H150i Capellix I had the same problem with the AM4 bracket, only on both sides. Wasted hours on it before sending it back. Would put me off buying this.
I don't understand the logic behind it. Those AM3/4 mounts are hideous and when every other socket mounting for the cooler uses a 4 point mechanism, it's just daft not to do the same for these. You even have a backplate there to use, not like 115X/1200 where they have to include a backplate.
Bit-tech forums member currently in the process of a new build, I have the 1000d case with 10 ll120 fans and an AX1600I power supply so far, The build will be either threadripper zen 3 or Epcy zen 3 for editing and rendering pro quality s log 3 video I have no full water cooling loop build experience and do not have the confidence to do it so possibly this will be perfect for the build
Custom watercooling isn't the big bad beast people make it out to be, but for the price, this would be hard to beat. Custom loop of equivalent would be twice the price.
I slapped 170i on my 6900xt, it took me like 1day and a lot of balls to do it. The temps a really good. Before i had 280mm aio nzxt. It did the job keeping gpu temps at 65-72. Hot spot 95. JT at 88.But at 98% fan speed. Now temps like : Gpu 51 HS 86 JT 70 And it is all at 60% fan speed. I Iove 170i !
Yeh it did a really good job of cooling the 5800X in our test bench, even on the overvolted 150W profile. at the more realistic 125W profile which is still a 4.7GHz all core oc, it had no trouble keeping it in check even with ridiculously slow fan speeds.
@@MakinComputers currently am using the be quiet silent loop 360mm to tame the 13900k while playing bf2042 it reaches 90c+ , you think this corsair h170i can tame it under 80c?
@@pcgamerzzzchannel3407 is that an original silent loop or a silent loop 2? Of an original it's quite old now, probably lost a fair bit of liquid, might be worth upgrading and a h170i with it'd big 420 rad would be a great choice if it fits your case. If it's a silent loop 2 you should be able to increase fan speeds a little to get better temperatures, but the h170i or an arctic 360/420 with their thicker rads would have more cooling potential. You could also try remounting your current cooler in case it's just bad/uneven mounting pressure.
@@pcgamerzzzchannel3407 yeh that can hold 3 or 4 420's I think. Don't just throw the pure loop away though, I'm sure that's the one that uses a pretty standard alphacool rad. Maybe instead of an aio you have a go at a custom loop?
It is a little whiney, especially at high speeds, but it's only noticeable if the fans are at their lowest rpm or stopped. Would also depend on your case's noise absorption where you have it.
So you recommend this or artic 420? I'll admit I do like the rgb but I want my 5950x cooled. Artic freezer aio is highly praised in all areas as forcthat corsair case. I'm definitely going to pre-order it for sure.

Although I've not formally tested any of the Arctic's, but have used them in builds for others and they are DEAD quiet, but the effectiveness of the H170i at really low speeds and noise levels really surprised me. Without testing I'd guess there's probably not be much in it, but the thicker rad on the liquid freezer would likely give it an edge, although not significant enough to choose one or the other based on performance alone. Really what you're choosing between them is their vastly contrasting aesthetics and ease of installation/cable management. One the one hand you have the Arctic; - Arctic liquid freezer: no lighting of any kind, fans looks great, tubing good, pump-block looks a little cockroach-ish, but in general still pretty cool looking, really good effective mounting setup, fans pre-installed and wired up, just a single pwm connector to power and control the whole thing. Simplicity at its finest. - Corsair H170i: ok mounting but not great on AM4 (at least you only have to do it once), deep bright lighting, excellent control software with a plethora of LED and fan control options, but that comes with lots of cables to route and manage and a sizeable controller that needs stashing somewhere.
@@volkankeklik1238 pump RPM on it's own means very little. It says nothing of the pump design and the actual output of the pump in terms of flow rate and pressure. Those are also influenced heavily by the block and radiator design and tuned for their design in particular. AIOs can only be really measured as a whole package because each component has many variables that go beyond a spec sheet.
@@MakinComputers you have a point but I still believe the h170i is superior to Arctic 420. I'm sure same could be said about the h150i and nXt x73 being better than the Arctic 360 given same fan and paste setup. This is not for those 65 or 100w cpus. I'm referring to the 200w+
@@volkankeklik1238 The Arctic would probably perform better, because it has a 38mm thick rad Vs other companies that use 28-30mm. But the differences when you get to this level of cooling are negligible and well beyond a point where they have any impact on performance. At a certain point you're no longer concerned with "is it good enough" and your choice will be down to cost, aesthetics and maybe noise, but generally a personal preference rather than a statistically superior choice.
overkill? there's no such thing 😂 sure a 360 would do, but you will be able to run the fans really low and keep it it super quiet, plus has lots of headroom for if you later upgrade the CPU
This and perhaps a Corsair 7000D case, altho I recently bought a Corsair 5000D Airflow - damn that case is good but I suppose will not fit a 420mm (450mm physical size) rad in it. Yeh going to be a tight squeeze for a lot of cases. It's pretty short so you might be able to squeeze it in the front of the 5000D with a few additional fan holes.

It does come with pre-applied paste, but I had taken it off. I'd kind of "used it" in doing the test mounting on the 1155 motherboard, but the coverage I got looked very nice, even and thin from the mount, was pleasantly surprised and wouldn't put anyone off from using it. I don't use the stock paste the coolers come with for the benchmarks, I use Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut for all of them to make sure it's as consistent as possible.
They approximately 43cm long, measured between the ends of the fittings/hose covers. It's still in the 7000X so a little trickier to measure, but should be close enough.

The non-RGB variant goes up to 97cfm. They're also much louder lol The ones that come with the AIO are the ML140 Pro RGB fans, which only move about 55cfm with 1.2 mmH2O. Kinda underwhelming imo.

Corsair AIO's cable has been messy for many years, but this time, they went one step further to force you to use the icue controller for the pump, which is just unacceptable for itx builders.
Pretty much any fan that has 2cable RGB setup is a nightmare, unless you can trim cables you'll have a big bunched up ball of wire somewhere. You could slim the controller down a bit by removing the case and as an alternative, with a bit of experimentation you could probably find the power for the pump and leave the LEDs off so you didn't have to use the controller. This particular model likely has similar volume to some sff builds 😂
@@MakinComputers To be fair, not many AIOs would force you to use the controller for the pump. There is really no space for the controller in an ITX case. Given that more people are getting into ITX nowadays, Corsair probably need to re-think their aio strategy. At least go back to the previous design which allows you to use the pump without the controller, and consumers can make their own choices on the fan rgb. Edit: since you mentioned modding, yeah, it might work, but for some savvy builders only.
Yes, this is totally unacceptable. Instead of listening to the small demography who wants better cable management for literally any build, Corsair should cater to the huge demography of people who still do ITX systems in 2021, and that with 420mm rads.
@@AesthYT Corsair haven't stopped production of their other AIOs. You can still get the non RGB Hydro Series and the RGB Pro XT line, both of which don't require the controller to function.
step #1 is to replace the weak fans with [ NOCTUA NF-P14 REDUX-1700 ] X6 in a push / pull confg. IDLE=28C/30C, GAMING STRESS TEST FOR ONE HOUR= 54C or LESS Depending on case and airflow.
We have a winner! Just bought this thing. Going to delid a 7980XE and do direct die cooling with this thing, but am taking the stock fans off and slapping on Noctuas with push/pull config. Going to see how this works out.
Well for one, I'd like to know how you got fans that don't exist, seeing as the 140mm redux only go up to 1500. Secondly, it's absolutely not needed, especially push/pull. The stock fans were still keeping the 5800X in check at 500rpm. All you're doing is adding noise. If you look at the specs of the redux NF-P14 1200 which match the speed the stock ML120 RGB PROs do, the specs are very close. The redux have a very slight advantage, but nothing you'd notice at 500rpm.
@@MakinComputers It can help with static pressure (just my non-scientific assumption) especially when you have a thick mesh/filter, but you're right, it's overkill. In my case, it's just a habit , every time I set up an AIO I do push/pull and put the fans on full blast. I give 0 f**s about noise. My house sounds like a data center. Also, it would be nice to see some 140 Noctuas go above 1500.
the fans that come with the cooler are corsair's 140ML pro rgb fans. they are not bad at all, and i rather not have ugly plasticy brown fans on my setup even if they perform super good.
there are a lot of cables to content with, but at least they're mostly kept round the back, unlike the MSI K360 which has them all hanging off the pump-block like a jellyfish.
I've not really had many problems with it, but I've also not used it on a daily build. It has managed to delete all my fan profiles a couple of times, but that is while moving the test bench system between cases a dozen times and I may have tracked the problem don to using different usb headers on the motherboard. Still a right ball-ache though.

10900KF all core OC @ 5.1GHz. CPU doesn't touch above 42 degrees c when gaming.

there are a lot of cables to content with, but at least they're mostly kept round the back, unlike the MSI K360 which has them all hanging off the pump-block like a jellyfish.

I like the aio but the software is absolutely trash
I've not really had many problems with it, but I've also not used it on a daily build. It has managed to delete all my fan profiles a couple of times, but that is while moving the test bench system between cases a dozen times and I may have tracked the problem don to using different usb headers on the motherboard. Still a right ball-ache though.
I don't mind gay people... but it's bloody hard to understand them half the time with that gay voice, he can't even pronounce half the words he's saying correctly (decibells) I mean okay...? what's a deci bell? he's not British, possibly American?

The intro music? Does seem to come in a bit loud. Think that was on the same track as voice which got boosted up a few db, which would explain it. Sorry!
I've just got this but the LCD version to cool my 12900k, can't do anything with it yet as i don't have a GPU because obviously all the 4090s in the uk are either scalped to shit or just out of stock everywhere (supposed to be in a living crisis though yea? lmao)
