when remastered came out.
Gnar The Missing Link
that 1 person.
Its an excuse to make videos basically.
MrAnimepredator You mean all those console players?
I never knew it existed ;-;
Camel, your puns hurt me on an physical level.
One of the few if not the only interesting unique weapon. Too bad though that you can't take that enchantment and put it on a weapon of choice.
that wouldn't make it unique then. I see your point though
There was a bug when I switched my two handed weapon wherein my normal TH sword started to have the same enchantment of the Bloodskaal Blade.
What about ghostblade? Or the blade of woe?
What I like about this weapon is that the effect isn't an enchantment and doesn't run out!!!
sadly it's pretty much useless on higher difficulty.
Simply because you can't upgrade it to decent damage. and the energy wave damage is neglible, too.
you pretty much have to turn difficulty down to very easy to get kills like shown in the video.
i use it on legendary but ok then
in the game you can get almost any weapon to a "decent" damage for higher difficulties using some alchemy and enchanted gear for smithing
The Wooden sword is the strongest weapon.
nope.....ur the one whose not good with the sword.....everything is useful if u know how to use it correctly against ur foe.......and how u plan a strategy to use it....
Fractured Ray Lmao stfu. Of course everything can be good “if you know how to use it” that doesn’t negate the fact that there a better weapons than this one as they do the same but without trying to make it work
Actually you can just go to Ravenrock before even talking to Jarl Balgruuf. Just go to Windhelm first thing, talk to the captain, etc.
One time I put my ebony blade on a weapon rack. I've never seen it since
Cinders 1 like=1 prayer and 1 share=1 love I cri everytiem
when u put it on weapon rack it somehow drop it rather stay on weapon rack......find it all u can :D
Camel why the hell did I just find this? Good too see you again man.
Camelworks..... Are there no other doors that need this sword to open it?
It seems a bit impractical to make a sword that only opens one door.... maybe they had plans for it besides being a bad ass weapon. One of My favorites :3
I think they made the door to force the player to see what the sword can do :)
True, but I mean, really, just for one door... or one quest T.T
Ravonies Ravenshir it's a door with a unique key. makes a lot of sense
It does, but still I wish there were more doors for this key to open...
It's more the door was built for the sword, and not the sword was built for opening doors.
This dragonborn figures out how to open the gate with the Sword in minutes.
Big brain time
just wish the energy blast damage could be upgraded ..but still love this sword
A side note, if you dube the bloodskal blade and drop the dupe and pick it up again it will sometimes permanently glitch and give the laser to all 2 handed swords
Wait I thought the special edition didn't come with anything new.
ThatOneGuy this isn't new
Damn that sucks
The bloodskall blade reminds me of the fierce deity sword from The Legend of Zelda, Majoras Mask. Not the way the blade looks but the fact that you shoot blade beams out of them
I saw it more as zangetsu from bleach
Unique ? Yeah.. Useful ? nope.. This thing is shi$ got it really early in the game at level 25 or 30 (don't really remember) .. Used it for a little while than completely abandoned it.
Dark Mist that doesn't mean other people don't find it useful
Spooky_bean c: true..
I was just saying it isn't as cool and powerful as it should be.
Bathesda should've made this harder to get like at lv 50 or something and give this sword mind blowing damage.
Otaku Syndrome so, make it a super over powered weapon...yeah no. You start the Dragonborn dlc at earliest level 5.
@@coolioschoolio4359and? You can get the champions cudgel early too and it’s the strongest weapon in the game with the strongest enchantment
@@chilairearts4238 Bro, I’m gonna be real. I made this comment when I was 13.
Now that's a cool sword.
Great video.
I really hate seeing good creators milk views with guides on a 5 year old game. THIS INFO IS ALREADY OUT THERE! and has been for years
Skyrim videos are going to suck for a while now. Curious to see who steps up their game by creating new content, instead of rehashing.
Except you are supporting it by clicking on the video, if you don't want to see more of it then don't bother watching the video. It seems that common sense isn't so common.
***** You have to watch at least one video from a channel to know what it's about. Obviously we won't watch all the videos.
Or you know, read the title of the video...
***** Don't be racist.
so in solitude at the end of a dock there is dude sitting named jolf and you can hire himas a boat to take you to dawn star or windhelm
You actually dont need to talk to the gray beards the second you get out of the tutorial area you can just grab a cart to windhelm and talk to the owner of the boat.
0:08 fairly sure the dragonborn has taken an arrow to the knee
before you even said it I knew that you used the FM build. nice guide.
This is my favourite weapon in the Skyrim and my first character's weapon of choice for much of the late game.
Quick trick if you hate having your weapon shot out of your hands due to that dumb disarm shout that dose not just force your weapon back into your inventory but shoots you one and only maxed out legendary weapon across the room and through the floor
Then all you need to do is NEVER compleat this quest never give the old dude back the book and the sword will remain a quest item unable to be disarmed or removed from you
Bloodskal is my favourite two handed weapon
You actually don't need to visit the Grey Beards to travel to Solsthiem. You can head to Windhelm straight from Helgen if you want.
Just so you know, you don't have to do any prerequisite quests to go to solstheim. Just travel to windhelm and pay the same guy that would take you there if you had the quest.
One of my favorite weapons in the game
I will never unsee this weapon as the weapon level 19 frisk uses in glitchtale. Both of them shoot deadly lasers and are fairly powerful weapons. I genuinely couldnt help but hum True L.O.V.E. When I used it.
That gate is probably the best puzzle in the game
Everyone you can travel to Solstheim without doing any of the main quest line. It was a simple mistake on Camel's Part, so don't be too mad at him he's pretty chill 👌
this quickly became my favorite non-crafted weapon.
You can also go to solstheim without doing the quest!
