Yes. I went through an old box of LCD watches. There were 5 and all of the bands had decomposed. 3 were dead - all no name $10 Walmart watches I wore at work. Two were alive and well despite the bands being in pieces...both Casio. I had 2 bands that fit so I replaced them. Wore one while mowing my grass. Excellent!
Watching this review reminded me of my Duro which hasn't been worn for awhile. Uncased it and when I did a time check I was amazed to see it was spot on. Remembered that it was part of a Casio group time check and looked at the picture's date. Wow, it was last set on Jan 9th 2024 and still good to the second.
I found my childhood casio from a store in the UK on Ebay and it's heading my way now! I've not seen this watch since I was 13! I can't wait to get it.
@@freddyfox5002ahhh Casio HD series. It stands for "High Durability" you know? All of them has polarising designs. I like the HD analog with metal bars for protection.
I love my DW-290,. There's something satisfying about its proportions that doesn't come across in photos. Also, I love that it's essentially a g-shock without the branding.
Also have modded my two tone black and gilt Duro to have a sapphire crystal with cyclops and a matching two tone bracelet. Bloody love Casio, to quote Nico: “God Tier”!
I'll add to the list the F105w, AE-1500h, W800h & W86. You can't go wrong with Casio. Fortunately I have 5 of them on the tier. AE-1200h, MDV-106, DW290/DW291h, DW5600, F91W & MRW200. Nice list.
Casios are great! I have a Duro and I love it (the only con for me is that it scratches fairly easily). My favorite Casio beater watch is the Casio Men's Tough Solar AQ-S810W-1AVCF (under $35 and more reliable than many of my fancier watches). Finally my favorite daily wear watch, the CASIO G-SHOCK GA-800.
I've got the AQ-S810W-1AVCF too (or something very similar; mine has gold trim/lettering.) Bought it as a cost effective backup to my garmin, then got frustrated with the garmin and just wear the casio! 😂
I have 6 of these 10. The SGW-100 is underrated, the display is one of the best outside of MIPs. The Duro is in another league, getting a nice rubber strap and putting a domed sapphire crystal in it improves the quality 10-fold; similar with the Royale and an SKXMod case. I've never failed at cleaning up my DW5600 after working with cement or paint. Great list, great video!
This was a great reminder of all the cool affordable watches that Casio make. Such a cool company. I am actually wearin a Casio now while watching that, even though I have many more expensive watches. There is just something about a Casio. ... speaking of that, the last one (with the sensors) and the shiny blue one are both speaking (calling) to me now dang it!!!
I have 2 of the mission ,I love the retro, Casio is budget friendly, and any Casio will look good. Thanks again. Was a great Casio content as always...
Love my Duro, it's been a daily for over 3 yrs(average size wrist). I'm VERY hard on watches, have NO scratches on the crystal. And I tend to bang mine almost daily on metal monos and shelving. A few scratches and a little ding on the aluminum insert, with minimal scratching on the case(hardly noticeable). I've spent more on straps then on the watch and Love it... Spends most of its time on a StrapCode 22mm Super-J Louis JUB Watch Band Straight End, 316L Stainless Steel Solid V-Clasp Button Double Lock. And while I know it wouldn't make this list I like the GBD-200... if only they came out with a solar version. Along that line I'd go G-Shock GWM5610(as it is Solar) which also doesn't make this list LOL
Casio is the KING of value, I’m actually rocking a one watcher. Of course the legendary lineage LCW-M100TSE-1AJF. Never looked back since and going through my first year strong 💪🏻
W93H is a total sleeper. I love Casio watches and have a pretty broad collection. On my 7.5" wrist I can get all the functions I want (dual time, stopwatch, countdown timer, alarms) at 0.05s/day accuracy and a sporty 36mm package for less than $25. I'm surprised it's not more popular than it is!
Great set of watches mentioned here. Really happy that i have the Duro, F91W and the MRW200H. Other casios that i own are the A168W, Gshock GA2100, Edifice EFV 100D (Black and White got both for around $50 each) and the Enticer 1381L. I believe that edifice range of casio watches doesn't gets the recognition they deserve.
Thanks for including the WS-1700H! I didn’t know if it would make the cut given that it released earlier this year with a defective dual-time feature that Casio has since remedied. I have two of these now and they often push aside a GShock for wrist time. Comfortable and legible. Love it.
Great list Jody! All those are fun and cheap to start with but usually worth spending a bit more on other models and G-Shocks. Agree that the A158 should be on the list. All Oozing of 80s and 90s nostalgia (but just feel a bit too cheap). Recently picked up an A1000, worth the extra!
Very fun vid. Cheap Casios are the best. For a moment I thought you might not include my beloved F-91W but I'm happy to see I was wrong. I love its small size (have tiny wrists) but as I age and my eyes get worse I can imagine the W-217H getting more appealing. What I would really love would be for Casio to release a new version of the 80s AX-120 that I owned back in the day. I'm no longer a big ani-dig fan but it's just weird enough, especially the calendar bits, that I'd be willing to fork over some nostalgia dollars for a brand new (cheap) version.
Oh deary me. I'm addicted to Casio watches lol. They're my guilty pleasure. Recently picked up a MTP-M305L-1A on Ebay. But, I'm currently wearing my trusty modded F-91W with a purple sparkley holographic screen because I am so darn cool.
A few alternatives: The A500WA or gold A500WGA are more formal-looking than the AE1200/AE1300 and if you prefer round watches, have a look at the AE1000 and AE1400. The AW-48 and AQ-230 are analogue predecessors to the LF20W and usually a bit cheaper too. The W218H looks like a more rugged version of the W217H and a cheaper alternative to the DW5600. The A168W looks same-same-but-different to the W217H. There are so many good cheap Casio watches - the MTPB140D looks pretty stylish, the A100W is quirky and fun and moving closer to A$100 on Amazon, the MTP1370L but especially the MTP1381L/MTP1381D are very good looking. With all these options, after watching this video... I bought a cheap W217HM-7B because I love the classic looks and it's such good value. BTW something to review on 01/04/2025, Casio still makes heaps of alarm clocks including analogue clocks 😁
One Casio I recently purchased on Amazon for $36.60 is the Wave Ceptor WV-200R-5ACF. It has Multiband 5, world time, mineral crystal, and 200m wr. Great watch for the money.
AQ S810W illuminator is Analog and digital and solar powered. I bought the white one and the black ones last year. The white one ended up being my most worn watch last summer.
I remember a Casio I used to have as an early teenager that was like an F91w but a bit stretched up and down. No blue trim, just some yellow letters and yellow LED lights, I found it better proportioned and it was beautiful to me, 100m wr, but I lost it and I've never been able to find it again. I guess it's long discontinued since the early-mid 2000s but boy what I would give to find the reference again 💔
The last one, SGW100 is a very good watch. I have one, it looks better than some gshocks. It's less bulky. The display illuminator is the best one I've seen from Casio.
As always great video's but I'm surprised you haven't done a review of the greatest Casio ever produced - I refer, of course, to The Casio PRW 3500 Pro Trek :-))
During lock downs I seriously caught the Casio bug. (see what I did there😂). But yeah, I started with the Casio Royale then I just kept seeing all these lovely vintage reissues they were putting out. Then the missus got in on the act and she has pretty much every colour of the F91 and a couple of other classics. A lot of my collection is Casio. You just can't go wrong.
Me: “No way am I buying another Casio, I’m safe to watch this 👍🏻” “Wait, it’s an updated version of my favourite watch from my childhood: a watch I’ve occasionally been tempted to pay £200+ for on eBay?”
7:54 Good one. I actually use my databank calculator for tallying up scores in board games and even payment reimbursements. It is actually better for the former use-case, as a proper calculator or smartphone/pocket-watch would get in the way of the game materials. 11:24 Having stopped collecting Casio watches for the moment, this one actually interested me, seeing it in a store. Maybe I'll pick one up, if I find a need for it, as my collection is based on utility first, style second. Honourable mention to the mod-able W-800H, I added a picture of his fur/scale-sona to the LCD, along with enabling the features as a gift to an online friend. Like the W-217H I find it rather unappealing due to the large crystal gap and unrefined LCD, but this is also what made said modification trivial to pull off.
No love for the AE1500 again! Especially from a space junkie (it looks like the watch from Gravity even though I'm pretty sure an LCD would croak on a spacewalk). Anyway...maybe someday! (Great show, btw!)
That DW-5600 would fit on my place of work. Most, if not all, my colleagues wear fashion watches that have 44mm diameter (minimum) or a bright orange rubber band smartwatch 😂
Just bought my AE1200 last week and I have been loving looking at it, bought the one with nylon strap with black and green case. Will mod it somewhere later but loving the military look with the variant I chose.
Most of the models in this video are well known and easily predicted to be on this list. But with that said, videos about Casio watches are far more relatable than ones about Rolex, Tudor, GS, etc.
I wanted the WS1700H so much, but that widely reported buggy dual time feature (which you didn't mention - interesting) was a deal breaker. Went with the WS1300 instead which, despite being a few years older, has a more user friendly tide graph. And I think I actually prefer the round case to the square one, despite being a huge AE1200 fan.
I will never stop commenting on casio videos unless Jody tries the casio lineage liw-m700d-1ajf. Come on jody do a collab with discovery japan or sakura or something!!
The DW 291 may be ugly for some folks but it is quite underrated. It has the same module and functions as the royale AE 1200 but with the sturdyness of a G shock, a mineral crystal and 200 m water resistance.
For the nautical peeps on a budget, the WS210H-1AV is feature packed, is relatively small, and has solar charging with a moon phase and tide graph. Best watch you can ask for at $30ish.

Why this channel isn't over a Million subscribers is beyond me.
Cause most people don't look at watches like us brother
Because Jody doesn't headline every video with Rolex as every second word.

Love that the Duro is number 1. I love mine! Happen to be wearing it today, actually. The 291 looks like robbie the robot.
I love your enthusiasm; it's infectous.
I have to say the AE 1200 is my favourite, i bought at least 10 of them as gifts or for me in the past 5 years alone.
Wearing one now! Modded of course.
@@JustOneMoreWatch I love my modded AE1200, the brushed hardened SS case and bracelet from SKXMod, but currently on a green leather strap 💚

Went with the WS1300 instead which, despite being a few years older, has a more user friendly tide graph. And I think I actually prefer the round case to the square one, despite being a huge AE1200 fan.
Thanks Jody i always get a laugh. Let's me escape the real world. an collecting watches is somewhat strange to most people, Just One More Watch
Excellent list! Have all 10 and most of the subcategories lol. Wearing # 10 now 😂
I will never stop commenting on casio videos unless Jody tries the casio lineage liw-m700d-1ajf. Come on jody do a collab with discovery japan or sakura or something!!
My remote control Casio nearly ended up with my mate putting his foot through his telly
Everyone was in on it, bless him 😂
The DW 291 may be ugly for some folks but it is quite underrated. It has the same module and functions as the royale AE 1200 but with the sturdyness of a G shock, a mineral crystal and 200 m water resistance.
LF-20W is great for tiny wrists like mine. And people keep asking about the countdown circle!
For the nautical peeps on a budget, the WS210H-1AV is feature packed, is relatively small, and has solar charging with a moon phase and tide graph. Best watch you can ask for at $30ish.
The irony of this video is most longtime subscribers have most if not all of these already 😂
But we still watched the whole thing 🫡
I would say every Casio is the perfect watch, period.
Speaking of Casios, I think it's time for a new GShock! Perhaps the new solar half-metal Casioak?
I prefer the A500 to the Casio Royale. It's a classier take to a world time Casio.
The MRW-200 was used by NASA in the "WB-57 High Altitude Research Program" :p
