Wow, great memories. As a 67 year old Bronx boy I still remember back in the 60's hearing that iconic music playing and all of us scattering to run home and get money. Ma! I would yell outside my apartment window so I could ask my mom "Can I get Ice cream? Pleeeez?" She would then throw down some change. I don't remember how much a cone was back then but it was just a few cents....20? 25 cents? Less? I remember a bottle of Coke or Pepsi was on'y around 25 cents. Actually we didn't really drink much coke. Back then our cola of choice was RC Cola. Good times. Ahh the memories. Love the Bronx.
Thanks! This one is actually out on the upper west side a lot-really nice family has a franchise of a few trucks and we’ve been going to them for years. This is their only vintage truck though. When we realized we didn’t have a video of this truck with the music, the driver was awesome and turned it on for us!
My son and I have seen a bunch of your videos! In fact I think it’s because of your videos that he’s been hoping to find a second vintage truck that he’s hoping is still on the road. This was in Manhattan on the upper west side-is there one that drives around in the Bronx?
Good observation, hadn’t even noticed that before! It’s definitely a 1960 truck though-we’ve talked to the owners about it. I think it’s been on a couple of film sets!

That’s 1 of the Bronx 1960s back then the Bronx had a lot more 1960 but they got sold or scrapped
