I don't think the Ebony Blade was ever meant to be improved at the grindstone. If you read through the book Admonition Against Ebony, the book you'll find sitting right next to the blade in Dragonsreach, the book details that "Not even the hottest fires of the Skyforge could melt it; indeed the coals themselves seemed to cool when it was placed within".
you are right it wasnt a bug but still changed by unoffical patch... I suggesting you to if you seek balance or want lore dont use smithing on this sword. In truth one-handed two-handed wasnt a bug too... it was a kind of hybrid sword that can have very unique and powerfull build. It was very powerfull for people that want to lvl their 2 handed to unlock talents but their main weapon tree is one handed :/
in offical verison it benefits from first perk piece of one handed instead of two handed... as I rembember all other two handed perks benefit it . also more one handed you have more damage it deals too. So damage=one handed Side effects=Two-handed It was perfect for those who wanted to lvl two handed before resetting skill tree was a thing :P Now no doubt its more stronger and effective but it was not supposed to be like this. This sword is two handed sword with one handed speed :D

It's not supposed to be upgradable. The actual book next to it says it cannot be improved through smithing. The unofficial patch fixes what wasn't supposed to be fixed.
My Hentai Girl ...I can see why. Health Absorb is probably one of the most powerful Enchantment, and since it had such high absorption, I can see how overpowering a player could be, but then again, there are some enemies that are immune to it.
Not only can it not be improved by smithing, it cannot be damaged by any means. To the point that trying to melt it in a fire will just cool down the fire (which is why it can't be improved by smithing).
Another way to charge it that in a way is beating Mephala at her own game is to take advantage of people who attack you later on even though you can befriend them beforehand (in combination with the reanimation trick, of course): an example is the Argonian Jaree-Ra and his sister Deeja, who both register for the ebony blade during their quest "Light's Out." That's what I did to power the blade without any extra/unnecessary deaths, meaning I sacrificed effectively nothing and beat Mephala at her own game. (^_^)
There's potentially 9 targets with the other Daedric quests also (one to three less if you don't want to kill Eola and/or her band, one less if you want the Ring of Hircine instead of Saviour's Hide, otherwise even Vigilant Tyranus counts), and quite a few (practically half the targets) if you join the Dark Brotherhood... and seven if you decide to destroy it instead. This way you could potentially even fill up the blade with nothing but evil folks even.
@@Sacremas I would say that would still please Mephala as well. You're still subverting the trust of your victims; their own morality and goals are irrelevant. Nevermind that the Dark Brotherhood are sworn enemies of the Morag Tong, who swear upon Mephala as their patron god.

*Quite possibly the best weapon in game once min-maxed.* If used on a vampire, in conjunction with necromage it's health steal is effected like all other enchants. -Also vamp + Necromage + Astronach perk + Atronach stone = 100% spell absorb = spell immunity -Used in conjunction with damage reduction cap armor The necessary min maxing takes very little work, aside from leveling alteration to 100, which is easily accomplished. With *unlimited* 37 hp life steal, while immune to all harmful magic and damage reduction capped at 80% you become quite nearly unkillable using this weapon. The amount of damage you take is negligible given how fast this weapon swings in conjunction with the unlimited health steal which even effects targets who block the actual attack. Even on the highest possible game difficulty and the highest levels possible you become an unstoppable wrecking ball which slaughters everything in your path while maintaining nearly perfect hp. Even as a vampire in daylight conditions. Also of note, even without the resto potion exploit: simply by using alchemic gear to make the best smithing potions you can in conjunction with wearing a set of smithing gear, the damage potential of the ebony blade is quite high even if it will never reach the highest tier other weapons can by virtue of higher base damage. Still, the enchant it provides unlimited use of in conjunction with absolute spell immunity and 80% damage reduction armor cap means you will be nearly incapable of being killed so long as you're thrashing about like a berserker on a bad pcp trip. Oddly enough the ebony blade is remarkably similar to a weapon I got quite by chance in ES3 Morrowind. Early in one of my saves I was exploring the underground area of a city and came across a deadra shrine in the sewer system. the daedra lord just happened to have a deadric dai katana, one of th best melee weapons in the game. Fantastic stroke of luck that just happened to be what he was spawned with when I entered the sewers. I obviously kept the weapon and eventually I did enchant it with life steal. 50-60 hours of gameplay and a couple of xpacks of content later in morrowind I'd already done most of the quests, beat the official storyline as the nerevarine and was doing the various long chain quests. I was at the very end of the priesthood quest where you meet Vivec in the city of Vivec. Now, that was the only time you actually get to meet Vivec in person, a legitimate God... so.... I decided to put a save and find out how powerful he was. Sure enough, I killed him. Using a weapon which the ebony blade is almost identical to in form and function. It was pretty much then I had discovered how OP I'd managed to make my character without really knowing. It's one thing to kill NPCs with a fair amount of ease: it's quite another to kill a God of the Tribunal... That was the last time I played that particular save. Still, gives me a certain amount of nostalgia to use the ebony blade in skyrim. Chopping heads off and seeing that red gleam of hp flood towards me "Ah, this reminds me of that time I killed a God of the tribunal in his own palace of his own city. Good times.... good times."

I used the Ritual Stone to repeatedly raise a peasant who had died in a dragon attack. 100% Ebony Blade and not an innocent drop of blood spilled. That's appropriate in a way, since I betrayed Mephala herself. Anyway, the Ebony Blade is one of my favorite weapons. Its damage is not high, but it basically makes you unkillable so long as you're hitting your enemies with it, and unlike other enchanted weapons, never needs a recharge!
If you have completed the questline for the Storncloak Rebellion, then this changes how the questline for the Ebony Blade is done. Jarl Balgruf is no longer in Dragonsreach, but hear me out. Once you get the questline about Balgruf's children, you can find him imprisoned in Solitude's Blue Palace. Just go inside and to the left of the stairs going up. You will find a staircase going down into a lower floor. This is where you will find Balgruf. He will still move the quest on to the next part, where you will then go speak with Nelkir, who is also in the Blue Palace with his father. Then you have to go to Dragonsreach and find the door. Once you have spoken with the Whispering Lady, you have to go back to Solitude. Speak to Nelkir again, and he will mention there being a key on Balgruf and one on Farengar. Don't bother trying to get the key from his father, as his back will be practically inaccessible for a pickpocket. Instead, go back to Dragonsreach and find Farengar. He is in his usual place at Dragonsreach, either in his enchanting room, stuffing his face in the main hall, or in his bedroom asleep. He is an easy pickpocket, but it makes things easier if you save the game just before attempting. Once you have the key, go back to the door... Door opens, and you get your very own Ebony Blade and a book with no other benefit, but to read and possibly keep as a written memento to put on a bookshelf.
Haha I’m replaying with a new character and that’s exactly what I’m doing Their life bar drains pretty quick Also edit: make sure you take off the ebony mail if you’re grinding for friendly npc charges because I think the kill has to come from the ebony blade, but the ebony mail will steal the kill
you can give a coin to a beggar and they will consider you a friend, way back when (5 years ago) when i used this weapon i found you could just give them a coin and then kill them - it will charge the balde
Fun fact: there is a weapon sharing the model with the Ebony Blade. Test Vorpal Sword. It can only be obtained from the Console Comand, and has 10000 base damage, capable of one-shotting everything that lives.
I just overcame the evil tendacies of the ebony blade and I'm now using it in a much better light. Redefining it into a weapon of eternal peace and infinite strength. It's previous influence is now officially gone. The Ebony Blade is no longer Mephala's. It now belongs to me
I would complain that there's the fact you kill a dragon with some Whiterun Guards and such, but it is odd to get anyone even the Dragonborn to help them out.
I dont think the dragonborn is strange in their world. I mean they can be a bit loud maybe even talk in some weird language from time to time, but nothing too strange
As part of my in game role play: I took the blade, fast traveled to the farthest cold & watery part of the map, and chucked into the ocean. My character also had max & multiple enchanted items, so really what was the point in her bs offer to my lesser god build character
I tend not to play sociopath-esque characters, but I love the idea of a thief or someone snagging the key, opening the door, picking up the blade and after Mephala's just like "Now go kill your friends." they're just like "Nah, but thanks for the sword. It'll look awesome on my wall. Anyway, later bitch!" and just walk out. Hell, I wish there were a conclusion like that for the quest, kinda like there are for the Dagon and Azura quests, and to a bit of a lesser extent, Clavicus Vile's. I mean I'm sure there are a few others that give you the option of pissing off the prince, but I'm yet to play those.
*NOTE:* In addition to the level requirement of 20, you also have to progress through the early stages of the Main Quest, basically to the point of being appointed Thane of Whiterun. After that, talk to Hulda. You might have to take a bounty quest before the "rumors" dialogue option becomes available. If you have Creation Club/Anniversary Edition content enabled, you might have to activate some of those as well. "Missing Merchant", "Bones for a Crow", any that require talking to an innkeeper.

Its damage is not high, but it basically makes you unkillable so long as you're hitting your enemies with it, and unlike other enchanted weapons, never needs a recharge!
6:15 "The easiest way to do this is to wait until He is asleep and then take full advantage of Him..."
*"F.B.I OPEN UPPP!!!"*
It's vengeance for what he did to Odahving
Damn this video was recommended to me after years of playing Skyrim 😭😭😭 the memories it holds just make me want to cry its really hearwarming 😭😭😢
Ebony blade and ebony chainmail together makes you godly
Haha I’m replaying with a new character and that’s exactly what I’m doing
Their life bar drains pretty quick
Also edit: make sure you take off the ebony mail if you’re grinding for friendly npc charges because I think the kill has to come from the ebony blade, but the ebony mail will steal the kill
you can give a coin to a beggar and they will consider you a friend, way back when (5 years ago) when i used this weapon i found you could just give them a coin and then kill them - it will charge the balde
Looks good with Nightingale Armor and so does Mehrunes Razor
You can also use a beggar as a sacrifice. Once you've given him enough gold.
1
1 gold
you bought his soul for 1 gold
There's also the Meeko the dog.
@@whitewolf3051 bruh
@@inferno009 What?! What's wrong with killing Meeko, especially if you don't like dogs like me?
Bethesda really went cheap on these daedric princes voices, mephala's voice is lydia's, meridia and boethia share the same voice as well.
True but something as important as daedric princes should not have common voices.
Omega Naricisus You clearly haven't played oblivion then..
Skyrim only has 20 voice actors I think
ItsZeno actually they had about 80 voice actorss
martianoverlord wants1000subs Oblivion had like 12 voice actors
Fun fact: there is a weapon sharing the model with the Ebony Blade.
Test Vorpal Sword. It can only be obtained from the Console Comand, and has 10000 base damage, capable of one-shotting everything that lives.
I have the ebony mail, now I have what what I need to be complete.
Thanks for everything.
0:09 that was perfectly synced
I just overcame the evil tendacies of the ebony blade and I'm now using it in a much better light. Redefining it into a weapon of eternal peace and infinite strength. It's previous influence is now officially gone. The Ebony Blade is no longer Mephala's. It now belongs to me
The ebony blade is so underrated. I use it as my main cause of its permanent health drain
The benefit from the wrong weapon type have been fixed in the OFFICIAL patch too.
Ah yes, Skyrim. The only place where a strange adult investigating your children is a welcome thing instead of huge disturbing red flag....
Ever heard of Rasputin and Tsarevich Alexei? That's this level of weirdness x 1000.
Naming your kid Nelkir is a recipe for disaster.
As part of my in game role play: I took the blade, fast traveled to the farthest cold & watery part of the map, and chucked into the ocean.
My character also had max & multiple enchanted items, so really what was the point in her bs offer to my lesser god build character
Leonardo Huizar i mean. You kinda wasted your time didn’t you?
Then there really was no point then was there?
LeoHwzr and ur telling us this because?...
NeCROWmancer you can Attempt to Piss off that Hunter one when he sends you to kill sinding but even if you dont kill sinding he is still proud of you
I love how you and fudgemuppet pretty much work together lol
I love watching you and Fudgemuppet work off each other. I hope you could eventually do some work with Gamer Poet as well, that would be amazing.
Hey y'all! ( I'm never saying y'all again). Thanks for watching and remember to check out Fudgemuppet here - ruclips.net/video/P6wG-cO5q-E/видео.html
Camelworks what armor mod were you using ?
That blade is giving me a e-bony
SuperOxideDimutase i hope not
Have u made a vid or something for what graphic mods u are using for se?
Camelworks Am I able to get the blade even if I sided with the Stormcloaks?
The weapon is wonderful early game especially for its lifesteal effect but the damage later on just sucks
Maybe try using the ebony mail armor with the blade you will see a difference
Fun fact:if you glitch through the door it's just a bedside cabinet there
so it pretty much does 41 damage with a level one two handed skill?
And heals you for 30. Also it's faster than any other 2-handed weapon, so it has higher dps than most.
WTF?! Mine does 15pts damage and steals 100pts health! (playing on Xbox360!!)
What's the best level to decide and get the weapon? I wanna make sure I don't get the low-level version. Is it level 46?
@@greypolarbear Level 20.
Looks very badass with the nightingale armor.
One of the best weapons in the game and definitely one of my favorites. Super long time to make it powerful at it's max potential though
Not really. Kill a follower, resurrection with one of the stone powers, rest a day, repeat.
Just added the ebony blade to my samurai build. Its badass
Despite this weapon being my favourite, I've always found it to be too OP
BloodBathGaming Guy then don't kill friendly npc
What do you mean? I'm talking about when you get the weapon to full Strength
BloodBathGaming Guy so what do you expect from Daedric Artifact?
In Skyrim the deadric artifacts were incredibly underpowered. So you do the math and tell me what I expect
BloodBathGaming Guy there is a mod on PC and Xbox that makes them way better
I’d probably get the homeless guy in Ivarstead.
He has a quest I think, but that may be someone he knows.
For me it was easy my character was an orc I just went and killed two to three orc fortresses was kinda fun...
"Missing Merchant", "Bones for a Crow", any that require talking to an innkeeper.
the saturation and textures are BEAUTIFUL, what mods are you using for these, Camel?
You can find my full mod list here! twitter.com/Camelworks/status/828445318999994368
@@Camelworks wtf did you do to ballingruuf
Ebony blade is my favorite its the fact its a nodochi or a two handed katana..keep up the pores brah they are pretty entertaining and sometimes very funny
"Fixed"? Part of the description of the blade in the book next to it is that it could not be melted it in the Skyforge, so I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to be able to upgrade it XD
That's like getting a mod that allows you to levitate and saying someone fixed that magic class, in spite of their being lore for why no one uses it lol
Play Morrowind then you'll know why theres no levitating
Where was this video when I needed it a month ago
Whispering Lady is a box literally a box
Every time we hear something from NPCs they tell us "Don't go there" and instantly we have a quest marker telling us to "Go there"
well... from 8:45 -9:30... sounds like someone is using Mephala's vibrator
Oh lord lol
😂😂
Lmao
0:27 ik it’s meant to be a bad pun but I always hear it as him calling us a neek
what mod do you sure to make the game look soo good?
I love this blade. Reminds me of Sephiroth’s sword from FF
"You little psychopath go to the naughty corner" meanwhile the little boy like - 😈😈😈
🚪🗝🕴🏾
Respect for your mention of the dai-katana
I'm gonna need to know that mod for the bandits for research purposes
There is a secret cut version of this weapon that attacking a person with it doesn't count as assault.
what armor mods are you using? I'm not super into the gstring bandit look, its totally not congruent with the lore but some of the others are awesome. :)
I think skimpy armors
I found it randomly and quite early on my first playthrough. Used this as my primary.
How
You can make a samurai build in Skyrim would that sword and also me too cuz I play Skyrim
the pun "when he's asleep, take full advantage of him" cracked me up so bad i actually choked on the water and spat em all out onto my lap. wasnt a good experience
Does it matter if I did the stormcloak quest will it affect this quest?
nahh
As you'll have to talk to Jarl Ballin, sorry, Balgruuf, in Blue Palace (Solitude) instead of Dragonsreach (Whiterun), it doesn't affect your quest.
It also counts NPCs who have been deceiving their holds, not just peeps who consider your character as a friend
are you getting one handed executions with the Ebony Blade wtf
Looks like he’s using a mod that changes killcams
After 2000 hours of play through I just started one with an assassin using this blade . I am surprised it is working out as well as it is .
unique spelled wrong @ title
I'm super super incredibly late to the party on this one but...
HOLY F#@KING SHIT IS THIS THING OP!!
I can confirm that this quest can still be obtained even if Balgruuf is not Jarl!
How
Best two handed weapon, meta in any tanky class
The ebony blade is the most op weapon in the game hand down.
THE ONLY VIDEO THAT DOES NOT CONTAIN A PUN OR PLAY ON WORD OF EBONY BLADE
MADNESS
I don't have that jarl..will it still work
sadly not
You can glitch it so you can get the weapon
XXX yes it can
This blade was specially designed for whiterun slaughters 😂
Fr
I wonder if I can get the ebony blade after I have joined the stormcloaks and Balgruuf isn't my jarl anymore. So can I get it even if Balgruuf isn't my jarl anymore?
Sith Lord Lars that is indeed a very interesting question
Sith Lord Lars Yes you can you just have to pickpocket him in the blue palace where he resides
Aaron Trott thx!
Seek ANdestroy yeah
You rebel dog!
fun fact about the Whispering Lady:
she is in fact a end table.
just clip through the door and you see a end table called the Whispering Table.
I wonder can you sacrifice those Forsworn from "The Forsworn Conspiracy" who are later found in a cave and are still friendly(not hostile) with you.
Why is the whispering ladies voice so hot
Haha
