Just bought this AIO and they made some changes to it. I think they listened to Jay's critique.
Changes they made:
They sleeved the CPU fan cable so it looks stronger. (still got the tiny wire inside)
Made the sleeve of the other cables better fitting.
Changed the hologram stickers to plain black ones with the Corsair logo.
There is also no more hot glue used to keep the fan cable in it's place.
The thermal paste are multiple triangle shaped with little spacing.(Personally i'm not a fan of this so i'll be changing it with thermal paste from Der8auer)

Jay makes sure to point out that the fans have special frames to direct the air through the radiator more efficiently then proceeds to mount the fans in a way that won't use that feature 🤣

Yep...and to add to it, if they were mounted in a way that used that feature , it would also hide those 1990's hologram stickers that Jay loves so much.

I personally think that at least on occasion some testing of cooling solutions should be done in cases, specifically within a few different cases that are high, moderate and low air-flow, as a way to make sure that certain cooling designs are not significantly diminished when put into a case, despite being similar or better than other cooling solutions when tested on an open-air test bench.
Even just a single video showing that the results are transferrable, if they are, as Jay seems to be implying (for example testing a few different cooling solutions on equivalent hardware in multiple different cases and the test bench, and graphing each of the solutions results to show whether the best open-air cooling solution remains so in every case or not - and whether the lead is maintained, diminished, or improved), would be a great video to see and could be pointed to for anyone complaining about it in the future.
I agree with you on the hologram stickers. The glue issue kind of sucks too considering the price. I'd probably replace it with some black RTV.
I think for benchmarking purposes, it's actually ideal to use a test bench because it gives you the best possible scenario with whatever your testing in terms of thermals. Everything else will scale down because it's an open-air test bed. The moment you start putting it into case, the variances in case design come into play and skew results, point and at that point you're not just testing the cooler, but also case performance as well.
Bought the upgrade kit... relatively easy to change out the block cover and wire things up. Quite pleased with it.
Really like that you include aesthetic criticisms as well as technical. They put those glass panels on for a reason. I like gunmetal grey, Russian industrial over seizure-inducing kawaii, but to each their own.

I love Jay and his videos, he's one of the longest running PC RUclipsrs and he's like the crazy cool uncle you'd love to have... But I gotta say, in the past couple of years, he's been getting a bit sloppy on what and how he reviews.
There's nothing wrong about a sponsored review, but when you do a sponsored review, and don't have a single bad thing to say about a product, then it gets fishy. For this one he did have some negative comments, but in some other videos he's uploaded, he has talked about products that even if cool, have blatant flaws or drawbacks, and he has failed to bring up any of them (can't remember the video right now, but it was from about a month or so ago).
I guess maybe he's always been like this, but I just hadn't noticed? I mean, not every channel has to be Gamers Nexus, but at least try and maintain fairness in your reviews :/
This cooler is outstanding!!! The install is easy and it works incredibly well. My temps were reaching 90+ and now they don’t get above 60

I have a white one with my all white build, love it. I used the LL120 fans I already had. Probably not as efficient, but they work, and it looks better. Also the Commander Core replaces two devices my previous cooler and fans used (I have 6 LL120s). Also less wires going to the new cooler, alot less messy looking.
I just wanted to say that I love the Jaytober series. Before I watched a video every now and then but recently I wait for them on a daily basis.
I love coming over to watch Jays videos and his audio is so good compared to a few other channels, I always have to turn my column down.

@dj Kplus The thermaltake lawsuit hit them pretty hard. Every tech company was affected by the trump tariffs, it ain't an excuse.
Also, yeah, the P series... but what about the crap power supplies, crap fans, crap AiO's, crap custom watercooling kits and the most budget cases are crap as fuck.
For the price point they ask for the P series, there would be riot if they built them as the budget series.
I really really like my thermaltake core P3. You would think it gets dusty but I've had it for more than two years now and never dusted it once. Something about the fans of the radiator and the video card keep that dust in the air moving right out of the case because there's no sides so it never settles. Strange phenomenon but awesome, I was expecting to have to dust it all the time.
I really enjoy your work and explanations for computer geeks like myself.
With that in mind I’m looking into setting up or buying a NAS system. After years of computer use, I have tons of different devices with scattered unorganized files and pictures. It would be nice to have a better understanding of the inner works associated with builds and set up of a non cloud base home or small business set up.
Jay for those Corsair radiators you are going to want fan gaskets between the fan and the rad for best pressure and airflow.
The new Corsair H115i Capellix AIO’s look insanely good. I’m not sure about thermal performance but they seem to push good air according to the specs (the 280 version does 97 CFM and 3.0mm H20 pressure). I’ll probably get this or a Lian Li Galahad
Actually, the LCD XT is the improvement over the older capellecx version, and that's why it costs more.
I was surprised by the price of this CPU cooler as I has been expecting more like $250, but it costs $540 AUD in Australia. Bloody expensive, especially considering the highlighted issues. I personally don't care about the gifs but I do like the temperature and power use options.

I've just built a new ryzen system (after being exclusively intel after my K6-2 bit the dust) and jay just suddenly ended up in my recommendations, enjoying these videos a lot.
Just got this for my system. Super great. Runs quiet af and looks amazing with either the stats on screen or a gif. Great purchase!!!
Do you have any noise issues coming from the fans? I've seen some complaints that the fans make a weird noise, kinda like a piece of paper stuck between the fins. Asking because I'm thinking of getting 4 x 140's elite fans for the rest of my case
If you have more than 1 independent variable, your results will be inconclusive. Therefore, open air test bench is the way to go for these tests.
Yes and no. Putting stuff into a real case will have a meaningful effect on perceived loudness as cpu and gpu coolers noise will get dampened.
But you also have some moronic review sites that test 360 aio:s with a case like Be Quiet 801 and place the rad against the closed roof that has small vents for 120 fan at the back of the case. "Barely better than a d14". I bet next they tape the d14 shut from all sides and say its worse than a stock cooler.

i was so confused why it didn't pop up in icue, you helped me figure out that hurdur there is specific headers for it, like fan3 is not where you put them...
Also just got to say jay your are a godsend for someone who likes to figure things out and misses an obvious mistake. luckily the fans are a ok!

I just wish these companies that make AIO's would always release a version of each model without fans. I know that technically makes it not an AIO but who cares, lower the price
it actually save you money when they buy thier own fans because they can buy in bulk you cant, it also saves plastic and packaging and shipping waste
@@theq4602 You're entirely assuming this is because I want to buy new fans along with the AIO. If fans aren't included the price is coming down, and a lot of people want to use fans they already own, as is my case, so no need to worry about waste. Also, people are going to do this if they want to regardless. I know tons of people who still end up replacing their stock AIO fans

This is well beyond the level of extravagance I would ever want for a CPU cooler. I just splurged on a Noctua CPU cooler though and boosted the OC on my 7700K to 4.7 Ghz using information I got mainly from watching this channel.
You have an i7 4700k too? Considering getting this or the kraken cause they're the only 2 on the market with animated 8bit led screens. Ugh the decision is kinda hard to make and price points are the same.

I agree that the hot glue blobs were a last-minute decision by QC because the tabs aren't there. Hell, they are there on my $5 Arctic fans. But the cheap plastic housing is something completely different. Unless we find out later that it's some sort of unbreakable hybrid kevlar polymer.

It was like a 7-10 C difference. That LCD is a HUGE premium, though. I don't think it's worth it for the LCD alone.

You can put together a 3060ti build on redux for $1500 and they ordered 1660 for almost $1400. Of course it's a terrible value

@@philistine3260 Redux actually changed their Good build and now made them start with a GTX 1660 and an air cooler (before it was GTX 1650 and an AiO) the day after GN published that video so it looks more bang for the buck now.
The main problem with Redux is that while you can customize some parts, you can't customize ALL of them (and you still can't even up to now) so you get some case scenarios where you're stuck with overkill parts like an expensive AiO on a 10400F when a cheaper air cooler would suffice.

Just a heads up for people looking to order this or the other variants, mine is the h150, i have no compaints on the cooler performance but the hoses are not very long, in my meshify 2 i chose to mount this at the front of the case and the hoses had to be at the top, they were not longer enough to be at the bottom, luckily the rad is higher than the cpu so its ok but not optimal, just be aware of this if u insist on having the hoses feed from the bottom of the rad 👍

Just recieved my H150i elite LCD (Dec 2022) and the hot glue is still there but much less on mine and it's black glue that blends decently with the frame.

I love the minimalist AL120's from Lian Li because you can daisy chain, so less wires, and the things are just SOLID build quality. Only downside is shipping takes forever like most stuff right now.

Another benefit of an open air test bench, there is space for a small first aid kit underneath for when you cut your hand open changing cooler mounts

That AIO is just a typical Aluminum rad Asetek unit with Corsair fans and a LCD that does nothing to help cooling but does make it expensive. Not worth $290.
Just like the other AIOs with lcd screens
For that price you can get a EK kit with a copper rad and it's expandable.
If rgb increases my frames this will too. You clearly have never built a gaming pc

Im so glad i got my Fractal Design Celsius S36 (360 rad) for $120, 3 years ago and never been happier, overclocked my i7-8700k to 5,1ghz with liquid metal delid, never seen the cpu get over 55c in long gaming sessions. Seeing these AIO prices today from everyone is mind blowing to me, kinda feel bad for the people that pay these amounts for that kind of cooling performance.

@Casual Scum i buyed a lenovo legion for 1,3k €. It has a 3070( 115-130watts) and a ryzen 5600h. The Screen is a 165hz ips hdr panel. It outperforms my 3600x+3060.

I'm such a sucker for LCDs on AIO pump blocks, I love that so much.
The LCD screen is obviously cool. I like all that LCD and LED stuff. Flash is fun! Corsair is making a conversion kit that replaces the pump cover very easily. Probably would take about 5 minutes. The problem is right now like so many things try finding one for sale somewhere. I wonder if it will display temp in Fahrenheit?

At this point my whole Rig is gonna be Corsair, I have had terrible experiences with Nzxt & AuraSync, Icue is the only one that hasn't given me some problem.

Aurasync doesn't even detect the rgb built into my Asus motherboard lol. Some of the most worthless software I've ever used
I'm leaning towards icue.
Signal RGB only detects my tridentZ but not the three argb fans or two strips...

is it? my brother uses icue with some fans and aio, the moment he shuts down icue his temps drop 5-6c
Anybody else notice the time interval on corsair RGB settings is never consistent? I set my lights to 2.2 second intervals and often times it's faster or slower. I know this is a very specific situation just curious if anybody else is as particular with their RGB settings as I am.
I'm too lazy but i know sometimes the interval is the entire thing and you have to manually set the effect start up and exit yourself for everything to match
Also things like light travel speed make an effect too
Corsair also sells a "upgrade" kit for those who already bought elite capellix AIO's and wanted the LCD screen

LCD AIO’s are the future IMO. I love my NZXT Z63 AIO so this Corsair one is awesome to see.

have had this AIO for around a year the standard one without the new fans and screen, and tonight learned that the screen upgrade is a thing.
Awesome video! Also made me realize despite checking for iCUE updates and it saying I'm using latest version, that I was running an out of date version of the software, lol
Jay, if the fans were in intake mode, the fans would be facing the opposite direction and the hot glue blobs would be against the radiator.
Doesn't matter though. At this cost that's just unacceptable -- it literally looks like an engineering sample.
obviously... but that doesn't matter? you're paying a premium for hot glue globs. Who tf wants to pay that much and be forced to orient their fans a certain way to avoid showing that. if you're paying that much for an aio you should be able to set up your fans however you want without them showing hot glue dude. that's the point.
Some people prefer to setup their intakes as pull, especially if the rad is side mounted, like in a lian li case. So every time they looked in, hot glue blob.

@@erikhendrickson59 Oh i get it, one of my builds is a complete hard line O11 Dynamix XL with bottom fans on rad as intake. Id see them there if I had those fans.
But. this is an AIO. mounting in any other orientation than front, or top would be bad for pump, so I don't see that being as much of an issue. Perhaps if these fans were sold separately, then yes.

@@lacucaracha111111 Sharp edges are preferable to metal filings from the dremel potentially short circuiting the PC. Jay did the right thing. He would have had to take the rig apart, use the dremel on it away from the PC components and then put it back together and he made a point of mentioning he was too lazy to change the AIO on the rig due to how much work it was to disassemble/reassemble all the time, hence the quick and dirty tin snips and hammer fix with no danger of shorting anything and no need to dis/reassemble.

I bought one of these for a new system build. The pump and comander core died in a few days. Returned it and replaced it with no problems, so so good with the new one. Anyone else have one die in the first few days? ...also... the fans have been upgraded since this was uploaded.

Corsair's stuff has gradually increased in price over the last few years. They're pricing themselves away from the average customer.
Since they went public yeah I feel like they are just milking the profit margins for the investors.
I was actually shopping around looking for one of these for a build I'm updating, but after seeing those fans I'll spend my money on something else.
That was the most elegant DIY solution I've ever seen.
Good review jay but there are other brands that are just as good and costs less, I am surprised you didn't take advantage of the air redirectors to help lower the temperature even more.

If you're testing anything but the cooling setup, would it make sense to use a 480 radiator with 8 fans in a push/pull? Or would that result in too much cooling for testing?
Hadn't built a PC in a while. But built a new 12th generation core i7 alder lake PC. Thank you for having such a good educational site. Because several things have changed since I built my last PC which was an ivy bridge PC. The M2 memory as well as the new way to load the operating systems were freaking me out. But after watching you primarily and some others I felt comfortable completing the job. The system is working flawlessly, even though I can't afford a new graphics card to put into it. And I hate cannibalizing my ivybridge system which has a 1660 graphics card. Even with the integrated graphics on the new core i7 processor and board, I am actually able to play flight simulator 2020. But clearly cannot push it as hard as I would if I put the 1660 card into the machine..

I just bought the 150 Elite, looking forward to the install and move to the AMD 5950 from Intel. I happen to like the hologram stickers, but tastes differ. Great review & video.

The LCD screen can be bought separately for £89.99 in the UK when it becomes available, Novemberish? and is easy enough to change from the LED to the LCD screen. I bought the 360 Elite Capillex back in May for £170 and the ML fans where better looking and better manufactured.

For anyone who isn’t aware, Corsair sells the h115 Platinum for $70 (280mm) on Amazon referbished. Comes with warranty (it’s only a two year old cooler so at least 3+ years left on ‘em.
I have one of those wall mount thermal take cases, but I didn’t put it on a wall but built it into a desk. So you can look down and see all your parts n stuff.
I experienced the RAM clearance issue with my TUF gaming Z590 plus and the ROG cooler with the screen. Unfortunately I couldn't utilize four RAM sticks since the wiring and coolant lines protruded out over the first slot.
