It was a rise of authoritarian and totalitarian regimes, which banned any expression of ideas, ethics, morality, and history that was not expressly part of the official mythology. DeSantis, knowingly or not, is playing the same old authoritarian game. At that point motives no longer matter, it becomes *_a war against culture itself._* No values can stand when civil society itself is systematically disassembled and eventually destroyed.
What stage are we at here right now? He has gas lit the people of his state into thinking anyone wearing a mask is crazy or that people are teaching kids anti-white racism. The anti-white racism being reminiscent of Hitler’s belief in his fight against a fake Jewish enemy to protect German people. We know where that fight “in German known as kampf” went.

What really worries me is that no one is working on laws to prevent the revision of our own history. As we move into the era of digital distribution of all information on wireless and portable devices... What laws are in place to prevent a publisher from pushing updates that changes our own history? That's the kind of thing I would expect Americans to be worried about.

Even better if all or most of the entire student population chose to go elsewhere for college. Out of state students who for the moment are still learning the real history of our country might not want to have an altered version of history at a college level especially if they are planning to teach.

There are so many reasons I bailed from living in Florida years ago. Gave it a difficult try, but even in the 90s it proved not worth it. I can only imagine what it is like now. My old friends have done the same one by one.

I was talking with an older coworker at work. He is pretty much conservative. He talk and criticised about all these wokeness and i reply what sort of books being banned. We know why Disantes is doing what his doing. He was also an educator once, so him choosing this stance is absolutely not about Florida's youth and its future but his personal selfish political journey. We can not have watered-down history, good or bad it's our past and teaches progression and work to be done, and don't deprive the youth who are to make those very changes . These cultural wars are very divisive and make no sense because most are made up. Some are just misrepresented and not understood and that's how they take advange of of talking about things pre k kids will never learn because the subject is meant as an advanced class for law students We know the majority of floradians are of a certain demographic and race, so are in support of anything non change which would be scary to them at the same time Florida also has residents who know of change and ready to embrace change because their multi cultural and above all the young who are still learning and trusting to be given all the tools to navigate life and be able complete on fair grounds with the rest of the country thats not restrained in their learning... so Floradians need to stand up and say enough is enough, Disantes. choose another path to your presidential aspirations and the rest like him, not at the cost of our kids' futureua go seat down somewhere and write down some actual policies thst may actually help his agenda.
